Hot temp fishing ?????????
MA_bass, you should try the sunscreen in the spraycans now. Walgreen brand is fine but if you are a brand name junky then Banana Boat makes it too as I am sure others do. My girlfriend burns easier than anyone I have ever known, she used this walgreen brand in 60spf I think and she went to Ky Kingdom ALL DAY with some friends while I was on a fishing trip. She didnt burn a bit, so I tried it on my next outing. Only place I burned was a small spot that I happened to miss with the stuff and I was exposed for most if not all of the sunny part of the day. Stuff works good man, try it, and that should take care of your worries about fish liking the taste of it as you dont get it on your hands since you dont have to rub it in. Cyas, D

Color jig,Clear Water,Dark Water?
In muddy water and most times in stained water I use a Black n blue. In clear water and sometimes in stained I will use a green pumpkin. Most times I match the trailer with the jig at least kinda close. But the times when the bass have just gone ape@*(t on me is when I used that green pumpkin jig with an electric blue paca raw. I have never been bit so often and aggressively the whole time I have been fishing. Cyas, D

Berkley Powerbait BladeDancer
I bought one when they first brought them out. Cant remember the size but it was a small one maybe 1/4oz. in blood red. Anyways, the few times I tried it when nothing else would be working and I would go, to heck with it, I might as well thrown it, nothing else is producing, I didnt really get much going with it. Granted I aint the worlds best angler at this point but I do alright. I did have two good keepers I watched follow it back to the boat plus a crappie followed it back to the boat but none would actually hit it. I am sure there is something I could have done to get them to take it if I would have been more informed or something but I wasnt......so, I didnt, thus.......they didnt. Cyas, D

chatterbait-ika???
I use those Booyah Boogie baits which are pretty much glorified chatterbaits, but they do have that leverage hook system on it and I will say this, since using them I have not lost ANY fish from a thrown hook. This includes a day with a back to back fourpeat of a 3-2, 3-10, 4-12 and a 5+ all happened in about 6 or 7 casts. Not one threw the hook and they all tried their darndest to do so. (oddly enough this was about the best big fish day I have had since starting....it was dec 25th of 07). I was casting them out about 30 feet or so and letting it sink like a jig, then lift and drop while reeling in the slack slowly, lift and drop....you get the idea. I swear it felt like a jackhammer was on the end of my line when the bait would "chatter". They musta loved something about it that day, havent had the same luck since with one, but still catch with them.....and the same thing holds true, I have yet to have one throw a hook. I also set a hook pretty hard, but that leverage hook really works in my opinion. I have also run them as a spinnerbait would be run but have not caught anything with that kind of presentation. And yet another side imaging question....lol
I just got a 14ft Lowe (48 inch floor), I dont know an incredible amount about boats and the like, just a bit. Got a friends dad, who is a genius at working on boats and boat knowledge in general but he doesnt know much in the way of these newer electronics units. Question is, with this particular boat, running a 40hp Johnson seahorse, would I need a high speed kit( I am assuming not since I really wont be hitting a "high" speed)and also would I probably have to have a trolling motor transducer or would a thru-hull mount one work and if so which one would be best suited for what I am running. Sorry if any of this is scattered a bit and kinda confusing, I am trying to dispatch drivers at work while doing this as well. Gotta love multitasking! Any info or help would be greatly appreciated. Brand Worms
I personally like Berkley power baits and Zooms are usually outstanding as well. I also use Driftwood lures plastics. Dont know how easy they are to get outside Ky but they are really good soft plastics and they make some deadly tubes and trick worms. Cyas, D

Newbee mistakes
Oh man, this is the absolute best here......lol. A buddy of mine(keep in mind this guy fishes but not very much at all, hes more into bluegill and cats but still aint the brightest crayon in the box)was with us one time while fishing a pond. We were talking about the Green river system and lake here in Ky and someone made reference to the many stickups at Green river lake. Without missing a beat, and he was totally serious, my buddy says, "Theres people getting robbed at Green river?" We all fell about the place of course, laughing our fool heads off until one of us thought, well, in a way I guess that could be true. He has never lived that down though. Cyas, D

Will bass die if they swallow plastic worms?
You know, I cant say I am not guilty of doing this a couple times or so, just with the plastics. I always make my kids bring plastic bags to clean up trash at some of our favorite small fishin holes and cant stand the sight of trash at the lakes and ponds I fish. I guess this just made me think and I can say I wont be tossing plastics in the water anymore. I dont know why I didnt really give a thought to it as much as I am constantly cleaning up trash I find. Youve made one angler change the way he does things by posting this. Thanks for the info. Cyas, D
