  1. It's taken way too long but the new 300D finally arrived. (A Keeper not the Demo). Vendors seem to be having a heck on a time getting them in stock. I'm about to find of why. A-Jay
  2. Make your own. EWG hook of your choice + a split ring + a drop shot weight = Bass Dude Rig. Really easy and completely customizable. A-Jay
  3. After a fairly inaccurate cast ~ "Fish it like you meant it" And then when I hook up on that bad cast - "Right where she was suppose to be" A-Jay
  4. Very Cool Photos ~ ! I truly love night Ops. There's just something about it that seems to take that "big bass anticipation" up another notch. And I do understand and appreciate the fun of "ninja night ops" - just adds another level to the whole experience. "It's OK - I know a Guy . . . " A-Jay
  5. Congrats ~ ! Sweet Bass. A-Jay
  6. I was on the second day of 2 weeks of Official Leave from the USCG Stationed in Atlantic City, NJ as a Search & Rescue Controller, I watched about 10 minutes of it unfold on a TV at the Gym. Needless to say, Leave was over - and we were busy. That day changed the world forever. A-Jay
  7. Holy Smokes ~ ! Cool video & Excellent Narrative. A-Jay

After 28 year of service I'll provide you this - Don't know if you plan on being a career man but for me, it's was about timing. If the family unit was stable and I could manage it, I preferred to be deployed while the children were pre-teen in age. In fact, I would attempt to deployed more while they were younger so that I could be around a bit more when they were in Jr High and High school. Didn't always work out but if I was will to take it on the chin a little, the assignment officers were willing to hook me up on the next tour. Give a little - get a little. Learning to drive, peer pressure, dating, and curfews, etc: all good times and evolutions I wanted to be a part of. The money is nice but you can't put a price on being there. Something to think about. A-Jay
  9. Yes Thanks I'm Good. A bit of a downer day yesterday - but it's all relative and I really shouldn't be such a winer :C) I got out yesterday morning to see if I could get into a few smb on the new fly rod. Didn't go well - at all. In fact I got the first skunk job of the year I'm not a fan. I botched the hook set on a couple of fish that were willing and snapped off a real mutant ( 6lb tippet). Then I scurried off the water ahead of a thunderhead that was heading my way rapidly. To finish of the trip, when I beached the Old Town - as I was getting out of the canoe at the gravel boat ramp - some one had Power loaded a nice hole (more like a cavern - and proceeded to step into crotch deep water. I was expecting ankle deep so the knee high boots were of no help there. I stumbled a bit, dropped some gear in the lake and I sure there were a few choice obscenities uttered - I was a little ticked off. There was no one around to see these follies but I bet It looked very comical - Just not to me.
  10. The north woods of Michigan is home to a decent collection of birds, reptiles, amphibians and furry mammals. The only thing I don't want to bump into is a black bear, and there's a few around. They are usually seeing you Way before you see them and they will avoid people at least around here. Only came across one in the last 5 years but that was enough. A Zero Dark Thirty meeting at boat ramp pretty far off the beaten path - I don't know who was more surprised, me or Yogi but I may have needed clean fishing pants. A-Jay
  11. Reaction Innovations Little Dipper Balances out very nicely on a small swim jig A-Jay

  21. With night air temps in the 40's here in the North woods of Michigan, both the Day time & Night Bite should steadily improve. I've had some epic nights in September and early October - you just have to dress for it. Bring it on ! A-Jay
