  1. Sucks for you dude these rage tail baits are tha next best thing since slice bread. Maybe you just need to experement with ways to make them work. I've been having great sucess with the frogs, maybe you should try them.
  2. I went to my local tackle shop today and was talking to them about the new reels. They were getting them in in two weeks. They also told me that the new curados didn't come in the 6:1 only the 7:1 and 5:1. Has anyone else heard this? Is it true? The 6:1 was the ones I normaly buy.
  3. Yea reel mech I've been doing alot of research but it doesn't answer alot of questions that I have. Thats what you guys are for. I've been intrested in rod building for a year or so but realy started looking into it hard for the past two weeks. I haven't made any purchases yet becouse im not quite sure what to buy. Like the reel seats, what are the different sizes? How do I know what grips to buy and the peices on top of the grips(i can't remember the name)? I'm looking to build a fairly cheap rod to start because I know it gunna come out bad. I've talked to a guy at swamp land rods, don't know if ya'll ever heard or delt with them but they got some close outs on castaways that'll get me started. Plus they're in driving distance from me. So if theres any advice ya'll could give me or any sites I should look at please fill me in I'm willing to learn. Thanx :)
  4. Its still a very nice rod. Don't beat yourself up.
  5. I've found them. Castaway makes there line. Swamp land tackle is getting them there was something wrong with the seat so there coming out with an improved model. Thanx anyway.
  6. He'll be on bourbon and will forget all about fishing.lol
  7. I've seen these fully exposed real seats like the one on the carrot stik. where can I find these at? Ive looked at four different places and have not found them. I did see that castaway has makes them but could not find were to buy them.
  8. The rage tail is my number one pic. I've caught so many fish on this frog compared to all others I've tryied. The action it makes is awesome. I've thrown this frog all day on a blue bird day and killed 'em. I think the scum frog and spro get to many short strikes.
  9. Awesome cant wait
  10. We need to take over the whole middle east and drop our gas prices!

I'm just getting into this and I'm about to order the stuff I need to start. I was wondering If I should just buy one of those rod kits to start or put one together on my own?
  14. Louisiana on da map....HOLLA!!!!!
  15. Quantum tour 6 to 1 7' tas 80 lb spider wire stealth zoom 6/0 frog hook tiped with a glass bead 2 pks of green pumkin with chartruese belly (the best) That was some tuff slop to fish. The trolling motor didnt like it at all but the fish love as you can see. Its so hot down here that the fish bury under it. The only thing I can do is throw a frog or hit the holes. I've tryed using a 1 1/2 tungsten weight an that didnt even go threw it.
  16. Yea I don't know y
  17. I decide to go out this evening just for a little while. I left around 4:30 right after a good rain. By the time I got out there the clouds were gone and tha sun was blazing. I started out throwing the magnum fluke and a power bait worm on a offshore grass flat. I fished it hard for about an hour without a sniff. So I ran to fish some wind blown points and again I bombed out. I was running out of patience. I went for my last option. I started fishing some real heavy grass mattes with the rage tail frog (I luv this frog). Then 3 hours into the trip with an hour and a half left I catch my fist fish, a nice 3 1/2 lber. It felt good to finaly get my rod bent and to start gaining confidence. This was just the begining of a good evening. I ended up catching about 15 fish total with 4 of them over 4 lbs. and this nice 5 lber. That rage tail frog is an awesome lure I've had some really great days with it and today will go on that list.
  18. Im looking to get into rod building and was wondering if some one could tell me about any books or videos that I should get. I've been intrested in this for some time.THANX
  19. they're both awesome they're shimano but to answer your question chronarchs are a nicer reel. I have three of each and I tend to fish the chronarchs more.
  20. Yea the creature was my other option but the fish i've been catching on the jig has had me hooked. I just thought there may have been somthing I was not doing or doing wrong. thanx!
  21. I've been fishing jigs consistantly for a year. I"ve had alot of sucess with it so far. The problem im having is the grass. Its growing in so thick Im loosing confidence in the jig. It seems like it gets stuck in it and it dont look natural. Im using a fairly weedless jig but how weedless can they realy be? I've tried numerous methods. Pitching holes, ripping threw it, and fishing the edge. None of it feels like it did a month or so ago. The jig has become one of my favorites so i'd hate to have to put it down for awhile. I cant realy vertical fish with a 4' depth max. Im stumped. will the bass still hit it with grass on it? Im using a 1/4 oz booyah jig with a 7-6 rod. WHat should I do or is there some other jigs I can try that are more weedless? :-? :-? :-?
