  1. That is a niceday of fishing. Didn't have much time to sit still, huh?
  2. Welcome to BR
  3. BTW, I think the TDA Black widow II spinning reel only came in the 2500 size. Never could find anything out from Daiwa about these reels. The only place I saw them last winter was on e-bay.
  4. They have been out for a while. I bought several of the baitcasters last winter and spring. Also bought the spinning reel. The baitcaster looks sweet parked on a carrot and I am thinking of another carrot for the spinnging reel. Here's a pic of the spinning reel:

We are back to possible -30 wind chills tonite.
  7. Yeh, I red about that problem with the mojo spinning rods too. Glad I held off in getting one. Gonna debate the spinning rod for a while now.
  8. Ghost is correct. Until late this year or early next year they are being made in ParkFalls. As of right now it's the hottest rod selling for them, and are working 6 days a week to keep up production.
  9. Congrats to you and Adam!
  10. I just saw on Fox that the pentagon is cracking loose. They are shipping Schlitz beer to Iraq, so our soldiers can enjoy a beer during the Superbowl. Schlitz?
  11. Average size around here is 10-12 inches. I'm lookin' for real crappie!
  12. I'm sure by the beginning of April, you'll be warmed up and ready to rock!
  13. Fluke, no chance you'll take me with you? I am hoping to get a dose of crappie fishing, someone familiar would help.
  14. This is akin to how they feel for me. I have bigger hands and the heal of my hand lays at a bit of an angle to the reel because of the taper of the rear grip. That is just alot more comfortable for me.
  15. You've been fishing every weekend and some week days? I noticed your bass count is at 0. What's up with that?
  16. I got it. I was joking too. ;D I used to get my fill, but the last few years I just don't care too much about drinking anymore. George Dickel #8 and I are old friends. Not #12, that's rocket fuel. I'm sure Fluke's brother has experimented with it in one of them their rocket engines.
  17. It means I better bring my own George Dickel just in case it's a dry county.
  18. The last couple of weeks, I have been scouring the recent threads and absorbing everyones' input on rods. After looking around and pricing, this is a rod I found and bought. It retails for $160+s/h, I bought it for $120 shipped. My intention is to put my Daiwa TDA2500 spooled w/YoZuri 8# us, and use it for senko fishing. The latest I find on the Airrus rods with any real insight comes from '05-'06. Looking for opinons, good or bad.

    Welcome to the forum
  20. In my case, it's all about me. I rally hate to admit it, but I get bored really fast. And when I get bored, I don't pay attention, I am thinking about tossing something else, or the weather, or trees, or why the sun comes up in the east. And this really sucks, because soft plastics is something I want to get better at so bad. I understand the ideas, concept and mechanics of it, just have crappy patience. I vote angler, because without discipline and patience, the pole isn't gonna help a whole lot.
  21. I was gonna suggest #8 until I read your entire post, but personally I would go with the #10 lb with KVD line conditioner applied a few times thru the year. On a spinning rig I would stay with a #8 Yo Zuri US though. for the other #10 lines, Gamma copoly, Trilene XL. I use the KVD conditioner on all of them. JMO
  22. Burley, I was thinking the same thing!
