So Yall Want To Learn Toledo Bend?
Well, got on the lake a little later than I wanted to yesterday. Didnt get there until noon. Fished until 7:00. Lets just put it this way...I whacked em! Top 5 went 35lbs. I figure I caught close to 300 fish yesterday, about half whites and half blacks. Biggest fish went 8.5lbs along with two 7's and two 6's, not to mention all the other 4-5lb fish. PM me for details, dont really want to put too much info out there for everyone in the world to see...I'll have 500 boats on me next week. By far, the best day of my life! Wdycrankbait got to see a few of them. I will try to get some pics later if I can.

Been Seeing Cumaras On Sale Lately...
Why on earth would they do away with a rod that is selling too good? If this were the case, wouldnt they do away with the rod that isnt saleing as much? I bet we see a new and improved Cumara soon!

Are You Better Than A Bucket Fisherman?
I was in a tournament last Saturday. At weigh in there were 8 dead fish weighed. Then when I went to put my boat back on the trailor, I say 3 more floating and numerous fish just kinda sitting there in the grass waiting to die. There was a total of about 100 fish caught and I would say at least 12 of them died. C&R is definatly better than catching and filleting everything. If I catch 100 fish and I fillet em all, then obvioiusly all 100 die. If I release them all, then obviously the majority of them live. THe OP point is that IF the "bucket fisherman" only catches his legal limit of 5 and then leaves, then all 5 of his fish die and he has taken 5 fish from the fishery, whereas a C&R fisherman will not stop at 5 and may continue to catch 100 and 10 of them die. Now in this situation, the C&R fisherman took 10 fish from the fishery whereas the "bucket fisherman" only took 5. Now for my thoughts. Why get your panties all in a wad over bass. Believe me, I hate to see those dead fish floating around at the weigh in, but for goodness sakes, it just a fish. I do my best to prevent killing fish that I plan of releasing and will continue to do so because I know that our fisheries depend on it, but how can you say that your any better than a man who keeps his legal limit? Got news for you guys, bass taste good. As a matter of fact, they are my favorite fish to eat. I may keep 50 fish a year out of the few thousand that I catch and I enjoy them. WHy shouldn't I? WHy shouldn't any other "bucket fisherman" be able to enjoy them also as long as he is within his legal limit? If "bucket fisherman" are damaging fisheries, then the legal limit needs to be changed and/or some people need to be calling W&F if you see someone keeping over the limit. What good does it do to look down on a fellow fisherman when he has done nothing wrong?

Been Seeing Cumaras On Sale Lately...
I dont know for sure...but I highly doubt that Shimano is doing away with the Cumara. Its too good of a rod to just toss. I have a feeling that we will see a new Cumara line released at ICast this year...

Haha...well then come on down here and spend a week on Toledo Bend in March! I garuntee you will catch something bigger than 5lbs. May want to buy some bigger line before you come though Heck, I can bring you to almost any local lake and catch quite a few fish over 4lbs in a week of fishing in March, not to mention the possiblity of a 10+.

Sweet Beaver???
Try the Missle "Da Bomb" beaver. It blows the rest out of the water. Softer plastic, ribbed body, and thin tails that move alot on the glide!

Mad Paca And Rage Hawg

'wacky' Ways To Rig A Carolina Rig.
Ive never fished a wack worm on a C-Rig,but I have fished some out of the box ideas on them and caught fish... 1. Crankbait-it floats above the bottom and when you drag it it pulls down and digs into the mud then floats back up. 2. Jerbait-same concept as the cranbait, just a different profile 3. Swimbait-can be killer on deep water humps and ledges!

Cumara Vs Loomis Imx/glx...
I have a 7'2" Cumara M/XF and it is a pretty nice rod. I havent found a specific use for it yet though. I have a 7' MH/F Avid for T-Rigs and I feel that the Avid is a little more sensitive in my hands, but I would rather the extra 2" of the Cumara for it. I have throw wacky worms and jerbaits on the Cumara and it hanled them decently and alos chatterbaits. To me, the 7'2" Cumara is a great all around rod and can handle most anything you put on it in the >3/8oz range. It is comfortable to fish and I would say that I would buy it agian.

How Light Of A Line On A Bc?
Man its so different down here. I spool 12lb on my crankbait rods, and I consider that LIGHT. Everything else is between 15lb-65lb. I use alot of 20lb floro. There are just too many big fish and thick cover down here in LA I guess.

Louisiana Fishin'
Well, Saturday on Black Lake turned out to be exactly what I expected. Started in my first spot and caught my 5 keepers in about 10 minutes on a jerkbait, one 2 lb fish and the other 4 just small swimmers. Fished it until 11:00 just culling ounces. Finally ran and hit a place that I didnt even prefish and cuaght a 2lber off the first tree on a Missle Da Bomb beaver. Flipped trees in there until 2:30 and culled all 5 fish I had and ended up with 10.98lbs. Only problem was that they wanted that bait so bad that they swallowed it and I had to cut two hooks off and the fish ended up dying. So 2 lost fish cost me 1/2lb and bumbed me one spot out to the money! Oh well, still a good finish and bumbs me into 5th in our club standings.

There's A New Idiot Of The Day In Town...
Well, last November my wife and I found out that we were going to become parents, so I started looking for a place of our own (we were renting at the time). I finally found a good deal and closed on the deal last week. We are in the process of moving everything in and are almost done. All thats left is the extra bedroom suite and the washing machine and dryer. Well, the washing machine and dryer are the stackables and I was trying to move them on my own so I thought that I would "unstack" them so I could pack em one at a time. I began to unscrew things that looked like it was connecting the two untis together. THe more I unscrewed, the more screws I found. Finally I found the last screw that was keeping it together and I unscrewed it only for the entire machine to come crashing down!! It bent all the meat up, broke off all plastic peices, bent the tub, ripped apart the wires and hoses, and cut my dang arm! Needless to say I was not happy with myself at the time. They cost us $1000 and now it is useless. Cant even be fixed. I really dont need to foot another bill right now, but looks like Im going to have to. New washer and dryer, here I come. Lesson Learned: Stackable washer and dryers are indeed not two seperate units stacked on one another, but rather, they are one unit! Should have figured that out by them only having one dang plug.

36V Trolling Motor Question
The plug and recepticle have nothing to do with the voltage, as long as the wire is big enough for the current, which it is. Just add another battery into the series and you now have a 36v plug and recepticle. Try this, add a 3rd battery in the series and get a volt meter and read the voltage at the plug. If it shows 36 volts then you have nothing to worry about. DO NOT run the trolling motor on 24v. It WILL tear it up!!

Any Falcon Cara Users Out There?
The Amistad is a beast! Buy that thang and never look back... And nocluefisher, Caras are normally $200 rods, so $119 is a pretty darn good deal. I'd buy one at that price and if you dont like it you could probably resell it and get your money back on it.

What Do You Use Your Avid For?
I have that same rod and faced the same problem. I hated that rod until I put a Curado 50E on it. It took awhile to get used to, but now its a pretty decent t-rig rod. It is very sensitive, but it just doesnt feel right in my hands sometimes. It feels too tip heavy. Im with you, I like my Powells, Dobyns, and Phenix rods alot better!

Sub 100 Baitcaster
Citica E would be a great choice. Also, dont overlook the H2O Mettle. At $49.99, you could buy it and some other tackle for $100. It outcasts my Citicas, Curados, Trions, Presidents, Supreme, Patriarch, and Zillion!!

Cheap A-Rigs
I wonder if their crankbaits are any good. For about $1.50 a peice they may be worth a shot!

Louisiana Fishin'
Well guys, I went to Black Lake in Campti, LA yesterday and had a pretty good day. Boat around 50 bass or so, but they were all between 10"-16", no big fish. I have a tournament Saturday out there, so after that I will post the pattern. If my tournament layout was like Major Leage Fishing, I think I would win it, but with it being the top 5 fish I may have to go looking for a big momma!
