Hello Kurt from just south of the bridge in Otsego County. Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Btw, I'm very jealous of the fantastic Smallmouth fishery you guys do a great job of hiding up there. A-Jay
  2. So that would probably be Personally & Professionally .. .. .. .. .. A-Jay
  3. Try the Rage Rig ~ It's a Rage Craw on a weighted hook. A-Jay
  4. No Fair Teasing Dave ~ The aerial attack is cool - but you know we need to see that sub-surface assault ! Looking forward to it. A-Jay
  5. Hey Dave ~ Any chance we could get a Sneak Peak ? A-Jay
  6. Just because some anglers stop fish something - doesn't mean it's still not effective. Real Bassheads know what's up. A-Jay

  8. Hello Dave and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Nice Intro. A-Jay
  9. Look and see if the motor is in any way 'blocking' your transducer. If you're not sure, while on the water, trim your motor all the way up and see what happens to the image. You'll know right away if it is - it will get better on that side. A-Jay
  10. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Can't help you with your local area directions. Someone will be along shortly though, they always are. A-Jay
  11. Where is the transducer mounted ? Ant chance you're getting an obstructer view from your outboard ? A-Jay

  13. BMC is right. Not me, I had just left. I know R. Howe though - I ran a few rounds of PEP (now RAMP) with him a few times I think. Good Man. A-Jay
  14. Hello Shipmate ~ and Welcome to Bass Resource I Trained a Lot of Companies and a couple of thousand recruits, haven't really committed them all to memory When did you Graduate & who was the other CC's training you ? I think V-171 Trained & Graduated after I'd been reassigned from Cape May. A-Jay
  15. Yes Sir ~ Both of us did 2 Tours - that's 8 years each. It was Intense & Rewarding. A-Jay
  16. Not everyone likes every reel. TT had this to say about the one you have - Total Score: 8.16 - GREAT http://www.tackletour.com/reviewquantumenergyptbaitcaster.html A-Jay
  17. Sweet ~ Drive Safe A-Jay
  18. I'll apologize to the OP for both of us for Hi-Jacking this thread and after this I'll be done here. IMO - and it may not be "right" but you're fighting a losing battle. (especially with younger humans - I know, I used to be one) Effort & Energy focused on a different waterway would mostly likely garner better results All Around. A-Jay
  19. At the height of the "recreational boating" season here - there are a few lakes I fish that are "full' of users other than anglers. This includes but is not limited to, Water skiers, Jet Skiers, Packs of Kayaks, Paddleboards & my personal favorite - Boats on plane pulling inflatable "couches' full of inebriated humans. (ask me again why I fish a lot at night) I have no problem with it as they have every right to use the water as I do. If I choose to fish them, I will ALWAYS do it Mid-week, and I will be on & off the water before the Rush. The choice to stay longer almost always ends in frustration. If & when you have no choice other than to be there when it's busy, I would not recommend anything other than Avoidance when it comes to other users on the water. Unless you're going to smile & wave, Nothing good can come from it. So again - I say Good Luck A-Jay
  20. Though I'm not familiar with your particular craft or it's configuration, if it's at all possible, I would definitely upgrade to 24v and the beefiest TM your can fit / afford. Have you ever heard, or read where a bass fisherman was unhappy because they had too much trolling motor trust or too much battery life ? ? Me either. A-Jay
  21. I've run into that a few times. And before I go on, it's important to know the regs for that body of water, meaning is the "ramp" closed or is the "lake Closed" after dark ? Because lakes that have decent daytime fishing but rarely if ever get any night pressure are particularly attractive to me. And with good reason. However I am a law abiding human, so when it's legal to do so - I'll go for "the Over Night Trip". Perhaps have someone "Drop You Off" where you launch prior to sunset and then they depart with the trailer. Then schedule a pick up in the morning some time after the ramp is 'Open'. It's a bit of a hassle no doubt and you're pretty much committed to spending the whole night. But if you're used to fishing an 8 hour daylight trip - this is no different except you're doing when you're usually sleeping - and the fishing is Almost Always better. Totally worth the extra effort. If you've not done something like this I will warn you - it can be addicting. btw - if it works out, I would encourage you to NOT TELL ANYONE - you'll hose yourself. A-Jay
  22. Perhaps try a night fishing trip. You may be pleasantly surprise how few of these are on the lake in the dark of night. A-Jay
