  1. Nothing wrong with supporting the home team and history will determine how accurate this prognostication will be. Every 'turn around' has to start somewhere. Hard for me to determine at this point if getting to the playoffs as the #1 seed and losing in the first round is a definite sign of years on impending domination. A-Jay

On the 1/2 you may want to consider that #4 on the back and a #2 on the front. A-Jay
  3. When looking at an average season - and breaking reel speed use down to a percentage, I'm using a 6 something about 50% and a 5 & 7 something about 25% each the rest of the season. Truth be told, I Do Not Like fighting big bass on High Speed reels. Just doesn't feel natural to me. On the hand, trying to catch up to a 'speed bass' zooming right at me with a slow reel doesn't make me happy either. But such is the life of a Basshead. A-Jay
  4. You beat me to it - nicely done. A-Jay
  5. The importance of casting distance can vary with a few factors including but not limited to water clarity, wind & light penetration and perhaps even how much or lack of stealth used by an angler. By & large casting distance may be a little over rated. Clearly distance has it's place and is important for some techniques & presentations, like deep cranking for instance. The most important concern for me as it relates to casting is, am I getting bit. And that's all that really matters. Bottom line, the shorter I can cast & still get bit the happier I am. Casting distance has it's place but casting accuracy is first in line in my world. Success often improves as bait placement improves. Doesn't always work the same with distance for me - although distance can come into play when looking for a bite & trying to cover water. That said, once I do get a bass, I'm usually looking to fish smaller and then distance plays less of a role. Knowing or in my case guessing where to cast, helps too. A-Jay

Huge RES fan right here - 1/2 , 3/4 in both silent & the standard rattlers - and do Not overlook the New 2-Tap. As for colors - it varies wildly depending on water color & depth I'm fishing as well as sun, clouds, and overall light penetration. My LMB PB (an 11-11) came on a 3/4 Sexy Shad. btw - change out & up size those hooks. A-Jay

Hello Bucky and Thank you for your service. Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  11. A shallow water anchoring system (I have Minn Kota Talons) is a HUGE help when launching & recovering a boat solo. As mentioned previously here a snap rope is a really great way to go as well. A-Jay
  12. I'd have to agree with the previous responses here ~ BS Flag is at Full Mast. That 'seller' either lacks knowledge or is making a deliberate attempt to deceive you; anything for a sale. There will be no legitimate way around having that over HP motor on that boat. Perhaps one solution is to buy the boat as is but offer less $$. How much less may be whatever you feel the time & effort is worth to sell the 250 and repower it with a new or used motor that fits within the posted HP rating for the hull. My guess is if this rig has only been on the market for a short time, the seller will be unwilling to go there as he/she probably feels it can be sold at the asking price to someone who is willing to swallow his BS story. Bottom line is hanging that motor on that boat might have seemed like a good idea at the time - but reality is about to set in. Good Luck A-Jay

  18. Lake Baccarac Lodge is a very special place. It's so hard to explain exactly what that means. Glad you got to experience it first hand. I haven't been every where, but it's hard to believe that there is a better place on the plant to truly get a DD fish A-Jay
  19. I am a Very Happy Patriots Fan Tonight. My son & daughter in law - who I haven't seen is 3 years surprised me this weekend by flying up from NJ to see me and watch the game with me. It was Super special and the timing could not possibly been better as my wife has been hospitalized for the past week in ICU. Between the visits with her and the game tonight I could not possibly been more happy. My wife is finally showing signs of improvement and the Pats won it all. Feeling truly blessed . A-Jay
  20. Dad was part of the first landing party into Nagasaki after the bomb - resulted in lifelong health problems. The black & white photos were graphic and hard to view. For both of us. He only showed them to me once - the day I left home to join the service. He taught me a lot about life. I miss him. A-Jay
