Pet peave's that shouldn't be
Wow, I thought I was the only one it's happened to. I had that happen during a charity tournament. It was at the Big Catch tournament that 7-11 holds every year for either or MS or MD.Makes you wanna throw rocks at em.

Laser Lure
I was somewhat skeptical about the lure until other members of the forum came out in support now I'm tempted to see if it's really as good as advertised. Thanks Bassresource.com for finding yet another way to help me spend my cash.

Scott Martin Challenge?
I love the Scott Martin Challenge. My other is UMF (Ultimate Match Fishing). Both are less of infomercials and more just flat out fishing.

some Classic "pros" are busch league.
I'm glad I wasn't the only person who cringed when he had all 5 fish on the carpet to cull. The excess flopping on the carpet also rubbed me the wrong after all the times on the fishing shows when they tell you protect the slime coat to prevent infection. I guess for some that only matters when there's no money on the line.

Storing crankbaits: no idea
I use the Falcon FTO Crankbait boxes.

Autographed rod, should I use it?
Frame it. It's a great conversation piece plus a part of your fishing history. You can always buy another rod IMHO, but you'll probably never win a rod and get it signed by Jimmy Houston all in the same day.

What has made us all better bass fishermen?
www.bassresource.com especially the forums. Went from using only spinning tackle to doing quite well with bait-casting tackle in one season because of this place. More time spent fishing Better fishing Buddies The Internet, Versus and Outdoor Channel 2 Private ponds to experiment on, nothing better than to be able to walk the ponds alone no matter what time of day or year without having to worry about anyone else out there but me.The ponds on are on my buddy's property but I'm the only one who fishes them. Money helps too.

Fishing Magazines?
Because my wife will die when I put a computer in the bathroom. Could a laptop be in my future? Seriously though, this site is great. I second the response.

Shimano calcutta question
The spool doesn't hold alot of the high lb test line you would be using for flipping and the drag on the 50 sized reel is lighter than what you find on the 200 series also a serious consderation when flipping in heavy cover and you need to turn a fish's head.

FLW on Versus
The FLW could learn something from the way The Elite Series does their show. The announcers for the Elite Series have chemistry and make me wanna watch the show with the sound on. Zona actually makes me laugh and informs at the same time. It doesn't hurt that alot of the Elite series guys actually have a personality ,annoying or not. You remember who they are from one week to the next. I'm sure as fisherman, the FLW guys are just as good but as a marketable commodity there is some work to do. Some people are gonna say what does that have to do with fishing, not much. For a fishing show it means alot. If your product doesn't engage the viewer then it has failed. So let's hope it's better than last year.

Dumb Purchases
Storm soft swimbaits, I loved the way they always pulled to the left or right and would never track straight. I got lots of casting practice out of them since I never caught anything on them.

Sweet sassy molassy! Shimano cures all disease!
This thread should be given classic status immediately. It informed, it debated, it expounded and amused all at the same time. This is why I joined Bassresource. Thanks to everyone who posted in this thread.

Gran Torino
One movie comes to mind:Unforgiven Little Bill Daggett: Well, sir, you are a cowardly son of a *****! You just shot an unarmed man! Will Munny: Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend.

Win A Fishing Trip with Bass Pro Edwin Evers!
I wish I could afford to bid too, but I can't so I think I'm gonna do the next best thing, drop what I can into one of those red buckets that the Salvation Army has set up outside one of the stores this holiday season. That story just reminded me that while I sometimes get a little down that I can't pick up a new rod or reel that I've been wishing for that's a slight inconvenience compared to what some other people are facing this holiday season. Thanks for the post Glenn. I learn something everytime I come to the forums and not always about fishing.
