Is it possiably?
My 10' jon boat is a nalco...they never installed a drain plug when it was made. I was wondering if it is possiably to install one without wrecking anything...me and my dad can do it just want to make sure we aren't screwing anything up...and if you can what should I use to make it like supplies, adn where should I get them hardware store or like bass pro?

28 lbs to 36 lbs trolling motor
I have a 28 lbs trolling motor on my 10' jon now and am looking at a used 36 lbs for a fairly cheap price. will I notice much of a difference in them if so in what ways speed controll ect. Also would it go faster if I had both running at once?

4 hp evinrude
I am looking at getting a older 4 hp evinrude motor from a guy from the local classifieds. He was asking 300 and I talked him to 150 because it hasn't run in 2 years. the gas is stale in the tank. It probably needs a tune up and carb cleaning he says. is there anything that I should look for before buying it. how hard would something like this be to get running.

max hp rating can I go over a tad?
where i am it isn't illeagle. but I was also wondering about just going straight electric. how much thrust should i get i have a 28 that I got from the neighbourhood garbage when I was out one night and it pushes it ok but not really that fast take forever to get to where I need to go.

max hp rating can I go over a tad?
my ten foot jon boat has a max hp rating of 3 hp. I was wondering if it would hurt at all to go to a 4, 4.5 or even a 5 hp motor on it I realize to go slower on turns and also it will be a bit heavier but you know.

Who pulls a tube behind a bass boat?
to make a long storey short all thing on water is as safe as you make it. watch out for docks rocks other boats and such and make sure you know that body of water really well before attepmting anything.

I need some opinions on a layout
It is totaly up to you. People where saying oh you would never be able to stand in a 10' jon well me and a buddy went out on the weekend and all we did was stand and it was as stable as you could ask for in a boat that size didn't feel like we where going to tip of anything it was awsome so really it is your feeling for it and who is going to be on it...if your taking kids out probably better to keep some edge for stable and something to grab and hold onto....just you and a buddy it would be all about how you feel and what you feel is comftorable. Like we say in my tech class it is better to make it too big/ long then not big/long enough so start a bit high and work you way down smaller after some test or something to get it perfect.

older 2hp johnson outboat
I had it running for about a minute and then it just died. and on the weekend it was working like a champ but alwas dieing because I had to keep adjusting things on the move becuase of the rattleing. once it was runnigng tonight and died It wouldn't start again.. the carb is also clean so should I just play around with the setting and which knob would you recomend I play with most? also I am not too concerend about ideling i just need it to almost max out I have my little electric trolling motor to get me going then this motor to just get to where I need to be faster and without draining my battery.

-
older 2hp johnson outboat
i tighten them and they still move... it is the black knobs right?
-
older 2hp johnson outboat
so I need to tighten the compression packings? once I get it set perfect.
-
older 2hp johnson outboat
ok so there is the needle valves that move and then there is the 2 other screws for like lean and rich I tighten those or what do I tighten?
-
older 2hp johnson outboat
The two screws you refer to are needle valves for the carberator. They adjust air/fuel mixture. The top valve is for low speed and the bottom is for high speed. Once they are adjusted properly you really don't need to mess with them much. That is what I found on a site. so my next question is how do I set the properly and how do I get it to stay in that position will lock tight be enough to hold it from all the vibration?

Bass Tracker "Bantam"
contact the company that makes the boat and see what they have to sell you. also it might be cheaper and easier to buy a new boat but keep all your doors and windows open.

older 2hp johnson outboat
I have a approx 1973 johnson 2hp outboard motor...I got it out on the water this weekend while camping. when it starts it will run but i will always have to adjust the lean and rich for high speed or else it will give out and same with the slow speed...it seams that when the motor is running the little things you turn rattle and turn...is there a way that I can adjust them and then use lock tight? (but it seams that when you turn it one way it goes faster) also the stop, start, fast thing moves over as i am going to any way of stopping that? another question I have is it seams that i have to have it past the start position to get it to start up could there be a reason for that? Thanks all help is appreciated.

5hp Briggs
if you are ever turning the prop (on any motor) make sure you pull the boot off the spark plug just in case. there has been a few fingers loss due to that nad just spinning it can cause it to turn on in cases so alwas take the extra caution just in case it might just save you a finger.

cruise control while towing
I asked my dad he is a mechaic...and he says it will not wreck anything at all it is no different then you holding your foot at one place....BUT sometimes people don't use it because they feel like they don't have control over the car/truck/van whatever it is your driving. We use it all the time with you hybrid travel trailer, out boat and everything else when we are on a straight strech of road like a highway ( where else would you need it) but to sum things up it will not wreck your trany or anything for that matter at all.
