I need a cool team name!
It's that time of year again when my jon boat bass tournament gets started. I need a cool name for my team. The first year we were "The Bus Drivers" - cause we take kids to school. Last year we were the "Lunker Legends". Any suggestions for a cool team name?

Giant bass
Yall are just jealous. Georgia rules! Just messing with yah! I think the next world record will come out of Mexico or Cuba.

Bass Pro Shops rods?
I have two Johnny Morris Elite 6' 8 MH rods and love them. They have the recoil guides and they are super sensitive. You get far more rod for the $ than most other rods. The same can be said of there other rods. I have a near new 6'6 MH Pro Qualifier and Extreme that I am selling ($135 TYD) in the Flea Market for less than the price of one new Pro Qualifier if you are interested.

Bass with eggs
It seems like I catch bass all year long with "eggs" in their belly. The eggs are about as big as your thumb and are a orangish yellow. If bass only spawn in the spring why do I seem to catch fish with eggs all the time.

If you could bring one bait/lure with you fishing...
Black Zoom Trick Worm. You can fish it weightless, weighted, wacky rigged. I have caught more fish on a black trick worm than any other lure. You know what they say, Once you go black you never go back! ;D

Tiki Sticks - You like 'em?
Awsome post! I will have to try that with my BPS stick-os and ***.

Tiki Sticks - You like 'em?
I love them. They are softer than a BPS stick-o's but I can't say that I have caught any more fish on them than a stick-o.

Wide Gap Hooks or Off Set Worm Hooks?
I stick with a EWG because they are in line with the hook eye. They seem to get hung up less on logs, etc. They also hook a fish deeper down in the throat/head due to the wide gap. This translates into a more secure hook up.

Help Using A Bass Jig
Put them down and fish a weighted worm instead. Throw the worm to the same spot with the same motion and you will get bit. I have tried to fish a jig repeatedly and hardly ever get bit. When the fish are bitting every other cast sometimes I will throw on a jig to get some confidence in them. Then I am lucky to get a bite every 10 minutes. I quit worrying about what was supposed to work and went with what did!

What is the Most Sensitive Rod Money Can Buy?
A BPS Johnny Morris Elite with Recoil guides is scary sensitive. You can find them on sale for $150 every now and then. In my opinion this can't be beat. I am sure a GLX is a little better but is it twice the price better?

Wacky Rig Thoughts
It finally quit raining. Wacky worms by Kicker Fish bait company.

what every one think about the Strike king King Shad wake bait!?
I have a Mann's saltwater version of a wake bait. I have thrown it 3 or 4 times but have only caught one fish on it so far. I only dives about 1 to 2 inches deep a creates a nice wake. It is a little too big and heavy in my opinion but only $6 bucks versus the Lucky Craft version for $15.

your number one bass catching bait!?!?! (lure you caught the most bass on all time)
A junebug senko or a black zoom trick worm.

Digital Trolling Motors
I am assuming that you are talking about the motors that are steered digitally as opposed to the steel cable pull/pull motors with battery saving devices called digitizers. If so I had a digital Minn Kota 3 or so years ago and liked aspects of it. Pros: Intuitive steering. Push right go right, Variable speed, small foot pedal, compact mount, easy to shorten the shaft. Just pull out the two wires, cut, and reinsert the wires. Cons: Turns way slower than a cabled pull/pull motor, the motor that turned the shaft made lots of noise and in my opinion it translated into vibration/noise under water, annoying to stow and deploy. I am sure that they are much easier to stow and deploy now. They probably turn faster now and make less noise also. When I bought a new motor for my big boat howerver, I purchased a traditonal cable pull/pull style trolling motor. I will stick with this type untill I am convinced that the digital motors are much improved.

Mac's River Runner Skeg Protector
Has anyone ever used one? I fish a small and shallow river 1/2 the year and am frequently having to navigate shallow water. This sounds like it would really help make sure the skeg and prop didn't dig down into the sand and ruin the motor. If anyone owns one let me know how it works.

fishing in the rain
A loud noise topwater bait is great to in a light rain.

paddle tail swimbaits
I bought a pack the other day. That will be the last pack. They cost too much, tear up too fast, and don't catch enough fish. I will be sticking with a fluke, much more durable and cheaper.

clear water shallow flats. baits?
I would throw a weightless watermelon zoom trick worm on a 3/0 gammy or a 5 in senko style bait on the same hook, also weightless. If they are there they will not be able to resist either.

Wacky Rig Thoughts
I fish trick worms and senkos wacky style and weightless. I also purchased some baits that look like a trickworm with a 2 inch piece of plastic sticking out of the middle of it (like a T). A 3/0 gammy fits perfectly into the bait and you have a perfect wacky rigged worm and can still use a decent hook. I can't remember the name of the worms and it is flooding outside right now so I will have to leave you in the dark. Sorry.

Are aesthetics important to you?
Good one. Looks play a minor role in my opinion. If to reels were close I would choose the more attractive one. However, I match rods and reels based on feel and not looks. If you pick your women on looks alone you will have lots of trouble as well!

Is there a cheap way to shave weight off a Curado E?
A shimano 50mg with a 30 inch retrieve would be perfect in my opinion. Anybody got any ideas on how to trick one out to shave some weight.
-
Is there a cheap way to shave weight off a Curado E?
Its not that it is heavy, its just once you fish with a 50mg it ruins you. I was hoping to make a change such as a different handle or spool and shave an ounce or so off it for a decent price. Nothing better than having a reel you consider PERFECT.

Carrot Stix Plauge
I like mine with a little ranch on them, maybe some blue cheese once in a while. ;D

Is there a cheap way to shave weight off a Curado E?
I may be purchasing a 200E7 sometime in the future and was wondering is there a cheap way to take some weight off the reel w/o spending a fortune. I love my MG50 but want a high speed retrieve.
