Very cool. Caught one yesterday morning, in the dark. Brought the fish in (small one) and traced the line down to the jaw. Grabbed the jaw and continued tracing the line to the hook. It was stuck,....but wasn't embedded in any flesh. In the dark, How trippy is this??? That's my red hook, caught in the snell loop someone had cut off from a previous gut hook.

Even private ponds have to adhere to DNR rules and reg.s and I'm pretty sure "shot gun" isn't on the list for acceptable means of harvest. You originally came on about a post making it sound cool and macho to "blow away" a snapping turtle because you think he's the reason for the dead fish you saw. Then you go and put it on your parents,..."they asked me to" and it just gets worse from there. You seem to "understand" the ethical standpoint but at the same time can't just say "hey, I screwed up, lesson learned". Personally, I think I'd sit back and just read when it came to these posts.

It is not a buying situation. It is a show where companies launch the next yrs product for press releases and first looks for buyers and others in the industry. No sales going on. It does move. Next year it is in Florida.

We stocked the pond full of bass, bluegill, and fathead minnows to replenish the pond environment. We had a professional come out and make sure all the number of fish were equal and essential to a healthy pond...he did NOT say anything about a turtle! So we got rid of it to reassure that the pond environment we created remained balanced. Get another professional. that turtle is (was) older than him and your parents. Chances are, he's been (was) a resident there since birth. I understand listening to your parents but they are capable of being educated too. If you gave it some thought, you could have come here and asked advice. We could have pointed you in the direction needed for you to educate your folks. Either way, I don't see this going anywhere positive. Lets just leave it alone and all think twice about posting things we may regret. Moving on...

Soaked, Impaled, spun in circles and almost hit with a boat by Carl,lol.

We all know an algae bloom is a drag because it mucks up your lures and is tough to get a jig through, etc My question is, is it bad for a lake? I know lakes that never had algae that now do, is this a cycle? Natural? Will it leave as it came, in a cycle or is it there to stay unless steps are taken to treat it? (I have a strong feeling George will know this one so I tagged his name to the title, thanks)

Sounds like me when I used to do upholstery, I think I'm the only person to cut something too small,.....twice,lol. Now, I'm all for doing it right but if there is a reason it had to be cut short, try wedging something in there. Think round. Something with the same diameter as the gap that you could wedge in there. Hose, rope, etc, something like that.

Starboard-No Slippery as a footing surface. How about regular deck paint on the plywood? Use the kind with a grit in it for footing. Rubber mats? Great on the knees too plastic grid-lock squares, like they use for kids play rooms

I got this formula from Minn Kota before. I just checked their site and it has been redesigned, couldn't find it. Email them, I'm sure they will pass it on.
