  1. I work at Dick's #337 Dothan AL, I can't get crap for lures, rods, reels, and such. I hear all these stores have great selection, but finding something good in the store is like finding a needle in a haystack. Just thought I'd vent about poor poor selection for a bit. I have never seen the flappin hawgs in our store at all. Its all about the location of the store. We hardly stock any reels worth a d**n... its just a poor selection for the serious fisherman...
  2. Neither... How about the netbait super twitch?
  3. Davis and Netbait go hand in hand. Can't have a jig without a beast trailer. The netbait paca chunk is salted, scented with anise oils and also has pork in the plastic. Great action and colors, you could also use the paca chunk, baby paca , or even the tiny paca which is great for the smaller bitsy bug type jigs which is what I use mostly (since i fish on the finese side) either way you can go wrong with the Netbait line of paca craws/chunks.
  4. Welcome to the forum!
  5. nice bro, sounds like we are in the same boat... no pun intended. Good luck to you with yours. I'll be sure to throw some pics up when im done.
  6. Hey man how did you measure to cut the plywood for the top of the deck? I cant figure out how to cut the wood precisely to fit inside the boat????
  7. Hey guys, I've searched the forum for re-decking a boat. I have found plenty of pics and things like that. But I have not been able to find any blueprints for extending the deck of the boat. I will post a picture of what I am working with and you guys can make suggestions. I really need help with this so thanks in advance for all the help. I want to extend the casting deck to the console... PLEASE HELP!!!
  8. Guntersville should be a blast.
  9. yeah, just been looking at the satellite pics of it. I have a feeling we will all be seeing alot of each other. Not to many places to go. I have seen a few good spots, but for the most part I am looking for isolated docks and structure. I just hope Tommy and I can get the fish in the boat this time we can get them to bite, that is important but it don't me jack if they aren't in the boat... so we'll see. This tournament should provide a degree of separation.
  10. Looking for ANY information pertaining to Gantt Lake in Southeast Alabama. Andalusia to be exact. Going to be fishing a tournament there on December 14th, really need some help as to what colors and lures to use. Thanks guys!!
  11. Going to be an early bite, usually around 5-5:30-6:30. Focus on points and fish the Carolina-rig (finesse worms and lizards) and crankbaits. Good luck to you. Hope you catch some nice spots.
  12. I have an 85 landau handler, I would LOVE to do this same thing to it. It is a good boat, but it has no storage space and I would love to extend the front platform... any suggestions. How much did you spend on wood and carpet?
  13. Just purchased the Daiwa Megaforce with the twitch'n bar. Looking for a good flipping rod to pair it up with. I am on a low budget, but want a quality product. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  14. I have heard so much about the boat/truck wraps. Some say you get paid to drive a wrapped vehicle or to drive your vehicle wrapped. I was looking to find if any of you guys have any experience with the ad wraps. It seems like a cool way to make some extra cash. If this is an inappropriate location for this post please move it to a more feasible location. Thanks guys!
  15. Caught on a private pond in Troy Alabama.
  16. I use google earth first before I do anything else. I have marked some spots. I have fished this river for bream and catfish. So I am familiar with the hidden coves and places like that. Just trying to find someone to help out with bait colors, styles, ... the works.
  17. Looking to fish the Cattahoochee River, launching from Columbia Alabama. Any and all suggestions on baits, hot spots, things to look for, etc. Looking for someone who has experience on this or a similar river. Thanks guys!!
  18. I feel as though kids today see the professional anglers with their patches, badges, decals, etc. and feel as though they must have sponsors to be a good fisherman... or to get free equipment. I learned many new things from this site. As a young angler my goal is to make a name for myself by winning tournaments. Great all around topic.
  19. Born and raised an Auburn fan. I now attend Troy University a smaller school, but we play some big names. This year we have Ohio State, L.S.U , and our "big home game," is Ball State. So I am all Trojans now! Sorry to disappoint. Thanks for the advice guys.
  20. That is an amazing feat there. He is not my favorite, but he is in my top ten.
  21. Hi all, David here first let me just say what a great site this is! I have been here one week and I have already learned so many new things, so thanks to all who willingly distribute their knowledge to help make us all become better anglers. Now on to the issue, I am 20 years old and I have never fished a tournament. I am a self taught bass fisherman, eager to get into tournament fishing. I now own a 1985 Landau bass boat ,not exactly a triton or nitro, but it floats/runs which is the primary necessity. I am here asking for tips on how to go about getting onto a tournament circuit and how to go about getting sponsors. Any and all help is much appreciated. Thanks for your time, Wacky Dave WackyDave@live.com
