  1. I'm fishing the St.Johns River in Fl. I think its around post spawn in my area. I see hundreds of them jumping but they are out of casting range (fishing from shore and piers/docks) I have white, yellow, and red jig heads, and lots of grubs. Thanks everyone for the advice.
  2. I'm looking to catch a few of these I try all the time but come up empty handed, any tips and/or techiques?
  3. I'm in North FL and the mosquoitos, don't hammer me. :-/
  4. With all of the heat in FL, I'd recommend fishing deeper and thicker. Try a deep diving crankbait on weed edges.
  5. Nice fish man! Is that a Perch on the 9th pic?
  6. I fish the Atlantic weekly and we catch tons of diff. species on cut shrimp.
  7. I don't know what a Spec is but I know that's a Crappie. Oh and they are usualy around that size. Congrats on your first Peacock.
  8. Stick with what ever works, and when that stops workin' change it up.
  9. I wouldn't call this funny, but when one of my sift plastics get messed up a lot, I break them into small 1in pieces and use them to catch Crapie. It works too!
  10. They work great me and my friends catch 3+ pound Bass on those things.
  11. I agree with flechero for your price range, an Ugly Stik would work.
  12. Where I'm from DOA shrimp will catch Trout and Reds constantly. Especially in the Night Glow color. But kinda expensive ($5 for 3 In Wal-Mart). Also try live or dead shrimp, I use pyramid sinkers, because they sink in the sand and stay, but use whatever works for you. Good luck.
  13. Try frozen shrimp sprayed with YUM shrimp spray.
  14. I use 6'6 MH/Fast, long, accurate, casts, and strong enough to handle a biggun' .
  15. Do you mean use a 3lb. weight if I 12lb. test? BTW, I have 10lb. test (Braid).
  16. Thanks Roadwarrior, I think I'll try the weight method first.
  17. Anyone know the method for measuring the drag on a reel by using a scale? I've heard of this but don't have a clue how to do it. Thanks.
  18. I prefer a shorter rod 6' or 6'6, I can still cast the distance I need get better hook ups and I'm usually shore fishing around bushes and the like.
  19. Thanks for all of the responses guys.
  20. Nice Crappie the largest I caught was only around 8 inches. What did you catch it on?
  21. Today was my first time Crappie fishing and they were eating everything from bread to small pieces of artificial worms. What Crappie baits do you guys use? I've seen people use maggots and other crazy things. I was alos wondering what # line do you all use and what is your presentation? Thanks.
  22. They aren't useless it just depends on what you're using.
  23. If you aren't having luck catching anything try a grub, the colors I would use for those conditions are red/white or Junebug. Bass and Crappie can't resist (If there are Crappie). Also try a 3/16 or 1/4 oz. Bullet weight to allow it to slowly sink.
