  1. Sorry to hear that. News like this is never good. In my job I go on to many of these calls during a year, most of which can be prevented. I to am guilty of not always wearing my PFD but I am getting better at it. I hope some day I can be put out of a job, that means everyone is safe and well. Thoughts and prayers with the family. I hope they remember, if He brings you to it He will bring you thru it. Later all, Snag
  2. I like the green pumpkin, watermellon / candy and green pumpkin / candy. That extra candy color seem to really work well for me on Erie, Detroit River, St. Clair River and Lake St Clair. Hope it helps. Hook em hard, Snag
  3. You can always run into the river and fish Cherry Beech area, American side or Fawn Island right across on the Canadian side. If you go to the Cherry Beech area, move up river past the Marine City Ramp and start your drift in about 12-16 feet and adjust from there, 20-25 feet of water. If you go to Fawn Island, move up past the ferry that crosses up river from the island and you will find some houses just down the way, look for some green and yellow lawn chairs. Go just past that house and get in about 15-25 feet of water and drift all the way down between the island and Canadian shore. Nice fish there. Green Pumpkin/Candy Tubes always works for me. Hope this helps Snag
  4. We are going to Detroit River on June 21 anyone have any tips or ideas on catching the hogs?? I don't know if we'll get up there before hand or not. We usually hit Flat Rock and Wing Dam but is there any other places we should look?? Any help would be great.. Tight Lines all, Snag
  5. Congrats CJ, I hope things keep going great for you. Looks like by reading your bio you've got all your priorities straight. Don't change your ways... Snag
  6. We had a tournament on Klinger Lake in Michigan and when we came in for our weigh in we saw Mark Zona on his boat with his kids. Seemed strange seeing him on that lake. Nice boat though. I wish this wind would stop so we could hava a decent tournament. Came in 2 nd but this spring weather sucks this year, AGAIN ! Last couple of years have been like this. It can stop anytime. Oh well, at least we're fishing right? Later all, Snag
  7. Welcome and thanks for all you've done so that we can all have this site and our thoughts and ideas to share with others. Everyone of you are heros and we all owe people like you for this freedom. THANK YOU!!!!!! Snag
  8. We go by the100' rule as far as bank fisherman it's never been an issue. It all boils down to common sense and sportsmanship. I have been president twice and tournament director 2 or 3 times also. Knock on wood, we have never had an issue but if it ever comes up the rules are written and they will have to be followed. It's tough to do on small lakes but it can be done. If you are friends with the other boater then there shouldn't be a problem as long as the other boat does not mind you being there. We fish for fun and we fish as friends... Tight lines, Snag
  9. We had a guy in our club who fell out of his boat on the St. Clair River and if you have ever been there it can move very fast at times. It caught him off guard and his vest inflated, thank God. He was ok and someone took him down river to his boat where he finished the tournament in second place... It may not always be comfortable or maybe not the most cool looking thing to wear but no body looks good dead. Wear it, maybe look funny but LIVE.... Snag
  10. Why would you cheat period? Wether it's for money, points or anything. Bass fishermen/women are under the glass enough as it is. People don't need to be going out and making more reasons for lakers to hate us and make it more difficult to hold tournaments. Keep it honest all. Lets get our good name back. Tight lines all, Snag
  11. Glad you guys are ok. To many times we hear of these things and the outcome is not as good. You were being watched over that day. Stay safe out there, Snag
  12. Well our first 2 day is over and the weather was a big disapointment. Friday while pre fishing we had a great time. Caught a ton of fish everywhere. On the first day, Saturday the wind blew so hard that we couldn't keep the boat where we wanted it and the wind blew our line so bad that it made it tought to see or feel a strike. We only had 2 keepers that day. Sunday was a carbon copy except we had about an hour to fish before it started again. 2 keepers Sunday also. I guess all things considered 4 th place wasn't too bad. Hope the next one is better in 2 weeks at Klinger Lake. Hope eveyone had better luck and weather than we did. Fish hard, fish long, Snag
  13. Great story. You got alot of patients. I wish they grew like that around here. Snag
  14. Thats a great thing you're doing. Our club puts on a kids day event every year and we have usually 200 - 250 kids. Not bad for a small area. Between them fishing, weighing the fish, keeping track of weights, feeding them, handing out prizes and raffels I know what you are talking about when you say you're wipped out. Yet, every year we continue to do it and we love it. For some of those kids that is the only time they get to fish and when you see the looks in their eyes and the smiles it makes it all worth while
  15. Nice fish, hope to see some like that this weekend
  16. Great fishing with kids. It's never a problem if they out fish you either. The Senko is a great bait when I can't get them to bite anything else I pull out the stick baits. The watermellon / candy salty slings by Venom is a killer color... Keep those kids fishing, hopefully we'll see them on tv someday. Good luck, Snag
  17. Well we leave Thursday morning for Summit Lake in Indiana for our first 2 day tournament of the year. Anyone been in that part of Indiana (New Castle area)? We were there about a month ago and the water was way up but almost 60. This has been a great tournament in years past but we skipped a year. If anyone has any info post away. I'll let ya know how we do and hopefully some pics. There are some BIG toads in that lake. Any help would be great. Tight lines all, Snag
  18. I would go up river to Fawn Island in Canada or Cherry Beach on the US side. Good luck, Snag
  19. Watching Bill and his bloopers, which by the way are funny as hell, kinda reminds me of my partner thats why I ordered a "T" hat signed by Bill Dance and gave it to him at our first tournament. That was funny when he opened it. As far as battles about Bill Dance threads, I think he is a great fisherman but age and wisdom has taken him from the getting up at O dark thirty to fish for 8 hours to getting up when he wants and tapping a show for a no doubt pay check. Wise man once said, "Work smarter not harder" Tight lines, Snag
  20. Great story about meeting him before he hit it big but as far as the other "likes and dislikes" I guess it's hard for me to base an opinion about the man from only one side of the story or the reasons. I like to get all the info I can before I make a desion on somebody or their reasons for doing what they do. I would love to fish with the man, I think he would be a riot but I dont think he would come to my neck of the woods to fish. I have thought about making a challange for Detroit River or St Clair River I think I could give him a run for his money then kick back with some cold ones. Anyway, thats my opinion on Charlie Moore. Keep those worms wet, Snag
  21. Anyone interested in a Wednesday Night Cut Throat Tournament our club holds 3 hr tournaments every Wednesday night. Go to wcanglers.com and click on schedules. Tight lines, Snag
  22. Like him or not he is a great fisherman and a great person to learn from and no matter what he laughs all the way to the bank even on a bad day. Snag
  23. I have a curse to and everytime I leave or come home she's, ooooops, I mean it's still hangin around ;D
  24. Our bass club had it posted on our "links" tab. I went to it the first time a couple years ago, signed up and except for a brief interuption last year I've been hooked since. Much info here
  25. 126 hours of fishing, is that a bad thing????? 8-)
