  1. DIG Cart, DIG!!..........good boy
  2. Or you could have gone and zeroed and had a motor malfunction that cost you $500. Would have, could have, should have,....ain't no place for that with your record bud. If anything, the big girls got the day off for some R&R for a change You'll get 'em her when the time is right and that just wasn't today, as much as your bones tell you otherwise,...in time,......like I said in the other post,....c'mon 26 Anticipating being a witness if/when it happens makes me think of you as our Barry Bonds of fishin',....without the juice of course, lol
  3. Now you got me thinking about a big brother program for the kids in these programs. Here, in RI, it's called "Tuesday's child". I bet there are kids in orphanages who would love to go fishing.......hmmmm
  4. same here cajun, nothing crazy about that though, we need to conserve water during the dry months, I guess it's not that way out in Utah.
  5. Yesterday, bright blue sky, 90 degrees. I made my way past a cove and when I peered in there were fish busting the top all over the place. WHAT? yup, all over the place. The problem is, most fish that will hit a bait on top in bright sun, are most often small, aggressive males. These particular runts were feeding on all the fresh baby dragon flies. For big fish in the hot sun, GO DEEP!!!! Worm/jig/beaver Find the deep grass, you've found the big bass
  6. There's no comparison. To qualify as a shaky head the front hemisphere of the jighead must be "spherical". Brent's jig is a ball-head jig, but the Spot Remover has a broad flat that tends to steady the lure, making it an "anti-shaky" worm. With all due respect, the flat-bottomed Spot Remover is a great jig with plastic crayfish (yum crawbug, zoom critter craw, paca craw), but a finesse worm is mucho different. Roger Brent sent me some of those heads in the last order, they have the ones with the flat side too, at least those were the ones I got.
  7. Shoot me a price for the 500. Assuming it's a bit more than a usual 500 of something that isn't custom. I would throw that color alllll day long.
  8. That first pic looks like a boat that sure did hold up over time, that thing looks immaculate (from here anyway)
  9. we missed you Jim! Hope all is well, I feel like I missed something here. Because of my migraines, I enrolled for a national neurological study. Aside from having 7 neurologists instead of 1, I also have a full work up every 8 months. If nothing else, it's nice to be given that clean bill of health telling me I don't have Aids, Diabetes,Cancer, etc. No wondering when you are tested so often.
  10. 1. Make sure everyone around me knows how much they have meant to me. When I go, I want nothing left unsaid 2. Bring my invention to market (working on it) 3. Bring fishing to as many people, especially kids, as possible (trying) 4. Get back to Chile and actually see some of the country this time. Of all the countries I've traveled to, this one really piqued my interest. 5. Have a job I look forward to going to 6. Make sure that anything "good" I've done or started. has the roots to continue growing after I'm gone. and of course,...... 7. Catch a 26 lb bass and a 120+lb Tarpon on the fly
  11. It's a shame you won't catch squat! Wrong bait for those conditions and that lake isn't a very good choice in ANY weather. You can throw for the next 3 months but you're gonna zero. Sorry bud, that's the way it is. (I specialize in reverse psychology and I am assuming Fish is the kinda guy that likes to shut a loud mouth ) Now everybody sit back and watch how this works,.....mark my words...... ...............C'mon 26
  12. My guess would be it snapped the line and then digested the jighead. I caught a bass with a hook coming out of the anus and a split shot and worm completely hanging out. It happens. LMAO
  13. That's awesome, glad you guys got to meet up. This sounds like how I learned to fish a jig. I got sick of catching small fish throwing at the bank while dirk threw off the opposite end of the boat catching fish twice the size of mine,...consistently. A guy can only take so much of that!! Bright sunny days,...go deep!!! Deep grass especially Ronnie,....you mind as well build a little pen for that skunk, ...looks like he's taking a liking to your company! I mean, I don't blame him, but......what gives??? Watch,..2nd, 3rd week in November,....NJ state record on a fly rod!! I'm thinking your saving all your mojo for that 1 cast
  14. Noone "did" it to her, she swallowed it.
  15. Not if they were born and raised in Boston and insist on displaying that Yankee logo wherever and whenever they can!! That's not a fan, that's a traitor. > (and someone begging for attention, lol)
  16. Enjoy your vaca buddy
  17. the last few weeks, we have been pushing the start time back further and further as the night bite has been a good one and the bite has been shutting down hard after sun up till late morning, early afternoon when it picks up again. With this in mind, we have been leaving the house by 1am, on the water by 2. Off by 9ish and back on after dinner.
  18. Fantastic restore job! I think I will keep your link around for oher members, hope you don't mind but the tutorials for restore jobs are always a big help for those people about to tackle a new project. Great job, good luck with her!
  19. Just so you know, you can pull pretty much any size jon boat with a car. Don't need a truck. Have you guys considered kayaks? You can put them on your head and walk in.
  20. If you still have issues, PM Alpster. He knows this stuff inside and out, it's what he does for a living
  21. Awesome! And I'm not the least bit surprised at who the member was, not one bit, way to go Captain!
  22. I think it's safe to say that Matthew is the man, removing that jig head from what looks to be a very uncomfortable and possibly life threatening spot. Nice save Matthew!!

Best in weeds-1/8 oz- full size hook -Nicols mango jig -terminator finesse jig -Bico jig -Rocky ledge finesse -Micro munch -ew's grass jig
  24. Well, I got the trusty "remove anything" Rapala pliers out and this hook was too deep even for them so, seeing as how it was feeding fine and all, I got my knife out (because the cutting part on the pliers cant get at the "root" of line) and cut the snell as close as I could to the gullet before releasing her back to the night.
