  1. Me Too ~ ! Both the original and the silent model. Also Honorable mention goes to the 6th Sense S n a t c h 70 X Lipless bait which is also offered with a nice rattling model and something they're calling FRS - Faint Rattling Sound. A single rubber coated tungsten ball bouncing around in the bait produces something the fish up here seem to really dig. Both baits have that sweet little shimmy on the fall. A-Jay
  2. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resources ~ Perhaps try reposting your question in the "Fishing Location Central Forum: Here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/forum/13-central-bass-fishing/ Good Luck A-Jay
  3. I wanted to but this guys just takes up all my play time. A-Jay
  4. That IS a Fatty ~ ! Really NIce Congrats A-Jay
  5. Something I neglected to mention above, I have had decent success in that situation fishing a Lipless bait right there. Some of the factors previously mentioned usually determine how. A-Jay
  6. Interesting question. Traditional thinking is that a fish may be more inclined to come up to take a bait, so keeping your presentation above the fish can yield results. The effectiveness of crankbait deflection off structure is often associated with the bass being located close to or on the bottom. Another question may be how close is close ? When considering your question, there may be several factors that determine the answer. List could include but may not be limited to the season, the water temp, water clarity, recent past & present weather, the presence of current & / or cover and lastly the mood of the bass at the time. I'll be honest and say that I routinely disregard all of that and when that situation presents itself - I try it. Sometimes it works, some times it doesn't. That was a big help I'm sure. A-Jay
  7. Just ordered a spool - For me - Braided line, even when it first came out, was the most impactful advance in fishing (both fresh & saltwater) in my life time. I don't see this having the same effect but a line that has the better qualities of both braid & mono ~ Might be close. Could certainly impact many of my moving bait presentations in a positive manner. Sounds a little too good to be true. I hope I'm wrong but we'll soon see. A-Jay
  8. Van Dam is a Clueless Hack. That Poser couldn't catch a bass if you threw it to him. If it wasn't for his wife's superior baking ability he'd still be cleaning the floor at the D & R Sports Center in Kalamazoo . . . (Jealousy is a bad thing) A-Jay
  9. Try fishing at night. Summer time is Prime Time Night Bass fishing Season. A-Jay
  10. X2 ~ My Scrounger of choice A-Jay
  11. Has made zero difference in any application that I've used them. Just remember - bass Hammer this thing ~ so a slightly faded scrounger blade probably isn't that big a deal. A-Jay
  12. Sad to hear but good to see your keeping your sense of humor in the middle of what is always a frustrating & arduous situation. Good for you. I hope your rehab goes smoothly and more importantly, you're successful is reducing the chances of it happening again. btw ~ I'd watch that video and would be particularly interested in your bait selection. A-Jay
  13. After seeing the magic in one of BR member Frog Turd's videos, lately it's been the Spro Dean Rojas Bronzeye King Daddy. Thanks Darryl. btw - though they are a little tough to find, if you haven't started using the Lake Fork Tackle Frog "Tail Hook" you might want to consider it. Hooks up those short strikers and it amazingly weedless. A-Jay
  14. The hunt for big bass is no doubt appealing, often times it can become addicting to the point of obsession. (Been There) There are thousands upon thousands of pictures of bass caught by some very experienced & skilled bass anglers on this site alone with an extremely small percentage of them in the class of fish you're chasing. And I will not mention how many tournaments are fished where no Teener is caught. These statements are not designed to discourage but instead to help one remember that this is a rare accomplishment and that the many days, weeks, months & possibly even years of fishing ahead of you should be no less enjoyable with or without the goal. Lastly, though I have never caught or even seen one myself, I'd recommend trading in your trolling motor for a couple of anchors. Good Luck A-Jay

  17. A Whistle is a Must. And if you are on the water during low light or night time periods, a chemical type light is a solid idea as well. Both need to be tied, clipped or otherwise semi-permanently secured to your life jacket. Clearly none of this means anything if the jacket is not worn . . . . . A-Jay
  18. Nice One ~ Every Bass on a popper is Fun City. Congrats A-Jay

  22. I just put a set of Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3's on the Serria on Tuesday. Spent the last two days off road in some Mutant Muck & Mire . . . . Extra wide footprint and beefy tread blocks for great all around traction. Very Happy. A-Jay

  24. Swing for the fences on a hookset but bum out when it dies ? ? ? It happens - you'll be OK. We lost one today - but it fed an eagle. Best part is we had a front row seat for the swoop & snag. Got it on video too. A-Jay
