What Did You Learn From The Classic
I learned that I'm addicted to the Live footage! Waking up early in the morning to watch the pro's fish was awesome, now that it's over I'm bored... WolfyBrandon

Benefits Of More Expensive Lures?
You get what you pay for?... Quality?... Then again, I've payed $2.99 for XCalibur hardbaits that have an amazing paint finish that really holds up and $4 - $5 for things like Strike King KVD stuff that can scratch fairly easy. I would say do some research before purchasing a bait. WolfyBrandon

Storing Spinnerbaits Bent In Plano Box
I've been wondering the same thing. I like the style of bending them down and storing them like that, but I don't want it to have memory being bent down. I've currently been storing them on the hanging rack in my hard box, but I'm running out of room. I was looking into this... Plano Hydro Flo Hanging Bait Box 3505 I'm also looking for advice on the best way to store Flipping & Swim Jigs. WolfyBrandon

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Just picked up a "few" things... Shadow Raps are probably next, also got my eye on the Megabass Vision 110. Have you seen the paint on those things? It's got this Foil/3D look to it... WolfyBrandon

Casey Ashley Planted Over 50 Brushpiles On Hartwell!
I believe there is a heck of a lot more to the game. Someone could plant 50, 100, 1,000, you name it brush piles in a lake, but who's to say the winning fish will be there let alone if you will catch them. All of the pros have a practice period to learn the lake and find stuff, and many did. I believe I read in the blog posts that some of the pros had fished the same water which shows how good they are at locating key areas. It's well known the home town advantage can just as well be as much of a disadvantage at times. I think if anything the late start played the biggest role, the anglers counting on the early bite the first day really suffered and could not recover. The scores were pretty close and with a different start time I think we could have seen a big change in the weights. Jacob Powroznik talked about this in the press conference, and also mentioned how the new electronics that show every detail should be the thing to look at as more of a cheat. WolfyBrandon

Congratulations Casey Ashley!
I really liked what the Super 6 had to say, and also what Casey Ashley had to say.

Congratulations Casey Ashley!
Congratulations Casey Ashley! Was following the blog earlier and when I heard he culled with a nice fish, I knew he had a good chance of winning it. Bobby Lane really caught some great fish, and when he took the lead with those kicker fish, I was starting to wonder if the others had enough. With him being 9th on Day 2 with 27-14 while the leaders had 31lb+, I knew they had a chance of catching him though. Ike did a great job in this tournament, but sadly just didn't have big enough fish on Day 3, but on Live he knew what he had to do and tried his absolute best. Dean Rojas is such a great guy and I could really feel it at the end of his on stage speech. Watching the blog I could see he was looking for his 5th fish and when he found it, the fish he had were just not the size he needed to win however he did have one really nice fish. Both Casey Ashley & Takahiro Omori had a good strategy you can't really deny that, you have to be consistent throughout the days as well as catch the larger fish. I don't know the full story, but I believe they both went shallow. They both did what they needed to do but Casey Ashley was the one that found the larger fish to Cull with. Jacob Powroznik was another favorite of mine and was hoping he would do well. The late start on Day 1 really hurt his fishing, and he just couldn't get enough to win on Day 3. They all fished a really good tournament, all are amazing anglers, and great guys! WolfyBrandon

Bassmasters Classic Day 3
Yeah, my least favorite part... but I guess they got to do something while the anglers get ready. "Are you ready to see the dogs jump?..." NO, I'M HERE FOR THE 2015 BASSMASTER CLASSIC! They should lead the weigh-in with highlights from the 3 days (Live & GoPro) on the BIG SCREEN to build up excitement for the weigh-in. WolfyBrandon

Bassmasters Classic Day 3
Here is a picture of the leaderboard (Unofficial Weight) at the end of Live on Day 3... they still have a few hours to fish. If Rojas or Iaconelli catch their 5th fish, and it's a good one... Watch Out! WolfyBrandon

Bassmasters Classic Day 2
I've been really loving this classic so far! I've been thinking about my top angler picks and it's been Very Tough! I've done a lot of thinking about it and I believe I have my personal top picks. Going into Day 3 they stand as... 1) Dean Rojas 2) Michael Iaconelli 3) Randy Howell 4) Takahiro Omori 5) Casey Ashley 6) Brett Hite This is just my personal list of who I would like to win / how I would like it to play out. I hope Dean Rojas pulls off the win for multiple reasons. Having the incredible weight on Day 1 after both the late start and his 28 min penalty (he had the least time to fish). Various things I have heard throughout the Classic. The similarities between the 2004 Classic with himself and Takahiro. Lastly the look in his eyes when he said it would mean everything to him to Mercer. So even though he was someone I really was not considering on Day 1, after everything that has happened... the guy has my vote. I think it's his time to win the classic, and hope he can pull it off! 2nd Place / My second option for 1st Place, would be Michael Iaconelli. Even though he missed a fish on day one, he has really held his own in the standings... and even pulled himself within 11oz of the 1st place weight with the missed fish. Following the Live Stream, I liked how he was fishing, and felt he was doing the right thing to help him build a solid weight. I have other reasons why I would like to see him win, but as much as I would be happy with that (as he is a very close second choice), I would simply like more to see Rojas win this one because of what I mentioned above, and he has yet to win a Classic. My other placings are more complex, first I will say I really like Randy Howell, I think he is a great guy and I loved the commentary he was doing on Live, but honestly I think him not winning might help him more, simply because I see him fishing the same stuff and same baits - Granted that seems to be the right thing to do as he is in contention to win... I can't really fault him for it, and he did mention that he was "Fishing the Moment" with all the birds and current so I felt he was doing the right thing anyway. I'm still rooting for him and if he can continue to catch them good I hope he places high possibly 2nd or 3rd. Both Casey Ashley & Takahiro Omori seem to be very consistent and depending on how things go I think they both have a chance at winning it if others slip, but I feel / hope the winning weight is won by someone who is doing something different and catching those bigger fish since they both seem to be missing that kicker fish to really pull ahead of the pack. Takahiro seems to have a slight upper hand with more weight at the end of Day 2, and if they both are still consistent like the previous days I place either of them in 4th or 5th. I think both Paul Mueller & Coby Carden are great anglers and great guys, but I think it's a little early for a win, and again I am hoping Rojas can pull it off! Lastly I picked Brett Hite for 6th place. Just from what I have seen of him he is an amazing angler, and seems to also be consistent in this tournament. He has dropped from 4th on day one, down to 6th on day two, but still has 29-7. So If he can continue to catch them on Day 3, I think he could possibly move up or keep his current standing. That is just my personal list going into Day 3, and is more of what I would "like" to see, than what might "actually" happen. Honestly I would be happy with any of the top 10 guys winning. On Day 1 I was rooting for Greg Hackney, but my personal favorite is now Dean Rojas for this one. I know tomorrow the weather is said to change and anything could happen, especially with potential 20lb bags. The thing I notice is on Day 1 both Skeet & Rojas had 20lb+ bags... then when things changed it didn't work out for Skeet but Rojas was able to hold on with a solid 10lb+ bag. I hope he can continue to catch them good on Day 3, and end up winning this 2015 Bassmaster Classic. WolfyBrandon

When I take photo's of my fish I do the same thing so I can see what I caught it on. I set the bait on the side of it's mouth so it turns out good in the photo. Credits: Kevin Bullington WolfyBrandon- New Shadow Rap
- More With Buddy, Or Not?
I have to agree with A-Jay's comments, and the safety topic. I would like to spend more time fishing with a buddy, but sadly I have not found many who are as dedicated / interested, or even have the time to do it as they have other commitments. The few times I fished with a friend last year were spent more on just having fun then catching numbers, and just like Murphy's Law would have it... it's when I find myself alone, on a day I don't see many other anglers, that I seem to be catching them left and right, wishing someone was there to help me. Years prior I fished with a few guys who had more experience than me and had fished in tournaments, had both days we caught our limits and days we struggled a bit. My personal experience says I catch more when fishing alone, but have also had days struggling alone, so it depends on the fish? I don't deny the fact two heads are better than one. So I guess it would depend on who you are fishing with. WolfyBrandon- What's Your Guys Favorite Lure, rig And Way To Fish
Honestly I don't really have a specific "Favorite Lure", at least not yet that is. I really enjoy throwing all different types of baits and different rigs, so my favorite would have to be whats working best at that given time. If I had to choose I would pick something Topwater because I love the action of surface strikes, so... probably a Spook Jr. BTW: If you haven't seen the "FLW Seminar with Hank Parker" Youtube it. WolfyBrandon- Unweighted Plastics What Hooks?
The only hook I use when "Texas Rigging" soft plastics is an Offset Shank Worm EWG by Gamakatsu. The size of the hook will depend on the size of the bait. I've never had a problem with hooking fish, and that is most likely due to the EWG style of the hook. WolfyBrandon - New Shadow Rap
