Sometimes around here we will catch them on crappie jigs. My uncle once caught a 12 lber when we were crappie fishing off a dock with 6 pound line on an ultralight.

Any of you KC area guys ever fish Blue Springs Lake or Longview? I live in the area but have never fished either. Wonder if it would be worth the trip.

I carry EVERYWHERE. I don't have a boat yet, but when I do it will be no different.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I guess with the market the way it is, the ball really is in my court. The more I think about it, the more I am not sure about this boat anyway. I think if I am gonna get a glass boat, I will want more than a 90 pushing it.

I don't get home from work until almost midnight and can't ever fall asleep until about 0400. Needless to say I am not a morning person.

I want to buy a boat. No, I NEED to buy a boat. I found a used one at a local dealership that I would like opinions on. It is a 2004 Nitro NX 750 DC with a 90hp Merc. I have only seen a few pics, but it looks to be in really good condition. The listed price is $11900. I think it has been for sale for a little while and I will be paying cash, so I think I could get it for a little cheaper. So, what do you think?

I am a Police Officer. Doesn't leave much time for fishing, or much else for that matter. But, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I remember maybe 8-10 years ago the ones that only come every 17 years were around. We caught catfish on them all day and night. It was great fun.

I have had good luck there with Rebels Teeney Wee Crawfish and Crickhopper as well as small jigs and grubs.

My uncle and his friend were catfishing on the bank of a cove at the lake he lives on. His friend had a fish on and my uncle was watching him. My uncle then got a bite and his pole went sailing into the water. He took another pole, put on the biggest weight and treble hook he had and casted into the cove a few times until he caught his own line, bringing in his pole and a 12 lb channel cat.

Thanks for the warm welcome. As for the boat, I am looking for a mid 90's fiberglass boat. Nothing too nice, but enough boat to fish in tournaments some day.

My uncle and I were fishing a farm pond one time from a small boat when he caught 2 small bass on a Baby 1- on one cast. One on each treble hook. I have a picture of it somewhere.

I would say my average is almost exactly the same around KC.

Hey another new guy here. Im 25 and live in the KCMO area. Used to fish alot and then college and the police academy got in the way, but I'm back in the game. Hopefully I will be putting myself even further into debt to buy a boat in the next few weeks. Anyway, I really like the site and hope to keep learning from it.
