  1. Go to anglers-choice. They have one that is very similar to the one your describing. I have the same type as you and this is the nearest thing to it I have found.
  2. The water is not iced over yet Nice_Bass. So there is still hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. It's a blast all right, but I wouldn't trade it for anything else. Just wish we had more adult time
  4. Dang with my son's traveling baseball eating up all my spare time I didn't get to spend a lot of time on the water this year. I did manage to catch a nice 6 lber on one outing, and caught several 3-4 lbers. The few times we did get out the wife and boy caught several messes of crappie and gills. Now if I could figure out how to get pics off of my phone I would post them here. Going to try and get out a few more times before it is froze over and before duck season finally picks up here.
  5. bigbill - I looked all over the culprit website and never did see the 7.5" worm in bluegill color. Gotta a link by chance?
  6. I've got a bag full of the trusty ol' culprits in 7.5, 10, and 12 inch. Favorite by far is a 7.5" grape/fire tail. The bass seem to love that color around here. My other go to color is/was bluegill. Seeing as they discontinued them the few I have left better last me for a long time.
  7. Just a heads up if you ever fish Emiquon. Make sure you go and get your permit first. Permits are good from Jan 1 to Dec 31.
  8. Finally my sons baseball season is over. Now maybe I can get a lot more fishing done!
  9. Right now I'm going with the Quantum Smoke.
  10. Hi Alexstep88, I'm just up the road from you in Canton.
  11. Hey fellas- Not sure how many of you live around the Peoria area, but if you didn't know Gander Mt. is clearancing all of their fishing stuff out. Pretty good deals too. Most stuff is 40% off right now.
  12. The bite has been on here the last 2 days, between my fiancee, my kids, and my friends fiancee, they have caught over 120 cleanable gills, My buddy and I have caught probably just as many bass. Will post pics later. Right now I need a nap due to cleaning fish
  13. Haven't been bass fishing much. We have been hammering the crappie the past few weeks. At this rate I'm going have one helluva fish fry
  14. Man, it seems like everytime I want to go bassin' it's pouring out. Although I did take my Gpa and Uncle to a private lake and we rocked some big gills, plus a few nice bass(thrown back of course). Then again right after we got off the water it poured.............................................. Maybe sometime this summer I can bass fish.
  15. We put this on once a year. It's called Webfoot Day. Any kid 16 and under can come out and do a little fishing, Shoot Archery, B.B. Guns, and actually get to shoot trap. Or they can just run the 100 acres at the farm (all with adult supervision of course) Best of all it's FREE for them.
  16. Well, Can't say I've been doing much bass fishing lately, but here are a few pics of how we spent our morning. We took about 20 kids fishing this morning and I'm pretty sure that the majority had a good time.
  17. Nah didn't hold them at gun point. Got it from an older couple whom aren't able to fish anymore and they wanted it out of their garage.
  18. I guess I can chime in here and say that I joined the little boat club. Picked up a 10 ft. bass hunter II (I know it's not the same) last night. Came with trolling motor, battery, fish finder, 2 seats, and oar. Been garage kept for it's intire life. All for $150.00. Can't wait to get this out.
  19. I can honestly say that in my 20 years of using Quantum products, I've never had a big problem with them. Hell I still use my old Pitchin', Rippin', and Crankin' reels all the time. I've had to replace a spool bushing on the Pitchin' reel and that is the only real problem I've had. Maybe one day I'll buy one of those HIGH END Quantum reels and try that out, but until then I'll use what I have.
  20. Top one: Swamp Craw Bottom one: I don't know yet
  21. Anybody going out this weekend? Went to Oak Run crappie fishing last night. We did fairly well. Water is still on the cold side at 40.6, but it beat sitting in the house. I think we are going to head to Banner Marsh and do some bass fishing this afternoon.
  22. Rods: Falcon Reels: Quantum Line: Suffix Hardbaits: Rapala, Bandit, Bill Lewis, Terminator Softbaits: Culprit, Gene Larew Storage: Right now Flambeau boxes w/ zee-rust

My female chocolate lab wants to do the same thing. She's 2 years old and so very full of energy...good dog though. They are called retrievers for a reason ya know
  24. I've been in 2 hair raising trips . 1st time was on a backwater lake of the IL. River and a tornado came through. Talk about a surprise, IT was supposed to be a beautiful day, Freak Storm I reckon, We watched it pass us by about 1/2 mile. Scared the snot out of me. 2nd time was on the Mississippi River. My Grandparents had a cabin by Ft. Madison, IA and we were fishing a protected creek. When we came out the white caps were huge! Watched a bass boat running wide open literally flip over in front of us. No one was hurt thankfully, and thank god Gramps kept us close to the bank and running safely.
  25. Don't know if any of you guys are around my area, but there is going to be a tackle show in Elmwood on March 5-6.
