  1. I can update on central LA lakes. Saline/Larto, Sibley, Cane River, Ouchita River ect.
  2. Well, I just got back. Fished Friday evening and all day Saturday. Caught 56 bass and 87 barfish. 51 of the 56 bass were caught on a Arig in 13 fow with grass. Caught a few good ones on the sucken bridge back in Carrice Creek and found about 1.9 million barfish schooling out where the main river channel swings next to the humps at the mouth of Carrice. Fished Magee Flats and Six Mile and caught 25 of the bass down there (all on Arig). Seems the best grass in in 12-15 fow. Any shallower and its bare and deeper is bare for the most part. I did catch one big momma post spawner on a point in Oil Well too, but that was all that I caught in there.
  3. I'll be up that way Friday and Saturday...staying at Cypress Bend, but will probably spend all day Saturday in Six Mile, Housen, and Oil Well...If ya see a red/black/white Triton TR19 w/200 Yammie HPDI stop by and say hello. Are the shad spawning yet? I know its a little early, but with everything else spawining early I figure the shad should be about ready to start...
  4. The fish will spawn for another month or so. I think the majority of fish have spawned, but there is definatly a wave on beds now and will be until end of April. The waves are just getting smaller and smaller.
  5. Sounds like to me you need the 6'6" M rod if you already have a 6'7" MH and 7'6" MH. Ducketts are great rods, but IMO look at the Phenix Recons. They are in the same price range as the Ducketts, but outfish all the rods I have fished which include rods up to $250.
  6. Good point Catt...I thought about that last week, but couldnt buy a fish in deeper water, then moved up in the hay grass and started catch some good fish...one that went 5lbs. I do beleive that most fish have spawned out by now and are headed deeper. The shad spawn should be early this year too, so the grass in 8 fow should hold some hungry bass feeding on shad! Get your jerbaits and flukes ready!!
  7. When will they start generating again?
  8. I plan on helping him out once I get my boat back running lol. I think he is joining my bass club next month! Cant wait to meet him and see how they do it up in Virginia.
  9. Top water will catch you quite a few fish right now, but the majority will be males. The males are up shallow gaurding eggs and fry so if your just looking to catch a bunch of fish, topwater, weigtless plastics, and jerbaits will do it in 1-6 fow. To find the late spawners, throw a Gambler Big_EZ or Skinny dipper and swim it through the flooded hay grass. If one whirls behind it, follow up with the fluke. I can usually catch a few late spawners a day doing this mixed with a ton of males. If your just looking for the big bite, tie on a 3/4 oz jig and back off to the main creek points and work all cover and structure.
  10. The Hydrilla can be found in 6-15 fow right now. Anything less than 6 ft was dry recently, so no hydrilla, but it does have alot of hay grass that has flooded. The bass have moved into the hay grass and look to be spawning in there. Make sure you have some Gambler Big-EZs or Skinny Dippers and swim em through the grass and hold on!
  11. Catt...good to see you back. Hope all is well and I see your still catching the big girls! I went Wednesday with my uncle and we caught 21 bass, 8 of em being keepers, with the biggest going 5lbs. Caught the majority of em on a Gambler Big-EZ swam through the newly flooded hay grass. Fished deeper with C-Rigs, Pointers, traps, wacky worms, cranks for hours with nothing to show for it then moved shallow and started catching fish.
  12. I was planning on going tomorrow, but my dang motor isnt running right! Im about ready to just sell the stupid thing...but then I'd have no boat. Hopefully I can find someone with a boat going tomorrow because I bet it will be on!!
  13. I would save another $100 and buy a $100 rod and $100 reel for the A-Rig minimum. The wear and tear that it will put on gear will tear through cheap reels real quick. The cheapest A-Rig combo I can think of would be a Plueger Trion or BPS Pro Qualifier reel and a 7'6" H Vendetta rod.
  14. Im going to make it my life goal to fish the waters you fish!!! Awesome catch!
  15. I dont find Taylor very attractive, I'd give her a 6/10, but could you imagine the boat, electronics, powerpoles, and tackle you could buy with her salary! When I said she wouldn't be on my "datable" list, I was reffering to Tim Tebow. If I was Tim Tebow, she wouldn't be on my "datable" list because he can get whoever he wants so why settle for anything less than a 10! Of course with my looks, athletic ability, and charm it would be pretty hard for me to settle too. That's why I married my wife...a perfect 10!
  16. I'd get the Duckett. The Rage rods feel cheap in my hands.
  17. That's how I like to think of myself atleast...
  18. 1. Craw (Rage Craw) 2. Fluke 3. Trick Worm 4. Swimbait (LFT Magic Shad)
  19. 15lb CXX or Yozuri Hybrid.
  20. Tebow could date practically whoever he wants. Taylor Swift would not even be on my list of dateable people. She seems kinda cool I guess, maybe a little wierd, but not very attractive. I applaud Tebow for turning down all of these HOT women and living out what he says. I bet Taylor Swift doesnt even tempt him!
  21. Excited to hear the good news!! I will continue to pray for you both during the recovery process.
  22. Sounds like you've found some good fish. Good luck this weekend!
  23. I fished Thursday-Saturday and caught 14 fish Thursday evening, 43 Friday evening, and 31 Saturday morning. Weighed in 11.52 in my tournament Saturday. I caught better fish Friday on traps and jerkbaits, but couldnt find the size on Saturday. We did have 2 8lb+ fish weighed in in our tournament so the big ones are around, just not around me apparently. I plan on going back Wednesday to catch some white perch. I caught 6 huge perch on my jerkbait!
  24. I have found Rapala to be overrated as far as Im concerned. When I throw cranks, Im almost always throwing around some sort of structure or cover and the bills on the Rapalas just seem to be too weak. I have broken every Rapala I own. I know that Im rough on cranks, but Bombers and Bandits dont break on me NEARLY as often so I will stick with these.
