  1. Yes - A down sized version called a split shot rig. And it's almost always fished on spinning gear. A-Jay

For me when the water temps get down to where I think that a jig with plastic trailer (usually a Craw) may be too much, I switch out the whole deal. Usually it's time for a hair jig or a blade bait. A-Jay
  3. Nice Job How does it compare to your best or favorite Quantum reel ? A-Jay
  4. I use Parasite clips & EWG hooks on Texas rigged baits. Works for me. A-Jay
  5. You can't fish it wrong as long as you fish it slow. Though I do believe I may have heard that before. A-Jay

  9. Nice - I own and am a fan of that weapon myself. And in order to feel comfortable and proficient with any & all of them, I still need to shoot them routinely. Plus ~ it's always a good time. A-Jay
  10. The 2014 fishing season was very different than recent years past for 2 reasons. First, the ice went out almost three weeks late, and second, the water temps warmed very quickly in the spring and then cooled just as fast in the fall. - Looking back at it, I'd say every thing happened like most seasons, it just happen faster or earlier. My spring bite came late & ended quickly. Seemed like the spawn for both lmb & smb happened simultaneously. My summer bite started and ended a little sooner than I expected. During mid summer historically speaking, most of my smallmouth come from deep water on a drop shot. The largemouth can be targeted with jigs on shallow and mid depth cover. This summer both big smallies and largemouth stayed shallow and I caught more good fish on shallow crank baits this year than most recent years. Can't really account for it but I did enjoy it. Square bills and lipless baits worked all year, jigs not so much. The fall bite here started the first week of August and was done by the second week of September. Traditionally that's two or three weeks early and the same time frame short. I had a hard time putting anything together. What is usually a great tine to find fat bass chewing jigs - never really materialized. I had what seemed like a late fall / winter type bite in early October that was mostly a blade bait deal. That turned out to be something that did last a while. I was able to hop from lake to lake depending on the weather / wind and get onto a few very respectable bags of smallies. So what I learned may really be more of a reinforcement than an actual lesson. And that is each & every year is different in some ways and yet quite similar at the same time. A-Jay

  17. My vessel is an Old Town square back and I do not run it backwards. In the picture below, the battery is in the back with me. I was fishing with my wife that day (she took the photo) so she was the counter balance. When I fish alone, a second battery goes up in the bow. I will admit that you have a few pounds on me. A-Jay
  18. Thanks Ed - You're a very generous man - How about tomorrow morning ? Can you be here by 6 am - I've got a tee time . . . A-Jay

  21. When a local breeder fell upon some hard times, despite a heavy heart, she made the difficult and ethical decision to break up her kennel. Brody & Gunner are 14 month old litter mates. These healthy & friendly boys are gorgeous and full of life. They were welcomed into the pack yesterday just the way a malamute should be, during a serious snow storm . . . . It’s good to have a Full House again. Let the dog Sled Drag Races ... Begin ! A-Jay
  22. Though I didn't have a dog in the fight this weekend, there was more than enough "Bad Football" me. Both by the players & the on field Officials. I'm wondering when the league will start to Fine the Officials for Bad Play. A-Jay

  24. Perhaps you should return it to the vendor for replacement. Like any item purchased, if it's defective you'll probably get quicker results. Let the vendor deal with it. If it was an on line purchase, contact them for the replacement. A-Jay
  25. Hello Will, nice introduction. Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
