  1. What do you guys think about wearing ipods/mp3 players when fishing? Do you think it makes a long day with no fish bearable? Or, do you think that it should be man and nature, with no music?
  2. I'm sure that those kids were legends there in Council Bluffs for a little while, and it is something that they will never forget. But they could have hurt themselves with the water on the floor to the gar. Also, I cannot stand it when law suits are won because of an injury that someone essentially put on themselves. It just burns me up.
  3. Awesome choice! I'm signing up to be a Marine Corps Officer the minute I graduate college! I can't wait! Congrats!
  4. Hi

Welcome! I haven't been a member here for too long, but I've learned so much from reading the forums and the "Tips and Techniques" section. I bet I've caught twice as many fish as I normally would have without the information that I've gained here. And about that monkey...good luck with getting that off. In reality, I don't think any good fisherman can get rid of him. ;D Happy fishing! Nick
  5. Lucky guy! I've always wanted to do that just to get a better idea of where the fish like to hang out. I've read all kinds of stuff about where they chill, but i think seeing it would be so much more beneficial.
  6. I like to take an old rattle trap, or something else heavy for that matter, and just hit the side of thier boat with it. It does no damage, and it gets them to leave. Not to mention, it makes me feel a bit better too.
  7. most of my life, i've been a bank fisher. and then, i would flip it up onto land, unless i had a big one. in that case, i would reel and back up at the same time, so that i wouldn't have to pick him up and risk breaking the line. now that i boat fish, i am nervous to flip, but i'm also nervous to lip. (i've had a few hooks in my hand). for me, it all depends on situation and opportunity.
  8. Mine would have to be in Idaho last summer. My grandfather and I were fishing on a river for Rainbow Trout with 6lb test and regular spinning tackle, when his drag just started going nuts and his pole doubled over. We saw this three foot salmon roll over in the water. He fought that thing for about 7 minutes before being able to bring him to shore. It was pregnant, so we realeased so there will be more in the stream.
  9. Thanks for the welcome. My buddy has a jon boat, so we'll be fishing together. I guess about a hundred bucks is the limit i'm looking for. I'm just looking for any kind of tournament really. I've been fishing my whole life, but I'm just now wanting to see what it's like to take part in a tournament. Is there a website or anything that will direct me to some of the tournament's sites?
  10. Does anyone know where or how I can find a tournament in metro Atlanta, or anywhere near there?
