  1. Both the Lunker Lure and Boogerman are both made in Southern Illinois.
  2. No I do not. That's on my list of things to purchase in the near future, if I get a new job.
  3. like B.Lee said...go to the bookstore and get the ISBN number and then order them online. It will save you a lot of money...unless the books are brand new editions, then you're screwed.
  4. I'm heading up to Michigan for a week and staying on Elk Lake. I was wondering if anyone from that area has any information on Elk lake and Torch Lake. I'm going to be targeting smallmouth since they aren't really around Southern Illinois, but I am open to anything that is biting. Thanks Eric
  5. You should join the bass club at your school.
  6. Sometimes they don't go deep. I caught a 4.25 lb largmouth in about a foot of water last week in 45 degree water. I pulled it out of a grass mat with a jig.
  7. Frogs= Braid don't leave home without it!
  8. I just graduated with my Elementary Education teaching degree so I am a certified teacher. Until I find a job teaching, I clean and sterilize instruments at a hospital.
  9. I always have one tied on also. I do really well with the regular 1/2 oz models. I recently picked up a few in the 1/4 oz models for the more pressured lakes.
  10. I don't know how true this is or where I heard it from, but I was told that Gary Yamamoto will not sell his baits at very large stores like Walmart. Since he doesn't sell his baits at stores like Walmart, the Kinami line was introduced, which is sold at Walmart. Again, I don't know how true this is, but it kind of makes sense.
  11. Tying on a swim jig, cutting the extra line, tossing the swim jig in the water and realizing that I cut the wrong line and lost my swim jig.
  12. Same story here. I broke the door on my tacklebox and they replaced it for free. I thought that I would have to pay the shipping, but they covered that as well. Plano customer service is #1!!!
  13. I would go to the flw college fishing website and ask some of those guys about how to start a club at a school. I'm sure that they can help you out. Or you could contact some of the other schools that already fish high school in Illinois. I know Peoria has a team, as well as almost EVERY school here in Southern Illinois. Eric
  14. I really hope that you are the BEST at your school because in the central division, there is only 1 team per school fishing in all of the tournaments. Regester EARLY to make sure that your school is one of the first 40 teams to regester.
  15. I think that every team in the NFL should black ball him. Then, he'll have to show his skills in the arena league. It's people like this who ruin sports.
  16. When I first tried it, I really didn't want to like them because of the price. After using them, I really like tungsten wieghts. Like everyone is saying, you can really feel the bottom better.
  17. I have a 1636 jon boat and it is fairly stable with a front deck built on and the person in the back standing up, sometimes on the seat. I guess it's not as stable as I would like it to be, but I have never fallen out.
  18. Why not just juse a lipless crankbait and rip it out of the grass. There are plenty of reaction strikes from that.
  19. The fishing report from www.thesouthern.com. I don't fish Crab, but Little Grassy and Cedar Lake are fun, but both have a 10hp limit. Since the storm, I'm sure that there are a lot of trees that blew over that provide good cover. Friday, June 5, 2009 1:21 PM CDT Crab Orchard - Anglers are still catching some nice crappie, although number are down. Fish are being found over cover in 6-12 feet. Minnows and jigs are equally effective. Catfish anglers are still reporting good success on leeches, stink bait and cut bait. Bluegill are on the beds and can be caught on a variety of natural baits. Bass are scattered, but still being caught over shallow cover.
  20. My partner had the same thing happen in a tournament in Springfield, Illinois. An owl was swooping at his spook and he pulled it away as the owl sat on the "perfect laydown." Since he didn't want to catch an owl, he wouldn't cast to that spot, but I did with my buzzbait and the owl flew away. I'm just glad that my partner didn't actually land the owl.
  21. Is there a trolling motor with the boat??? The lake that rents boats where I live don't come with a trolling motor. To me, that is pretty important, depending on what you are fishing for. I would go with the 15. You can always throttle down, but you can't go faster with a 9.9.
  22. Please stop starting or ending all of your posts with haha. Why are you laughing???
  23. I go to Southern Illinois University and am a member of the Saluki Bassers in the Central Division with too many schools where only 1 team from each school can fish.
  24. Member of the Saluki Bassers at Southern Illinios University at Carbondale. If you go to Collegefishing.com, there is plenty of information on how to start a club at your school.
