  1. I'd rather reel faster with a slower ratio. I also had a burner and got rid of it. I had to concentrate to hard to slow down when the need arose.
  2. Pike I generally don't worry about. To my knowledge have never been bit off by one. Musky, in my experiance, have been a different beast. Musky's in general will strike a bit from the side. Not always, but probably 75% of the time. Have one get a little over zealous, and jump the gun, and your gonna get bit off. That's when your gonna wish you had a leader. I won't debate a mono or fc leader, but for me, nothing but steel. Whatever the material, get the edge and have a leader.
  3. Mornin' Bates, welcome.

  11. Either would be a good reel. I just went thru lookng at different spinning reels also. One that was highly recommended was The shimano Symetre. Check E-bay, there are some last years models going for roughly 60-80 bucks. Can't go wrong with that one. Here's one I just found. Not to bad of deal. Seller looks good and free shipping. Just someting to consider. Good luck-ff15 http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-Symetre-2500FI_W0QQitemZ180303291873QQihZ008QQcategoryZ36147QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

  19. I checked outthe state site that was given for on-line fishing license. Gonna get that done soon too. According to what I read, they just bill my credit card and issue a number to copy and retain. That's easy enough.

  22. Is anyone going to be their on Saturday? I plan on being there sometime in the midmorning. Gonna be looking for something to do. Helping set something up, gopher, door greeter, anything? Otherwise, gonna go fishin'.
  23. No, if you were to look where the serial number is on the other series rods, that's where they say made in USA. If I remember right, the Triumph series doesn't have anything denoting where it's made either.
