Every trip south of the border we go through 7 inch Senko's and any just about every other brand of big stick bait like crazy. We use them as jig trailers and they simply do not last. Often 1 fish & it's gone. I WILL be bringing a few bags of these Giant TRD's with me next trip hoping to benefit from the seriously stout durability. A-Jay
  5. Can you post a picture of this deal ? A-Jay
  6. My PB Brown Bass Came on a Spinnerbait - Crushed it ! And you know I thought it was a pike. A-Jay
  7. LOL ~ Thanks for the support A-Jay
  8. Let's not get too carried away here now. Sanity is a strong word . . . A-Jay Fair enough ~ That hook came stock on the Sub-Walk when it first came out. My strike to landing ratio on brown bass was so far below the Mendoza line, It was hard to comprehend. Changed it out and life was good again. If I had any I'd be happy to send them to you. A-Jay
  9. Not even remotely ~ A-Jay
  10. I am a Big Fan of the By-Catch opportunities locally. It's a bit of a gamble though. Never know what you might bump into. Needless to say, I always spool on plenty of quality backing. A-Jay
  11. You're The Man ! Nicely Done ~ A-Jay
  12. Seems that Green section is always right over us ! Haven't had 3 an hour in a while. Sort of forgot what it's like. Impressive. A-Jay
  13. Hello and Congrats on your 1st Post ~ I'll throw a crank anytime they'll eat one. But I've never been a fan of the treble hook on the front of that DT. Nightmare is the term I'd used for it. Changed out every one right out of the box. But that's just me A-Jay
  14. OK guess it's time to discuss your drop shot set up and presentation style. What rod, reel, and line do you typically use (type & size) ? And are you fishing vertically mostly (under the boat) or are you casting the drop shot to present it away from the boat ? A-Jay
  15. No, never. When using a typical drop shot hook, they are very small and have a tiny needle point. IME it take very little pressure to sink that small steel. If I were to rear back and do a Bassmaster hookset, I'd surely part my line; which is always 8lb test or lighter. Just reel set it. A-Jay
  16. Although I use a uni-knot to rig the drop shot, I always loop the tag end. My drop shot hook set is always just a light snap up and a reel set at the same time. As for missing hook ups, IME that's hard to do. But there could be a few reasonable explanations as to why. Here's my version . . Fish biting are very small and just tail biting your bait. Hook point is bad. Bait used is too big for the hook choice and is inhibiting hook penetration. You're not holding your mouth right. A-Jay
  17. During Big Snow Events here, I usually like to 'get a head start' on it. Rather relocate a reasonable amount twice than several metric tons at the end. Besides, hard to know what the further may bring. But when it's Drifting like this AND still snowing an inch an hour - Any of that is an exercise in futility as it fills in behind me as fast or faster than I am moving it. So I'll stand in the window and laugh at it until it's over with. A-Jay

  19. With a fresh foot or so falling yesterday and over night, along with the blowing & drifting, it's hard to accurately access the actual inch count. Either way I'm postponing any & all removal operations until Old Man Winter is done having his way with us - A-Jay
  20. I am really looking forward to this season for you. At some point you are going to have 'A Day'. And then you are going to string a few 'Days' together, and then . . . . . . . Just hope you don't get your arm broke ! A-Jay
  21. For Green Bass ~ For Brown Bass ~ A-Jay

  23. I'll also say this @Fishin Dad While I am all about taking care of my rig - A little dock rash is going to happen. It's part of the game; especially when it's windy & without a wingman. And while I do not tie up at 25 kts - I'm not losing sleep over a couple of bumps & bruises. A-Jay
