Nicely Done ~ Specifically, the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collision at Sea, abbreviated "COLREGS" is very specific about the lights required, their shapes and sizes, and the distance they must be visible. Each State's regulations mirror this. For the smaller boats, the following definitions apply. Masthead Light (when required)- a white light placed centerline on the boat showing an arc of 225 degrees with 112.5 degrees either side of the front of the vessel. Sidelights - A red light on the port side and a green light on the starboard. They must show an arc of 112.5 degrees from centerline of the bow. Stern light - A white light on the stern of the boat showing an unbroken arc of 135 degrees from centerline of the vessel. All-round light - (often called an anchor light) A light showing in an unbroken arc of 360 degrees. The good news is you need not measure these angles. Any properly installed USCG or COLREGS approved light which will cover the correct arcs. If you have to replace the original light from your boat, make sure it's with an approved replacement. Sorry, don't mean to leave you folks hanging but I'm still going through the video and there's a ton of it. It's fun to relive it though. After getting through most of it, seems like this one is going to come out in two parts. Footage looks pretty killer and please know I'm hammering away at it the best I can. Between the rain & the yard work I need to catch up on & eventually finish before the snow, most of the video is being edited after the 'work day'. Plan to launch it all at once and I'm targeting this Tuesday. (could be a day or so earlier if I can blast through what I need to out back today) As for 'details', the video(s) description will include plenty as always. Short version, we caught a ton of bass - especially in the 4 to 6lb year class. Fish were all over the place and we used 'several' presentations/baits to get bites. There was more topwater this time which was fun. Big fish Jeff had the trophy of the trip with a 9.21 lb mutant that hammered a topwater offering. My top fish was an 8.56 lb tank that slammed a big jerkbait, of all things. More to follow but here's a couple of teasers . . . A-Jay

The drop shot is a super important part of my mid & late summer brown bass seeking arsenal. Can't and won't say it's close to my favorite deal as I will always prefer to be moving something, but the presentations effectiveness simply can not be ignored or overlooked. I have to agree with @ww2farmer and others who have noted that moving the rig / bait too much may reduce potential bites. A bit more of what works for me is here ~ A-Jay

I do fish the 300 and it is a 5 foot runner for me. Do not fish the 200 only because I prefer the bigger profile projected by the 300. A-Jay

Just found this one. Entertaining read so far that surely includes some interesting perspectives; especially by the OP. Although I routinely fish waters that have quite a varied mutli-species population, I do mainly target Brown bass. While there's some decent green bass fishing (mostly somewhat south of me) the more local lakes are super fertile and do support some true trophy size smallmouth; that will always get my attention. The past few seasons I've been able to connect with a some of these freak pandas. It's always a very special event for me when I do and I never take it for granted. I think it's fair to say that I have a healthy (or unhealthy depending on how one looks at it) addiction to fishing for them. Additionally there's a distinct possibility that I may have, on the rarest of occasions, over indulged in the Picture posting of said brown bass, perhaps ever so slightly. However, this particular thread just seems to be begging for at least a few. So here's some of my past efforts to feed my addiction. Finally, it should be noted, that there may be many ways to describe the various inland lakes these brown bass all came from, however stagnant, certainly is not one of them. A-Jay

^^^^ X2 This is how I do it as well. I will fish a jerkbait in the late fall the same way I fish it in the early spring; low and slow. I will also add that fishing a lipless/rattle bait on the bottom like a blade bait, has proven super effective for me. A somewhat heavier and thin profile body bait seems to be preferred. Easy to walk award for me goes to Duo Realis Pecil. Has a uniquely designed 'ball' on the front of the bait. Gets plenty of bites too. Also like the Vixen, the sexy dawg and recenty the original super spook has done some real damage. A-Jay

I am a LTB rod fan; casting and spinning. Feels good in hand. I prefer the previous rendition to the current model (most of that has to do with the handle and fore grip design, personal preference) but fish and enjoy both. The 'balance' deal does not come into play for me. A-Jay
