  1. Hard to pick one but I have a shakey head tied on the most. I use it in creeks and rivers for smallies and on lakes for largemouth.
  2. Its the best glue I have used. Works great but a little expensive. But you make the money back in what you save. Its like a lure retriever for soft plastics.
  3. I am with the union but most of my family is for the confederacy of the southern states. ;D
  4. Its best to call and see what colors he has available or you may be waiting until he gets the baits done. But the baits are worth the wait. http://www.dbaits.com/
  5. Yeah the rattle trap sucks. It only won the bassmaster classic a couple years back. : A useless bait would be the motolure. http://www.chuckwoolery.com/motominnow.php
  6. One other bait thats a secret is the Cotton Cordell CC shad. Its available everywhere but isnt talked about much. Its got some downsides its light and hard to cast, its hard to tune right and some never seem to run straight. But it catches fish.
  7. I got a DT6 in bluegill. I also have a DT7 flat. I still dont know when to throw one or the other. :-?
  8. Matt will probably chime in later but I also think the ultimate bluegill is better for bed fishing. The only difference is it has fins and it falls different. Get the regular mattlures bluegill for swimming.
  9. One that is a secret kinda. Mostly only know in its region. I have been doing well on a D-Bait in the classic foil black back color. I have also been catching lots of fish on a floating evergreen jerkbait. Two baits that I am the only one throwing on my lake.
  10. Just curious if anybody who throws a scrounger alot has had sucess in dirty water. I am talking 2ft of clarity. I wasnt sure if they needed clearer water or not to be really good.
  11. What crankbait do you guys like in the 5-8ft range. What bait would you use for fishing stained water with 2ft visability and rocky banks with some wood. Personally I like the Wiggle Wart. But there are so many choices.
  12. I have some bass harrasers but I will never use them. I got them for $3 each to use as loaners when people swimbait fish with me. One way to make the action better is boil the tail and soften it.
  13. You guys hit on the definition. But one thing it doesnt take into account for fishing is on big lakes with big tributaries some secondary points fish more like main lake points.
  14. If its a question of who makes the highest quality baits and not the most variations the cheapest then I have to go with Reaction Innovations.
  15. It can be a powerful addiction Phase 1: All you think about is senkos. ;D Phase 2: You want to brush your teeth with a senkos and spend all the time you can with them. Phase 3: You want to make love to the senko. :-* Phase 4: You want the senko to make love to you. The first step is admitting you have a problem.
  16. I use alot of Yamamoto baits but Reaction Innovations makes more baits I cant do without. Sweet Beavers Skinny Dippers Big Unit Flirt worm Boom Boom tube Those are some great baits.
  17. I think its rarer than people think for fish to be spooked by the line. I cant think of once where I know a fish was spooked by the line and I did better with regualr line and I fish lots of clear water. I think most of the time when people get more bites on regular line it has to do with the line acting different and giving the bait the right action. For example braid floats and tends to dig into cover. Grass=braid in my book Its does fine with spinnerbaits and liplessbaits for me
  18. Used is the way to go but if you buy new Pfluger makes several good reels you can get cheap. Also I like the Browning Citori as well. You can get them on sale throughout the year if you live close to a bassproshop. You might even catch the high end Midas on sale for $100. Thats the only reel Marty Stone uses.
  19. If I only had a $100 to spend on tackle I would rent a gun and buy a bullet. :'(
  20. Funny I knew how this post was going to look before I even opened it. Everyone is going to defend the reel they use obviously even if they havent used the other reel. And obviously there are more people defending Curados because more people use Curados. The true undeniable truth is that it all depends what works better for each individual. I use Pfluger and Shimano reels so I own both reels. I use both but Pfluger feels better in my hands. I own 3 Patriarchs and 1 Curado if that tells you anything. As far as durability I have 2 Pfluger presidents that are well worn and they are still going strong. I also have a couple Calcuttas that are out of commision until they get worked on. I also had a chronarch once that didnt act right after a year or so of casual use. So the jurys out for me. They are both nice reels and you cant go wrong with either.
  21. I agree on the baitcast gear but your missing out not using the smaller ones. In shallow dirty water a small chatterbait does really well. You can use a spinning rod on some of the smaller ones but other than that stick with baitcasters. And I have thrown chatterbaits alot and I dont think they compare well to spinnerbaits. They cant be fished the same since they arent as weedless and their whole lift system is different. I think the are really more similar to lipless crankbaits.
  22. The most realistic bream pattern ever made is the mattlures hardbluegill if you want quality bites. The Jackall Giron is deadly as well. I like the ghost bluegill pattern the best its dead on a small bluegill. I put some small bluegill we caught in a bucket to put in another pond and put the bait in with them and it was dead on. It was the closest forage imitation I have ever seen as far as color.
  23. I got a buzzjet a couple years ago and recently added the bigger version. I love these baits for covering water when fish are biting. And they are a great night time bait. I got a couple 6in punker a year ago and added a couple 9in punkers and they are great big fish baits. I plan on getting a 5in soon as well. I had much luck on the G2 yet but I know it will have its moments. Its a cross between a wake bait, 1minus and an original shellcraker. I have 3 of the original larger shellcrackers and they are great big fish baits as well.
  24. I like the speed craw as a trailer on swimming jigs and for fishing fast when using a texas rig. I use the Chigger Craw for flipping and fishing slower.
  25. I got both and was wondering if anybody has fished with both and which one they prefer. I have played around with both. Gambler double trouble hook Pros-added weight helps casting, easier to rig Cons-available in only one size, quality control-one hook I got was too wide but it was replaced by Gambler Trutungsten Pros-3 sizes, very high quality hook, lighter if using a frog that floats thats good Cons-a mother #@$%%$ to rig its very hard to get a frog on straight and the best way I found you have to retie every time you put a new frog on Any other feedback from you guys
