Walk the Dog lures on constant reel
This might be a little off cause its mainly used for saltwater and stripers. The Shimano Waxwing is a constant retrieve and gives a walking the dog action. It's a little below surface to work, but not much. http://www.cabelas.com/product/SHIMANO-SUSPENDING-WAXWING/1932227.uts?productVariantId=4058482&srccode=cii_17588969&cpncode=45-129393039-2&WT.tsrc=CSE&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=04068116&rid=20

A-Mart cranking with 8:1:1 reel?
I know Goose, Maybe i'm doing it all wrong but i found all the reels i use now are 30-32 IPT. When using square bills, spinnerbaits, lipless, chatterbaits..I can feel the lure's speed by the rod tip. I'm the motor!!

A-Mart cranking with 8:1:1 reel?
How does a plastic crankbait know what gear ratio your using? That's like a transmission in a car, knowing what motor its behind.

Crap, I need a new go to line
Izorline XXX, or premium I like premium for leader material for braid, more than a overall line. XXX i like for an overall line. I don't use line conditioner

Curado 300e
Fill it up with braid and go use it on the water...Bet your problem will be solved. Or go to the park and tie to a tree, let out as much line as you can. When you reel in make sure you have plenty of tention and, aim the rod tip at the tree.

Curado 300e
It;s not the nature of the high capacity reel or the braid that your using. Is it getting so bad in the middle, the braid is hitting the frame? Did you over fill it with braid? Pic would help...

Curado comes out with a new 50. When are they gonna come out with a new 300 lo pro
What #PP are you using? I have 40#regular PP on my 300e, and have no problems. Seems really odd that a reel would bunch up in the middle and not on one of the sides.

New to flushing bearings
Depends what the bearings were lubed with prior. Grease, i like to use acetone first. second cleaning i will just use a good de greaser. If my bearings are open, i will put them in really hot water (pre boil) and blow them out with Air really good. As far as oil, any thin oil for spool bearings. Thicker oil, or grease for frame bearings. Oil is alot easier to clean second time then grease. TSI 321 is my fav for spool bearings. Frame bearings, thick gear oil. Also, if their Quantum PT bearings, I only use de greaser, no acetone. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/supertune-baitcaster.html

Braid To Fc Knot : Alberto Or Double Uni ?
One trick i use after the alberto failed on me a couple times is snap lock the knot. instead of a steady pull for the final tightening, is to put both hands on either side of the knot, with slack and jerk the lines apart with a fast jerk. I only use five wraps up and five back on any pound test i use, hasn't failed since.

Quantum Reels
You can still find a right hand, 100 size,7.0-1 Smoke for 100 bucks at American Legacy. My first quantum, really like it so far.

How Long To Soak Bearings?
I also use Hot water after soaking my bearings in Simple Solution. Just before it boils hot water, and swish them around in a Stainless steel tea bag holder. Then blow them out with compressed air, and spin test. If they are sluggish I then use brake cleaner, but don't always need to. Only do it to a bearing with at least one shield off. Haven't had one fail yet, using hot water.

Cabela's Prodigy Casting Reel Maintenance Q
In the last pic you have it upside down. The clutch gear goes in between the brass part. I don't think you even need it. only reels I own that have them are Shimano's. I took them out.. Its a back up for the Anti reverse bearing if it fails. Edit: actually I think it is the right way. but put it between the clutch gear, and the other end has to jam against that little post.

Bearing Recommendation For Chronarch 51E
Another cheap suggestion is to get some TSI oil. I got 321 (so I don't have to worry about plastics). Great stuff!

Do Bass Know When The Lake Is Stocked With Trout?
Two weeks ago I got to witness this. Was fishing all alone, when all the sudden the truck came and dumped. Here come all the big bait throwers. Was pretty cool watching a guy catch two 15# striper and another guy catch one around 11# both throwing Deps. The striper were all caught with in two cranks of the handle, after the cast, as if the striper were staged waiting for the trout to go out deeper. I caught a LM before the dump, nothing after.

Good Finesse Baitcaster 1/8 - 3/16 Oz Baits
The Helios Air is the most versatile reel ive ever owned. Can throw light weight baits and 3\4 ounce baits effectively. I was Carolina riggin with it Friday.
-
Good Finesse Baitcaster 1/8 - 3/16 Oz Baits
Two actual reels that I do own that throw light weight better than a 50E supertuned, with no spool upgrade is... under 200 is ***, and over 200 is Helios Air. That's all throwing a 4" yum dinger wacky rigged weightless and a 1\8 ounce plus 2" grub on the same rod, line, etc...

Okuma Komodo
I own both the Komodo and regular Helios. Both are pretty much the same real besides the Drag's. The Komodo has a multi drag stack and the drag is smoother. But the Helios seems to be a better reel to me over all. I wouldn't pay over 160 for either one, shop around and you can find good deals on them. Even better if you want to spend over 180, is the Helios Air. Great over all caster from 1\4 - 3/4, and is lite weight.
