Pike winter thoughts
Although I occasionally target them, we'll get our fair share of Pike & Muskie here too. Topwater presentations do take them but for me represent only a small percentage of the baits they hit. A-Jay

Ram mount location suggestion
Perhaps leave the old one where it is and install the new one in the bow area for use while actively fishing. A-Jay

Best For Money Shallow Water Anchor?
Being a Talon user & abuser, and even though my bass fishing is & will always be a sweet water deal, I'll admit to banking on the over 80 years of industry leading trolling motor design, testing and know-how built into every Talon to fully combat the corrosive effects of saltwater. As far as tool use vs aesthetics are concerned, can't ever remember not using one because of how it looked - "That is the ugliest hammer ever". A-Jay

February action
@Darren. Despite all this wacky rig bait stuff, you're not foolin me - I know darn well that you rourinely dabble in the dark side of moving baits - probably more than you're willing to admit ~ It's probably always ugly, it; probably always incudes some screaming out loud and then there may even be a few of them law enforcement fellas from down state stopping by - just to say 'hey'. So there ya go - even the big eyes in the sky are got you & your wacky rigging crew . . . . . . . . It's all about the whacky . . . . . . . . . . .. . . ..

That's pretty good. I'm a fan of the whole sale change out too - like starting fresh. Thanks for the Deka info - but frankly, I don't feel I'm being overly optimistic expecting the current gear to remain viable for at least a few more seasons. (he say with his finger, toes & eyes all crossed) A-Jay

I feel for ya brother. Despite Battery replacement being part of the deal but doing so doesn't make it any less painful when it's time. And the bend over factor seem higher when the circumstance surrounding said replacement occur prematurely. I went the route I did hoping to perhaps delay what you just went through for as long as possible. Time will tell if it pays off. If decent results are not seen, I'm very ready, willing and able to do the same (wet) route as well. Especially when considering & comparing the buy-in price for both . . . . . A-Jay

Well I've got a boat full of them. So you know I'm expecting the type performance, durability & longevity that enabled them to garner the reputation that drove me to dump that kind of $$$ in the first place. I'll do my part. A-Jay

Best Way to Cook a Steak?
LOL ~ Back in the day - before I understood the cardinal rule ~ 'never let the dog(s) watch your food' ~ I'll admit to being the victim of beef thievery . . . . that would be cooked as well as uncooked but expertly seasoned. I hate that. So somehow I'm never lonely in the kitchen. A-Jay

Best Way to Cook a Steak?
Me too. My BIL does it routinely and I'm always offered the opportunity to participate in the purchase. I have plenty of freezer space (stand alone unit in the garage) but just can't justify the purchase with the little red meat we consume - being it's just the wife & I. Steak & burgers a few times ~ mostly in the summer on the grill. Although I bet the dogs would appreciate getting in on some of that action .. .. .. .. A-Jay

Rod handle repair
Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ May want to consider the Winn overwrap product. I have not used it however it does receive fairly high reviews from some happy customers. http://www.winngripsfishing.com/ A-Jay

Best Way to Cook a Steak?
Speaking of the cows - If one has the freezer space (and perhaps one or two like minded carnivore friends and an emergency generator) it is not uncommon to actually purchase an entire or half cow. Cuts are package & labeled for freezing and Butches here do quite a bit of this. After the initial purchase, it's often a good way save a few bucks while helping to ensure a consistent quality product. A-Jay

Gut Feeling
Interesting Paul ~ 'Hunting' a big bass, especially in a target rich environment, often sees me trying to tune into the next level. Looking & listening for the most subtlest of signs that may give her position any. See now what you've gone and done . . . . . .I'm all jacked up and we're still weeks away from soft water. Grrrrrrrrrr A-Jay

Very reasonable and these will work with most all of the GoPro mounts (with a small & very inexpensive adapter).
