Featured Replies

where do you guys work , for how long and do you actually enjoy it. to where you like going into work and could work 12 hour shifts if you needed to.

currently im working at Sears as a Preventative Maitenance Tech. but i do 5 other positions as well due to the economy and our company refusing to hire the people we need.

ive been with them for 2.5 years and i dont hate work , just my current position.

im just trying to get some input on jobs that maybe ive never concidered applying for. when i move to NC , i plan on applying for a park worker/maitenance guy. maybe even a BPS or Dicks, but im open to whatever.

so....

I work in our countys public school system.  I'm also in preventive maintenance and I have to supervise the custodial staff (bunch of friggin idiots!)  I've been there for about 2 1/2 years and I'm dying to leave!  I'm currently working on my degree in criminal justice and if nothing changes I'll be working in our regional jail on May 1st.

Six Flags, New England.

Middle School Health and Physical Education Teacher.  I have a BLAST all day, and LOVE what I do.  I run a Street Hockey Club 2 mornings a week, an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Huddle one morning, and Fishing club on Friday afternoon.  I LOVE my Job, and That's what I do.

Where in NC you looking to go? I am just west of Charlotte. You could do what you are doing, they are also hiring cops here at most levels.

I work in IT consulting, cool field. Love doing it. It is still one of those fields you can buckle down, work real hard (focus on the REAL HARD) and even without a degree potentially make it big time.

From HOME, I'm a money manager/investment advisor, so I am tied to the markets throughout the day, but have only a handful of clients so I'm not constantly trading.

The cool thing about it is having a lake in my backyard.

I'm a self employed dental laboratory technician/owner. I am a certified dental technician with 30 years experience, 11 years as owner. I enjoy my career very much and typically put in 12 to 15 hour days, frequently 7 days a week. Ischedule time during my days to do personal errands and schedule time off when wanted to go fishing.      Happy fishing.

I am a full time student at JMU until this May. After that, well, I'm still working on that.

I work in a machine shop 40 to 48 hours a week. I love my job and Ive been a machinist for 24 years and wouldnt change for anything.

I work at the corporate office for a medium size supermarket chain in California and Nevada.  I support  our companies time and attendance system for 15,000 employees and 150 stores.  I am the first line of defense to ensure the employees get paid correctly.  It's a really cool job.  It's a set schedule, 40 hours a week, great benefits.  It's a desk job where I work on the computer all day, but at 22 years old, I'm fortunate to be able to use my degree to my advantage and have a secure job.   ;D

I work for the united states airforce as a civil engineer basically run heavy equipment and anything construction . Been in the airforce 2 yrs not to bad of a job especially the way the economy is. i put on my next rank in july.

i work for a company that builds stadium seating, bleachers and press boxes for school stadiums.  i build the press boxes.  i am currently working 10 hour days (standard for entire company), been there a bit over a year...love every minute of it, cant wait to get busy again and get some more OT.  the pay is crap but the benefits are pretty good and it is a good company, i see myself being there for a while.  i would rather enjoy going to work for less pay than dread it each day for more money.

I'm retired and have been for the last 5 years.  I owned a scrap metal co for 35 years in addition started several other companies, new steel sales, steel slitting co., enormous pressure but I loved it.

I've made payroll for hundreds over the years so I know both sides of the management/labor equation.

What I'm most proud of is that I never laid anyone off ever, even during recessions.
