I have a 7'M Zillion paired with an Alphas 103 and 12lb Seaguar Red Label. The techniques I use most with it are jerkbaits, tubes, finesse jigs, shakey heads, Ikas,and smaller texas rigs. I have had no problem fishing jerkbaits on it and it is probably the perfect action, to me. I usually fish 1/4oz weights in mine, the Veritas may be better suited for heavier presentations but I wouldn't choose it over the Zillion when sensitivity is a priority.

I felt the same way until last year. I originally felt like a jig was for fishing heavy cover with heavy gear and weights (7'6''H-XH flipping stick with 3/4-1 1/2oz weights). I had no confidence in them and had only caught one small bass on a jig. I also made the mistake of buying a jig kit from BPS when I first started fishing, it was just full of things I won't use, heavy weights, terrible hooks and skirts, and they were pretty much all black jigs, no real color choice. I finally made myself use them this year and was surprised by how easy they were able to be fished when I mathced the type of jig to my fishing style. Before I had changed how I fished to fish a jig, but when I downsized the profile and weight, it felt more comfortable for me to fish. I usully fish everything under 1/2oz and on 12lb line so trying to fish a 3/4oz jig just didn't fit me. I started fishing 1/4, 5/16, and 3/8oz jigs with small craw trailers and had almost ymmediate success. I now fish a jig almost every outing.

I use 10lb CXX for mid-deep and 12lb Floro-clear for shallow-mid . I've tried several types of lines for crankin and prefer P-line for moving techniques.

from the list I would say Avid....The Dobyns Savvy and Powell Max rods are right up there too but not listed.

use to use an oldham style weedless jighead from BPS but I switched to the Lindy E-Z weights. Alot easier and quicker and don't require you to retie everytime the tube tears up.

I had 2 of the Revo Ss, didn't like them....felt stiff and grindy, casted terrible, and just didn't feel good at all. I have a Citica and like it. never fished a Tierra.

really like the looks of the team series rod....not much on the price

If I could build and arsenal from the reels that I have, it would be full of Alphas/Sols, Curado 50s, a few e7s and e5s, and probably a few Zillions.

Not true...it's all relative to your location. Where I live, I'd never switch to Verizon, AT&T has WAY better coverage. Verizon is hit or miss within feet for service in some places, even worse where I went to college. I personally don't have many problems with AT&T.

I have a 7'MH Cranking rod and really like it. It's not the lightest rod in the world but great for what it does. It has a tremendous amount of backbone and power but has a pretty soft tip that translates very quickly, at first it feels really stiff but the tip has some flex. It's not a great rod for light baits but it will rocket an RC 1.5 and does very well with deep divers (Fat Free Shad, SK Series 6 and 6XD). I've not had any experience with the graphite series rods but I've been intersted in the spinning rods for a while but I'm confused by the powers and ratings, take a look and you will be too :-/ .

for me it's aesthetics, if I like the way it looks with a foregrip then fine but if I don't then I wont buy it. I have some rods with foregrips and others without and really haven't seen any functionality other than on my muskie rod. I personally prefer a foregrip that is used as a hood or cover for the threads of the reel seat.

I am a big fan of the 704 powell, to me, it's a very well rounded rod and very versatile. It's not a broomstick heavy but rather fishes right between a true MH and H (if there is such a thing). It handles 1/4oz and up very well, I've fished everthing from t-rigs, jigs, and tubes to shakey heads and spinnerbaits on them. Just thought I'd give you a little info. They are a great rod and that's a great price.

I haven't used them but I have really considered the 7'2''L as a bluegill/crappie/small bait bass rod. I tried to get one from a local tackle store but they didn't have them for sale at the show they went to. I will be going to BPS in a week or two and wonder if they have them in-store.

They have also replaced Clunn on "The Bass Pros" and done away with The Art of Angling section on the show. Atleast the "new" JM reel is a good color, I didn't care too much for the purple. Bass pro tends to change the colors and call it a new reel like the instore tournement reels. I like what they did to the Bionic Blade but they need to re-do the Extreme line.

I have to say Powell as well. There are two 704 rods in the flea market right now...not to mention he is offering a free rod with them...I'd get a 704 and the pro qualifier.

I'd give Seaguar Red Label a try...it's like 10.99 a spool and fishes very similar to XPS FC. I am also a CXX fan and would suggest that and CX.
