  2. Any wind over say 10 mph, my rig will still spin stern to the wind even with two Talons. I fish with the wind at my back all the time. Actually prefer it. So using one talon works here for me too. The 25 inch stern helps but when it's cranking, my bilge pump comes on. A-Jay
  3. I'm finding an area with a little less 'traffic'. A-Jay
  4. They certainly do. I was tired of hamburger hands. Finally broke down and got the gloves. Big difference. Fish Hard A-Jay
  5. My Talons are Least Effective on a rock bottom. Especially when there is wind and wave action. When I fish these conditions I fore go the talons, go old school and simply stay on the trolling motor. A-Jay
  6. Been running have twin 12 ft talons on my rig since 2016. These are the reason I chose them: Electric unit requires no hydraulics I prefer the vertical deployment. My 12 ft models are effective to a depth of 10-11 feet in calm conditions. (a 15 ft version is now available) The user selectable modes for various bottom conditions as well as the 'wave absorption' features have proven very effective for my fishing. One unit is better than none but two offers more of a pinned down feeling when I need it. btw - your bimini top seems like it would restrict casting far more than shallow water anchors ever will; regardless of brand. Good Luck with your decision. A-Jay

  8. LOL ~ I'm trying to make room for my week in Mexico next month. Not much dieting going on there as all bets are off. #fatfest A-Jay
  9. Round reel was my weapon of choice on the rocks as well. #400Btugofwar Fish Really Hard A-Jay

  11. Forgot to mention that the round reels have been known to do a little damage south of the border a well. Fish Hard A-Jay
  12. While I do like & use low profile reels, Round Revolving Spool gear takes it's fair share of fatties. Fish Hard A-Jay

  14. When it comes to a Texas Rig, you really can't fish it wrong as long as you fish it slow. Including a few sublte hops, drags and pauses can't hurt. Something I like to do is to work it back "without" trying to draw attention to the bait. Basses food rarely wants to get eaten, yet it does. Sneak it back. It's her world, she knows its there. 15. I'm good on the brown bass locally. However, our fortunes are completely reversed when it comes to quality green bass. I choose to go quite a bit south and bring a passport to get my big green bass fix. (which has included a few new PB's) #worthit Fish Hard A-Jay

  19. I am right here as well. Although I've never understood the 'junk' term. Prefer to have as many tools at my disposal as possible. Sort of like a good junk mechanic I suppose. Fish Hard A-Jay
  20. Same set ups I throw my jerkbaits; except I don't use FC. Either M spinning gear with 10 Braid & mono leader or M casting gear with 10 or 12 mono. A-Jay
  21. Does not shimmy on the fall. There is no 'fall'. The bait has a slight side to side roll as it comes to a stop - In Place. #magic btw - I fish it on mono or braid & a mono leader - Seems a FC mainline will goofball quite a bit of what the bait wants to do. A-Jay
  22. Bait's designed to sink a foot or so I guess, but then they suspend very nicely right there. I change the hardware & plus size the hooks, so my baits might go 6 inches deeper ? The magic is the sweet little roll/shimmy on the pause. It takes a second to happen so wait for it. But be careful, you might get your arm broke. Fish Hard A-Jay
  23. Haven't been on the water much myself. Been busy but it's by choice. #tankslife Looks like I might be able to get out end of this week (Friday). A-Jay
