  1. Well, it depends how you skip it, and what you are trying to skip. When I fish jigs I pitch skip and when I fish weightless soft plastics I cast skip for more power. I almost always use baitcasters for any application except really lightweight softplastics. Practice is the key, sometimes you just have to get out there and not even try to fish, just practice getting your bait where you dont think you can get it. Good Luck! Hawg Fan
  2. Thanks Everyone!!
  3. I just had my first child born this sunday at 2:10 AM. His name is Logan Michael Lewis and was 9lbs 11oz and 21 inches long. I just had to brag to someone about my new fishing buddy . I just hope I can raise him as well as I have been, and have fun teaching him about fishing along the way. Thanks for letting me brag , Hawg Fan
  4. Wow! Glad to see everything went ok. I know snakes are apart of the food chain and all but I cant stand them. It must have been the mojo that saved ya!
  5. In my opinion, best rod for the price!
  6. I wish we could make some sort of map to plot its journey 8-)
  7. X2 Great color choices
  8. Definately check out the articles that that Bass Resource has to offer, they will teach you almost everything you need to know about crankbait fishing. As far as personal favorites for Lipped Cranks: Strike King Series: Great quality and inexpensive (compared to other brands) for starting out cranking since you might lose one occasionally. Favorite Lipless Bill Lewis Rattle Traps: Inexpensive and I love'm, enough said! I would go out and buy a few different brands and you will figure what you like the best! Welcome to the site & Good Luck! Hawg Fan
  9. Glad to have you! Hope Bass Resource can help you as much as it has helped all of us!

Listen to him! I pitch the Eakins 3/8 Flippin Jig with a Zoom Super Chunk. I will never throw another Jig N Pig combo besides this ever again! If I could give you one piece of advice it would be to practice your pitching if you arent very good at it. It will put you at a huge advantage right out of the gate because you will be able to get to places you've never dreamed of and you will be able to fish for those pigs who might not have ever seen a lure! Sure, you could Walk/Troll up to the cover and flip it in there, but you might not be able to get to that spot one day and you can cover more area by pitching so just practice, practice, practice. Theres nothing like pitching a jig into the middle of a brush pile and seeing a bass explode in the shallow water pinpointing your jig as its climbing over a branch and ripping him out of there! Good Luck, Hawg
  14. Welcome!
  15. Keep doing what your doing, catching fish is all about confidence. If you are getting too frustrated I might suggest a different body of water for new scenery and a boost of confidence. My go to baits right now are Texas Rigged Plastic Worms (Red Shad) or Jig N Pig (Black&Blue) up in the shallows IN not around heavy cover for those bass trying to feed on their old beds, and rat-l-traps and carolina rigged brush hawgs (Green Pumpkin) along anything that resembles a point and along any secondary points. Never Quit! Fishing is all about confidence! They are out there, just make sure you go out with the attitude that your going to catch'em! Good Luck, Hawg
  16. No skelaton hands or alligators please. I might just give them a try.
  17. Where would you be in your fishing career/knowledge without Bass Resource? The more time I spend here the more I am reminded of how lucky I am to have discovered this website through a search engine, and more importantly to have people like Glenn, and the Mod Squad put all their time and energy into keeping this place in tip top shape. It would have probably taken me years to gain the knowledge of bass fishing I have now that has only taken me a few months with the help of Bass Resource. Where would you be? I have done my fair share of designing websites and administrating message boards in the past and I know a lot of the younger guys & gals probably dont realize how much hard work is done to not only organize something like this, but to keep it going and in good shape once it starts growing like wildfire. It is an amazing accomplishment! I just wanted to say thanks to Glenn, the Mods, Writers, and Advertisers for all contributing in your own ways to help me have more fun on the water! I appreciate it, and I am sure everyone else does as well, Nick/HawgFan
  18. How safe is tubing? I think if i bumped into a log or saw a snake I would probably pee my pants. I wouldnt mind trying it but some of the lakes around here in central arkansas might not be the best. Thanks, HawgFan
  19. No, he had a button up shirt on with all kinds of bass patches on it, and was tellin me all about his bass boat.. :
  20. What is this "gods swimbait" you are refering to? Any links?
  21. I bought some of these a while back but havent seen them since. Does anyone have any luck with these and were they replaced with the cofee tubes? Thanks, HawgFan
  22. Nope, havent hardly fished any lakes except the ones in central arkansas that have public access
