Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Br1an...Br1an...Br1an...i must say that I've lost a rig or two due to ...let's call it elderly mental overload...don't blame the community...somebody who needed it might be able to feed his family now...Just learn from past mistakes and be more careful. By the way...Rhino's chrome tip looks great on my Jeep.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Went to a little pond in Charlton, that I'd never seen before, today...Little Nugget Lake...maybe...maybe...10 acres. Dragged a 3" rubber crayfish as far as I could cast it...maybe 30'...caught a 3 lb larry on my third cast...then I went home...easy game.

Guys with 'yaks and boats are you paying attention? Do what Rhino is doing and you just might be as successful as he is...if you are, it could make your summer.

Shouldn't you be fishing? I went out by myself for a couple of hours today (after a 2 week break)...managed 4 nice keepers, 3 were 1.58, 1.44 and 1.56 lb and one was 2.88 lb all Larries also the usual suspects of pickerel and perch. Not my best day but a lot better than staying home. Dragging stuff on the bottom worked just fine. By the way...if you bring a scale, your #'s become a lot more realistic. Grampa

Ri Bassing
Seems to me...and it's been a while...Slatersville Res in N. Smithfield and Watchaug in Charlestown were both productive if you knew how to fish. I'm pretty sure that Wallum Lake is reciprocal both Ma. and R.I. but I'm not sure why you'd want to go there.

I can't tell you how disappointing it is when you bring and use an accurate scale when you fish.

July Bass - I Need Help
Sounds like a black Shaky head worm might do the trick in 6'-8' of water.

Yeah I know, I'm retired and have a boat but...the fishing has been pretty simple lately. Go to the lake(any time) throw stuff that bounces off the bottom on windy slopes, and get a limit in 3-4 hours, then go home. Happens every time. Rhino catches even more...but he goes earlier and stays longer. Wife only likes to go for a few hours...but...she catches just as many fish, doing the same thing only with smaller stuff. It's not hard, just go do it. Grampa

Or you can fish for Large and Small mouths at Mashpee or Long Pond in Harwich or Great Herring in Plymouth or one of 20-30 pothole lakes all over the Cape. Braggin' size fish show up in the fall.... Grampa

Dogbone...Dogbone...Dogbone...you are very close. When all else fails, pick one thing and stick with it. Leave everything home but your worm rod and enough tackle for a T rig...downsize to 4" worms. watermelon red flake or black. Maybe even Powerbait or some other flavor. Go throw it everywhere but retrieve it s-l-o-w-l-y. No fish are ever caught from your living room. Show us how good you did. Grampa

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Spent the last two days on post invasive weed poisoned,Webster lake with Gramma. So what happens when they kill all the invasive weeds, 6 weeks after the spawn is over? Schools of fry have nowhere to hide. Been catching 14" 2 lb and 16" 3 lb bass by the arm full. Unfortunately there won't be many yearlings next year. Still trying to figure out why they just don't let the weeds grow until they get so thick that they kill themselves off. No surprise, they're hitting 3" sluggos that look just like fry.

Spent the morning on Buffumville Reservoir with Gramma...plenty of keeper bass, some nice crappie and a huge pickerel. Swimmin Superfluke Jr. and 3" Sluggos did all the damage. Fished hard in 8' weeds.

Well Rhino and I went to Whitehall yesterday, yes in the Monsoon, and filled the boat with 11/2-4 lbers bouncing stuff through the 4'-8' weeds. Guys the stuff works, all you have to do is use it. Yesterday the ribster and a 4" power worm did most of the work.

Ewizza...using a rig like Rhino just showed us...get as close as you can to 6' to 8' weeds...cast as far as you can and bounce the lure back to you...vary retrieve speed and set hard when you feel a tap. Then take a pic and show us how well you did. Grampa
