  2. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource to you both ~ A-Jay
  3. I'm going to answer my own question as I stopped being a slacker and looked it up myself - which is what I should have done in the first place "The capability of the fishery resource to absorb the tournament with minimal impact to its well-being. Permitted hook and line tournament fishing during the months of July and August south of Interstate 74 and during the month of August north of Interstate 74 shall be held only in the morning or after 5:00 p.m. and all weigh-ins must be concluded by noon (12:00 p.m.) ' So there you go. 4. Interesting. When does the daily clock start and does that me there can be No Night tournaments ? A-Jay
  5. I have & fish this rod with a 300D - it works, loads & casts any bait weight it's designed to quite nicely. Whatever "the Problem" is, I doubt the rod is the majority of it. A-Jay
  6. Whichever one you choose - get the 6.0 vs the 5.7 - HP rules . . . A-Jay

  8. The Only Road to salvation in that situation is The High Road. Be true to yourself, stand up for what you believe in & what is right. Because as this plays out, there's bound to be fall out and it could be you. Right or Wrong when it's all said & done, the decisions you make, the things you say & do will be with you for the rest of your life. Here's the important part - The only one you have to answer to is YOU. When you make you happy - that smile lasts a Life Time. Good Luck. A-Jay
  9. Right before I retired from the service I took delivery of a new 06 GTO. Added Minor Performance upgrades. She's a big time garage queen and a ton of fun to drive. Still has less than 25k on her. A-Jay
  10. I have been very fortunate to have some seriously fantastic days on the water. Many included some great fish catches, others centered around great times with friends & family and the best of the best included both. One of the latest installments happened in November 2013, while fishing south of the border with a couple of very good friends, I had 3 days of bass fishing that until that week I could only dream of. The back of most ever cove we fished was completely loaded up with bait. The big bass were there too and they were on the feed. Lipless rattle baits worked under the shad were getting destroyed. I caught more 7 pound plus bass during these 3 days, than I had my entire life combined. The capper came on the next to last afternoon, right at sunset. Working a "nothing looking" steep bank with a little brush, I got a huge strike. The kind that makes your heart race, your palms sweat and you get a little weak in the knees. The fish fought hard and after what always seems like a circus act, the huge bass was in the net. As the net came over the side and was placed on the deck, the bait just fell out of it's face. I got goose bumps just typing that. The big girl went 11-11. Beat my PB by a full pound. With my heart still pounding out of my chest and after the picture session that followed, she was released. And just to give you an idea what I mean when I say I had a couple of very special days, I hooked, fought & landed a 9 1/2 pound bass On The Very Next Cast ~ ! Good Times. A-Jay

  13. I hear you - loud & clear actually. Here's a couple of thoughts ~ First, there's nothing wrong with paying whatever you believe is reasonable for gear - whatever it is. Second - I know you know that there is a world of difference between the $20 gear and the stuff I recommended; The fit & finish, the materials ability to keep an person, warm, cool and or dry just is not the same, at least to me. So I'm going to end by telling you that comfort is important to me and I feel I get it with this gear and I'm willing to shell out the scratch to get it. I will say that I do not have $$$$ to burn so it was purchased on sale - and the single best part of this is - I will never have to by it again. A-Jay
  14. What makes you think you're doing something wrong ? Top Quality gear generally it cost more than the bargain basement level stuff. You could simply think of it as a rod & reel set up that you'll be wearing. Or pay less and make multiple purchases over the course of time for an inferior product. A-Jay

Perhaps - and it probably doesn't smell any worse than JJ's and if JJ's made it they could call it JJ's PP - kind of catchy . . . . A-Jay
  19. Nice. I know it's early - but this one should go straight into the running for post of the year. C'mon Man. A-Jay
  20. I have to tell you that your response here sounds a lot like what you did not like about Tom Brady's. And you referred to him as Little b***h. A-Jay
  21. The Drop Shot is one of the most effective methods I know to catch bass, especially Smallmouth bass. Not necessarily always the biggest bass in a system but sometimes the fatties go Koo-Koo for Coco Puffs over the right bait in the right place at the right time. The method lends itself to almost any depth, clarity & fishing situation. Read more about it and then try it yourself. You'll be glad you did. A-Jay
