  1. I have the following boxes. 1.5's 2.5's Wake baits Jerk baits Traps 4-8 ft divers 8-12 ft divers 12-16 ft divers 16+ ft divers 10xds and lucky craft magnums
  2. I just fished the BCB National Championship up in north Arkansas. Bought about $500 worth of baits to use up there...tubes, wiggle warts, drop shot, finesse jigs, Lucky Craft cranks in ghost wtml craw, bone colored sammys, and piles of jerkbaits! Finished up in 2nd place and caught most fish on a shad rap and a spook
  3. Im a fan of a 5:1 gear ratio reel for deep cranking. I throw deep cranks on 16lb sunline sniper and have caught tons of fish with it. It works for me...
  4. Yep, winter fishing can be great! You have the whole lake to yourself. And winter is a great time to catch a big sack too. Punching and reaction type baits seem to work best for me.
  5. 16lb Sunline Sniper. Has a very small diameter for 16lb line and is tough as nails and casts great!
  6. Thanks man! We had a blast. When we first got on Bull Shoals my buddy threw a quarter in the water and we counted it down over 13 seconds. Only reason we lost site of it was because it darted under the boat LOL!!! It's a completely different world up there. Had to learn to adjust to changing weather conditions and ultra clear water and NO GRASS! We were a little over a pound from winning it, had a few fish on that would have won it for us, but couldn't execute. Dropped a 4 first morning on Crown Lake on a 78 pointer. That fish hurt bad. Them Basscat boys really took care of us though. All expenses paid and got a little check for 2nd place. When I first got there Rick Pierce and Kevin Short already knew me by name. It was a blast hanging out with those guys.
  7. I've never even seen a duck hunter on the lake. Always see ducks though. Shaneus, if you really wanna see some ducks, holler at me one day and I take you out on catahoula lake. We kill a 300-500 a year out there and see millions. It's one of, if not the best duck lakes in America.
  8. Yep, that and main mouth of main creeks.
  9. Yea, I don't think I'll be punching with 65lb braid up there lol...I wasted about $300 on junk that I'll never fish again once I get back. Wiggle warts, Ned rigs, jigging spoons, green crawfish cranks, ect. It's gonna be cold too!!
  10. I won't be back for a little while. I'm heading up to Arkansas Saturday to fish the Basscat championship, then need to start learning Rayburn for the Texas Team Trail in January.
  11. The grass is matted in a lot of areas. I like to punch with a sun perch looking jig. I believe the bigger fish key in on bream in that grass.
  12. That is a good deal! I havent personally used the KLX but everyone I talk to who have say its the best sub $200 rod there is. Hope you enjoy them!!
  13. Tell that to the bass
  14. Powell endurance 714 is a sweet jig rod!
  15. Good luck and let us know how you do. If you punch, look for deep grass points close to channel swings.
  16. I use 1.5oz hack attack jigs normally. I punch both, but rather punch deep edges.
  17. Gotcha. Glad y'all caught a few. The punch bite should just be getting better and better right now!
  18. I have 1 medium, 1 mh, 4 Heavies, and 1 XH Crankin rods!
  19. Did you try to punch any?
  20. A football jig is one of the best deep water baits around...
  21. Sounds like you need braid...
  22. Shouldn't affect them much. A cold front this time of year normally is a good thing, may get em a little more active.
