  1. Hi Bdubb, I cant vouch for any other lucky craft but the pointer has been working good for me. A lot of largemouth and striped bass have fallen victim to it.
  2. Posted by: dday07 Posted on: Today at 3:46pm was at my local lake last week.it is a tough lake to fish but all last week the bass were boiling on shad all day long along the shoreline.it was torture cause no one was getting any hits.we tried every shad type lure we had(spinners, minnows, traps, and cranks)just curious what works for users here when bass are busting like that? Hi, from my experience you can use the Cavitron buzzbait ghost minnow, or the storm kickin minnow gizzard shad, or the lucky craft pointer 78sp ghost minnow. Good luck
  3. Posted by: FordNFishinLover Posted on: Today at 11:54am http://www.leesglobaltackle.com/category-s/98.htm The got a special for 9 dollar ones right now! Hi, I saw that earlier on another post and I tried to buy one of the 78 pointer and they were out of stock.
  4. Okay time to stock up guys I got 2 of the pointer 78 and it was shipped fast. they are on sale for 12.75 each. http://www.baitbarn.net/ripbaits.html
  5. Hi, I would have to agree with most of the comments on here. I have both of the baits the original poster mentioned, and yet have caught any worthy fish on them. Just save your money and buy something else.
  6. Hey shimmy nice video, I LOL hard at the music ;D
  7. Very very nice Good color selections.
  8. Hi guys, I just placed an order with this company : http://www.mygogetit.com/ . I ordered the 15ft version that folds down to about 3ft. They have it on sale for like 13 bucks. I fish from the bank most of the time and am tired of loosing quite a few lucky craft lures. I hope it will work and will update once I get it.
  9. My opinion on them is that they are okay for the money. I have 2 of the P series casting rod, I bought them a year and a half ago. I would think they are pretty sensitive, I have the MH 6'6". The action on the Arcadia is a bit softer than other Medium Heavy rods on the market. On one of the rod the ceramic guide on the tip fell off, I called the company and they send out a replacement rod right away. I would say the customer service is top notch, but quality needs improving.
  10. Some great pictures you guys have here Here is just a lil of mine: Kinda off topic, the beautiful pullen park raleigh:
  11. I can tell you to use pointer but I can't really give you any pointers To be specific, lucky craft pointer 78dd or 78xd in ghost minnow color. These are great for trolling because of the streamline body, less resistance, hence they dont roll over at really high speed if needed. Good luck.
  12. Thanks alot guys. I am glad I can offer some info to people on this forum I thought the pic on the front of the latest bass pro catalog looks great so I use it as the background ;D The zebralight is 60 bucks. Surefire l4 is 130 , Surefire L5 is 150, the e1 with the kl1 head is 70, Lifetime warranty is priceless on the caplight and surefire Saint.
  13. Thanks, hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
  14. I am somewhat of a flashaholic ;D i.e. flashlight addict. I think when you are fishing at night and need some good and safe illumination source, you can pick up one of these: It is a headlamp, zebralight h501 is the name. You can take the light out of its headband and the light comes with a clip that you can use to clip it to your shirt pocket for example. The light uses regular AA battery, and have very long runtime with its medium and low level. It is very versatile and can offer a very wide beam of light, good illuminating things that you want to reach around you. Here is the light at 3 ft away from wall : Next we have handheld flashlight, some of mine: These have a longer reaching beam characteristic, good for illuminating things you want to see out there. They have long runtime when you get rechargeable battery to go with. Not to mention they have excellent life time warrranty from Surefire. Okay hope I did not go on for too long, and thanks for looking
  15. The bait monkey told me to order from this ebay seller http://myworld.ebay.com/brad.at.jbc.outfitters, I ordered another one at 14.99 and free shipping!!! At least I am saving something haha. I went to the lake earlier today and had an hour to fish. Nothing big today, just a few little ones, threw the kelly j out and got a hit but he shook it off. I was using the Norman speed clip and did not experience the line bind you spoke of Infidel.
  16. Hi Lobster, I was in the same boat as you. I tried everything and could not get a good fish on it, followers but no takers as the saying goes. Finally I was fishing from the bank and while casting it the wind blew the bait into a cluster of tules and I had to break it off, what a waste of 20 bucks :
  17. My opinion on the senko is that its a great fishing tool, but can get very expensive if you rely on it for most of your fishing. I started out fishing the senko worm about 2 years ago and the bait monkey really took control of my wallet then. If you check into dicks sporting goods they have deals on senko once in a while. I would suggest you buy the redshad color, and use size 4/0 ewg gamakatsu hook, or bass pro magna superlock if you want to save some money. Make sure you use the texpose, no weight needed. The fish will hit the senko on the fall most of the time, so watch your line!!! If you are not careful you can have alot of gut hooked fish, they love to swallow the thing ;D If no takers on the fall, wait for about 5 seconds before retrieving it, retrieve slow, mix in with a few twitches here and there. When you feel the tap tap tap, or the line suddenly go lateral, set the hook hard!! Good luck, and keep your line tight P.S If for some reason you decide to try some other product, I would suggest the Zoom Ol monster in watermelon color, cheap, work just as good and keep all those dinky fishes at bay ;D
  18. The bait monkey is very happy, since I live close to *** he can get his treats in 2 days > Thanks for all the compliments, oh and the lure on the bottom is lucky craft kelly j, I hope it will work
  19. Well I thought I would give him a rest for a while but he got me Now recently his taste got a bit more expensive!!! How can you deny him though, after what I got: 3 casts back to back on the lucky craft ghost minnow pointer On the side note, I was using the lure similar to a crankbait. With the fast cranking to get down to depth, and then a few twitch, and cranking again.
  20. Hi, I too fish from the bank most of the time and I think it depends. Usually you have to release them faster if it took you longer to land the fish, they tires out more. In the hot weather they are prone to stresses as well. Ill say the safe time span is inside 2 minutes, from the time you get him out of the water to getting him back in.
  21. This thread is just too funny ;D About a year ago I was fishing at this little lake and caught a pretty good size bass. I finished releasing the fish when this guy who was fishing with the "Walmart" fishing pole and bright green fishing line asked what I caught the fish on. I proceeded to show him the senko worm and asked if he would like one to try and he said yes. I gave him the worm and he hooked it the same way you would hook a real worm, then casted it out under the bobber and waited for the fish to bite. Needless to say I turned away and chuckle ;D
  22. I think I can chime in: When to select a popper? Early morning and a lil before the sunset, calm surface. Magnum Repel pop r baby bass. When to select a prop bait? Good all around, when the surface is choppy, favorite would be the tiny frog colored heddon torpedo. When to select a dog walker? Midday, calm surface, Heddon super spook jr. bass. When to select a frog? around weeds mostly, spro popper leopard frog. When to select a buzzbait? top water search bait, also good when they are busting on shads. Choppy surface most of the time, cavitron ghost minnow. When to select a jitterbug? Early morning and night. When you want to suprise the bass's ambush point, like retrieving it in-between weedlines, jitterbug frog colored.
  23. My opinion on them is that they are as good as Gammy. I began using them about a year ago and have yet to lose fish due to breakage. I mainly use the XPS magna superlock in 5/0 size for rigging. This is the pic of the 5lbs fish I caught with the hook, he was wrapped up in the nasty stuff and I got him out.
  24. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/sports/thestrike/index.html Check this out, new fishing game with a fishing rod controller, coming out this september. I cant wait
  25. It depends, I would be like "Oh yes haha" if the fish jump and does not throw the hook. Or "Oh noeeee", sobbing if my hook came up empty All kidding aside you will loose fish once in a while, its just the nature of fishing.
