  1. I was out last weekend and the water temps were starting to scare 90 degrees. When it gets that hot the bite really shuts down except for those short feeding periods, normally early and late. It's normally not worth taking the chance of heat stroke or exhaustion IMO.
  2. It seems clear the guy is a self centered ego maniac. All this side show is doing is distract the fans and team from the real work ahead and the new season. The guy just needs to ride off into the sunset. Give it up Brett.
  3. Exactly how my wife got her identity stolen. She bought a car and did the whole loan application, turns out the identity thief had someone working inside the loan dept. of the dealership that was giving him info. The thief, who lived in one of the worst parts of town, set up a phone line and proceeded to run up a $1000 phone bill in my wifes name before the line was cut off. She only found out when she attempted to get another Charge card and the outstanding bill was on her credit report. Most of the calls had been made to various prisons in and around the St Louis area. : Getting that straightened out was a mess.
  4. It definitely sounds like you need one of those bass n walleye, multi-purpose aluminum boats given what you want to do with it.
  5. Guessing there's no Jiffy Lubes in Qatar?
  6. St louis news has talked about Twain but mostly the water being dumped into the Salt river and the flooding downstream.
  7. You're going to research how to drive a bass boat? Shouldn't you have done that before you got onto the water with other human beings?
  8. I would seriously rethink those Tahoe Q series boats, especially if you're thinking of fishing. Those are basically an open bow ski boat with a pedestal base socket installed and a removable TM mount. They'd be better called a ski and uncomfortably fish boat. From what I can see, the poor person in the front is jammed up into the front with little if any room. The person in back is stuck sitting on the I/O doghouse. There's virtually no storage at all in those things. Look into the standard Fish and Ski's they make. Not that those are a whole lot better on the fishing side of the equation but they beat the heck out of those Q boats.
  9. good luck it seems to me you'll need to save money to pay a tutor to help you with grammar in the future
  10. Slightly OT but... stop sleeping during English class. Long Mike may be along in a while to further expound.
  11. If you remember those old I/O bass boats of days gone by, the first thing that comes to mind is the poor guy fishing on top of the doghouse in the back of the boat. Putting a pedestal on top of it would've put the guy in the back w-a-a-y up in the air and made the boat somewhat tippy. Not really a problem with todays boats but the engine inside the boat instead of hanging off the back really eats up needed storage space.
  12. Thats why it is called fishing and not catching, and that is why most fisherman are always broke... d**n bait monkey. I can honestly say that rage tail lures work great for me. Have you checked to make sure you are using the correct hook?? Alot of time hook size will help yu catch your fish. Also check out strike kings website it shows how to rig them properly. Fine tuning the bait with hook selection can only happen if the fish are actually striking at the bait. That's what's been missing in my scenario. I've used both Gammie and Eagle Claw wide gaps but attempting to blame the hooks when I've had a total of 2 short strikes in about 6 trips using them isn't the answer. I'll probably go again this weekend to my weed lake, this time putting the rage tails up head to head with a couple buzzbaits and see the results. So far, the baits look really, really good going through the water but the fish seem less impressed.
  13. 1988 Nine NASCAR Winston Cup events won on Hoosier racing tires. 1989 NASCAR Daytona 500 won on Hoosier racing tires. 1994 Re-Entered NASCAR's Winston Cup Circuit, winning 4 races with Geoff Bodine. Hoosier tires were also on the car of pole sitter Rick Mast in the inaugural running of the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis. 1994 Decision made to withdraw from Winston Cup circuit due to cost ramifications of race "tire counts" I seem to recall they did pretty good considering their short stint in the sport.
  14. Plasma's have the best picture but They still have burn-in issues, mostly a problem for gamers. They use a lot of electricity, more than LCD's or lamp based rear projectors. They get pretty hot, much hotter than the other 2 formats. Because of this they're more prone to break down. They're also very heavy. It's not surprising that most of the major manufacturers are moving away from Plasma technology and focusing on LCD.
  15. If you're looking for 10lb bass I can think of better places in the state to fish than LOZ. Truman, Table Rock (fishing is tough here though) Cypress lake and Farm ponds come to mind. The best time to fish for fish over 7lbs at LOZ is the Feb - APR pre-spawn season. The lake regularly turns over it's share of fish up to 10lbs. I've had several trips that I've boated multiple fish of 6+ lbs during that time of the year. The rest of the season you'll be fishing for fish in the 3-5lb range as a good fish. Don't get me wrong, it's a great fishery and not really hard to fish once you adapt to the lack of natural cover, the boat traffic on the weekends and start to figure out the boat docks along with the associated brush piles. It just doesn't have a population of fish in the 10lb range, then again, a 10lber anywhere in MO. are few and far between.
  16. First Michelin screwed up the tires at the USGP F1 race at Indy a couple years ago resulting in a fiasco and now Goodyear with Nascar. One thing that remained constant though, in the F1 race, the Bridgestone tires had no problems, the Indy racing league has also had zero tire issues when running the Firestones in the 500.
  17. I'm starting to think the rage tail lures are. I've fished 3 different lakes with these with only a couple short strikes to show for it. In the mean time the baits are getting torn up. Not a big deal if the things weren't costing $1 each.
  18. You're in luck. http://www.catchlargemouthbass.com/product2.html All the secrets you need to know are right here. He's a famous fishermen too. Look at the testimonials.
  19. There are two types of flippin switches. The first, as already described, allows the spool to turn until the thumbar is released and then instantly engages the reel without needing to turn the handle. The second type, is seen on the Shimano Castaic and a couple Pflueger reels. That switch will instantly re-engage the reel when the button or switch is depressed.
  20. These guys have made the windshields for most of the major boat manufacturers over the years. Custom Mold & Tint Inc 1991 Highway 425 S Monticello, AR 71655-9797 Phone: (870) 367-7083
  21. Do the usual, check the floors for softness and the transom. Have the engine checked by a pro. This is probably the infamous 195 model in either the T(dual console) or V (single console). The storage in that model is incredible. The transom was a full 4" thick, nearly twice what everyone else was producing. You still need to check the transom for integrity. Great boat in rough water, hope speed is not on your list of must haves. BTW, Charger boats have always been well made. The company is around 33 years old and has been building them in Richland Mo. since their ***.
