Orange paddletail swimbait
Perhaps checkout this Spike-It product https://www.ispikeit.com/product/19/worm-n-chunk-paint#variantList Comes in various colors & dries very soft. It's been Very effective for me on several different types of soft plastics. I paint them up, they dry over night and hammer the fatties with them in the morning. A-Jay

I use a uni-knot at both ends. The product includes information & instructions regarding which knots are recommended and how to tie them. And let me save you some time & trouble; I've used & tried them all the past several years of using this leader material and the uni-to-uni knot works the best for connecting to your main line. And a straight up uni-knot is the only knot I use to tie to my baits. To save time & $$$, I'll often leave a 15-20 inch length of this wire connected to several of my bass baits (right in the box) that do routinely attract toothy faced monsters. Then it's only a matter of tying it off to my main line. And if you're switching baits a lot, you can include a small 'clip' to the working end and make changes without cutting it back. I do avoid the use of swivels as I'm a minimalist when it comes to terminal tackle. And before you ask: NO I do Not believe that this product detracts in any way from getting bites. I've used it to drop shot in the past if that tells you anything. A-Jay

I use this ~ https://afwfishing.com/afw_products/Surflon_Micro_Supreme_Leader_Wire_Nylon_Coated_7x7.asp Can be tied directly to your mainline and the bait WITHOUT any hardware. Available is several tests & a couple of different 'colors' Works well. btw - often found cheaper on Amazon. A-Jay

Mercury ProXS 115 4S CT
You're Welcome and Thank you for the clarification. Perhaps one way to find out what each has to offer in the way of performance is to test ride them both. Then you'd know. Also @Dirtyeggroll (besides having a very cool profile name), as offered some solid advice. A-Jay

Congrats on new rig shopping ! IMO - depends on where your priorities lie. Right off the bad, it's a ton easier to upgrade or change out electronics than it is an outboard motor. So I say - Do yourself a HUGE favor and put the Max HP the boats capacity plate lists. Then, you will never wonder if you are getting the best performance possible out of your rig, because you have the most you can get. Anything less, while it may not be too bad, Will Be Less. btw - dealers always under power rigs to lower the price - Which is fine Bassheads who purchase theses rigs often believe they got a deal - and that's great. However, these are often the rigs up for re-sale just a short time later. Search this forum - there's threads galore . . . . Good Luck. Now cue the other side of the fence . . . A-Jay

Huddleston swimbaits
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ IMO - your mainline braid is too small. Especially if your Rod is pretty beefy and you're rocking the full blown, drop step, Bassmaster hookset. I'd recommend setting up your swimbait gear (Line & leader) in a manner that will easily handle the Biggest Bass you ever hope to catch. While you're waiting for her to bite, all the others you may catch should be good. Perhaps bump up to 50 - 65lb braid and 20, 25 or even 30lb leader. Bet that doesn't part as easily. A-Jay Good Call. How do you protect against a dead battery?
Once that storage didn't offer electrical power - you were essentially out of reasonable options. Perhaps put an add or something out into the local social media, that says you're looking to store your rig and will pay - but need electrical power. Never know - someone may have an out building, a barn or something you could use. Worth a shot. A-Jay

A-Jay's 2nd Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
I am of the opinion that most every entity that includes NWS as part of their deal, after their 'prediction' there seems less concern with the actual out come. I'd like to submit exhibit A ~ "Latest indications suggest the possibility of below normal temperatures and above normal precipitation for the Great Lakes region for January through March of 2020. This pattern would mean cold and snowy conditions for Northern Michigan." Is there another Michigan some where - One we're not aware of ? A-Jay

Your Usage Theory On Drop Shot Weights ?
Mark Zona's done a few videos discussing how he uses 3/4 oz DS weights - quite often. I've been playing with it past few season however I've yet to unlock the magic. When I'm DS using the graph and that big weight, I fully expect to knock at least one or two of those fat heads unconscious. One things certain - Sure gets to the bottom in record time. A-Jay

A-Jay's 2nd Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
The MI walleye opener is still well after usual open water. Still, I will always catch (and immediately release) more and bigger walleye as by-catch fishing for smb during those 3 weeks or so, than the rest of the entire season combined. And these fish are always in super shallow. A-Jay

How do you protect against a dead battery?
Yes ~ I have a 4 bank on board charger installed in my rig. It charges my three 12v trolling motor batteries as well as my 12 volt cranking battery. I am unfamiliar with the product you linked above. Do not know what it's features are nor it's capabilities. As for a 'solution' - you need juice my man. If you cannot bring your batteries to the juice - you'll need to bring the juice to your batteries. And the sooner and fast we can get depleted batteries back to fully charged - the better it is for the life of the batteries. When run down batteries sit for long periods of time before being recharged - they tend to offer less than peak performance. I'd be working hard to find a more suitable storage situation, rather than looking to make this one work, because IMO - It's not going to. A-Jay
