  1. I catch more crabs than that using a hook and line. Just joking man.
  2. Eagle Claw 3/0 or 4/0 Circle hooks
  3. Stink baits work great, as do punch baits and dip baits. A ball of night crawlers on a 3/0 or 4/0 circle hook will work great. If you can't get the crawlers to stay on the hook mix it with bread and you should be fine. I f you don't have access to crawlers try earthworms, I guess. As for the rig if you're fishing a river try a dropshot weight, 1oz. or more to make that weight stay on the bottom. if you can, get it to float 6-12" off the bottom. Catfish don't really on cover and structure as much as bass so, it's not a neccesity. Just cast it out and hold tight. And don't worry the catfish will have no problem finding your bait. When you're being nibbled just let them nibble as there isn't much you can do, just wait for them do really bite it then just start reeling (with a circle hook it will hook itself). As for bobbers, eh I don't know. Other baits you can try are Berkley Gulp Alive baits, they are pricey but are worth it, cats can't stay off it! Good Luck.
  4. Sounds like you had an excellent time. BTW, what bait were you guys using to catch those crabs?
  5. - Strike King Series 5 Crankbait (Sexy Shad) - Zoom Trick Worm (Pumpkinseed) - Terminator Spinnerbait (Just about any color) - Rage Tail Shad (Smokey Shad) - Strike King Bitsy Bug Jig (Black/Blue) 5 or 6" Senkos are also great in Watermelon Blk Flakes.
  6. Roostertails are nice and they catch a lot of different species. On a side note I see roostertails changed his name to "The Rooster". ;D
  7. Try them on a 1/8 or 1/16 oz. (if the current lets you) jighead, or as a jig trailer. I've also heard of them being fished T-rigged weightless. I'd try this on a 1/0 or 2/0 EWG hook.
  8. You will find that Senkos are less durable, then Brand "X". But they catch fish. Although I'm more of an *** *** fan myself. :
  9. Yeah I think the current you're fishing in might be too strong, but what do I know listen to T-rig. :
  10. Baby Bass >> Bluegill >> Shad But all 3 of them look nice.
  11. Like the others said, it's not the paint that matters it's the action. Good job on those baits.
  12. Your baits always look good, nice job.
  13. 1) For the lures a Shad Dart, will work amazingly on Shad and can also catch you Bass. Go to Cabelas to find them. 2) As far as I know, the Shad don't affect the Bass population as their diets are very different. You are right Shad do get big, but once females lay their eggs they die. And the males don't grow a large. 3) I have no clue.
  14. I gotta go w/ 7'0 MH/Fast Spinning Rod, I use this etup for lots of freshwater applications, and for surf/pier fishing in saltwater.
  15. Topic says it all. I've been using 2/0 but I see that I need to downsize.
  16. Nice fish. I'm no pro but I think that looks bigger than 2.5 lbs. :-/
  17. That's a nice Crappie!
  18. For backing I use that cheap, Eagle Claw fishing line my Wal-Mart sells, like 1000 yards for $4.
  19. Forums!!!
  20. I've heard you can chum an area with Oats, then use a small piece of bread and catch them does this work efficiently?
  21. There's only one link on this page (as far as I can see), and that's this: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?action=post;num=1217908798;title=PostReply Which tells me nothing.
  22. Stained Water: Brusied Banana Clear Water: Watermelon Seed
  23. I have a question for you guys. What would you personally say, is the best Action/ Power for a deep cranking rod? I was guessing MH Power/ Fast Action would be good. :-/
