I need some more help in finding skirt material for jigs. I have checked stamina, barlows, and janns and can not find what I am looking for. I am looking for a barbwire skirt pumpkin with brown stripes. I tan very easily and quickly. I always wear sunscreen usually SPF 50 sometimes 30. I dont want cancer later in life. You guys may laugh at me but I use water babies sunscreen.

A good sensitive rod a good reel with a fast pickup good sensitive line, flouro or braid 7' or little longer rod is my favorite Like avid said keep a tighter line, fish slow, if something doesnt feel right set the hook Most of my jig bites are pickups and very little movement or felt bit. If I do feel a bite its usually a little tap. Line watchin will also serve you very usefull. And the main one LOTS OF PRACTICE.

Thats what I would do too. I know when I make more of them I will be buying the heads and adding the blades. Stamina has some good ones and good blades etc. for cheap.

From the last week of warm weather I would say you will be in the 60's. I would locate warm water in the backs of coves and secondary points. This is where you should locate most of your fish.

i fish slow, I'm not in any big hurry. I would say 90% finesse or slow fishing and 10 Power fishing.

I am going to relplace my steering cables since one of them broke(rusted up). So here are my questions. How do you get the old ones off? I tried to remove them by pulling them out but no success. Cutting seems most reasonable. How hard is it to run the new cables? I am familiar with the system and how it hooks up, but is it worth messing with or pay the $150 labor charge and not mess with it. It doesnt look difficult at all. Basically it looks like feeding the cable through the boat and hooking up. The part that looks most difficult is the angle coming out of the boat to the motor. But it doesnt look like it will effect installation just removal. Any other suggestions or has anyone done this before on a bass boat.

you can usually build it cheaper then buying it. Or you can put better hooks on the bait instead of replacing them on a new bait once you get it.

If you have a merc dealer close you can get a test prop. Its a nice pretty sky blue. Pay a down payment and test it out then take the prop back unharmed and you get you $ back. Thats how I figured out which one I needed. Sounds alot like my boat. I believe mine is a 17 pitch. Just remember as you change pitch your rpm's will change. Same way if you go 3 blade or 4 blade

Yep, its not wavy until your running to the back of the boat when your fishing to get the weight off the bow so the monster waves dont come over the top, and your trolling motor is only in the water about 1/2 the time.

LOL so true lots of this . Thats where I learned, bad thing is when the scarabs run up and down and left and right the waves go every which way and its like driving my little 17.5" boat through a hurricane.

Dont go sideways(parellel) with the waves. When you come down one wave the next one can break and fill the boat or possibly flip you. 2-3 footers I doubt would but if you get to the 4-6 range it might. I will slightly angle or go head on. Alot depends on how far apart the waves are. It takes practice when to accelerate or slow down. To fast or to slow the bow wont lift and you will spear the wave. Its all in throttle and trim control. Although a 2-3 ft wave you really dont have to worry about spearing to bad. 4-6 fter if the bow doesnt get up your eatin water.

My mom drives me Chevy all the way. I owned a boat before I owned a vehicle. So the mom drives me wasnt far off years ago. Although I took my dads F150 until it broke down and wouldnt haul the boat up the ramp.
