  1. I'm getting ready to purchase my first MS Slammer. Before I make the 50 dollar investment I have a few question for those that have them. I know color is a personel preferce as is size but any suggestions on either, size or color? Anything else to keep in mind. Thanks so much.
  2. The salt air has been callin me too...Naw gotta go Bass fishin'. I did talk to a buddy and Bluefish are still swarming all over Narragansett bay. He was at Conimicut Point in Warwick last night and a huge school of Blues came by 2 times within an hour.
  3. I agree Pieman. Im catching fish but not the quantity. I think it's a combination of the consecutive cold fronts and plus the fact that turnover is approaching or even happening in some places especially the northern spots athough the surface temps on some of the places i'm fishing is still in the low 60s during the day.
  4. Thats what I like to hear Matt. Thanks also. I actually shove my jon boat into the back of my Jeep Grand Cheroke, lol. It sticks out 4 feet or so but...
  5. Thanks Topdog and 89MJ. Im from Cranston MJ. 10 mins from you. I wouldn't doubt it Topdog, lol. As far as the back seat, I almost always have an open spot Topdog. I will keep you in mind for sure and you do the same. Im right outside of Providence. I get out 4 times a week most weeks. 2 weekdays and sat and sun.
  6. Thanks for the wecome. I fish all around the state Tin. Wordens, Johnsons Pond, Georgiville, Oak Swamp Resivor and any little pond I can carry my boat to. Im always looking for new places though.
  7. Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Im new to the forums here at Bassresource. Im from RI and Bass fish 3 to 5 days a week. I used to go to a few other sites and post on forums but it just seemed too clicky. I've been reading the posts here especially the Northeast posts here and everyone seems really friendly. I fish out of a pond Cadallac, lol, my 12 foot Jon boat. Gets the job done for 20 thousnad or so less than a big boat! I have an open seat quite a bit as many of my fishing buddies have got married and had kids. Im divorced and my daughters 20, Yee Ha! Hope to talk more and maybe meet up for a friendly tourny etc. Keep it wet, Anthony, Bassinri.
  8. I agree with you Lampi. Every year I say "This year has slowed down more than ususal" lol. Its probably nit true but it does slow this time of year. I just try to figure out what the food source in your pond or area is doing. I know this is the clique answer but if you just think about it it really makes sence. Think what hatched in the spring and has had 4 or more months to grow. Weather it's shad or sunfish try to replicate their size and color. I honestly believe in mid to large size swim baits as some of the members here have proven with their photos. I like useing Strike Kings "King Shad" as its not a 40 or 50 dollars lure, it goes for $20, but acts ALMOST as good. I also like the Bass Magic swimbaits and YUM's Money Minnow$. Keep in mind though, you don't seem to get as many bites but when you do more than half the time they are Biggins! I also like crankbaits, spinnerbaits and larger plastics in that order. I honestly think the trick is more in finding the LOCATION rather than finding the LURE. I am by no means a pro understand, and dont claim to be. I have been fishing for over 30 years, the last 10 much more seriously, and I swear to you I feel like I know very little but I just keep PLUGGING away, Pun intended lol. Good luck!
  9. I do notice that I wont catch as many fish but the ones I catch most times are larger. I guess Im stating the obvious. For me it has to be the right time or the bigger worms just wont work. When I say right time I mean not before or right after a cold front etc. I too like the 10 inch Power Bait Power Worm. My personel color preference is the Mardi Gras color or black. I like them Texas and carolina rigged. I seem to have the best luck slowly dragging them across the bottom rather than lifting the rod tip and dropping but again thats just a personel preference. Good luck.
  10. Hello All. I have a Minn Kota Endura 30 on my boat. I was out 2 days ago and picked up a whole bunch of someones discarded fishing line in the trolling motor. I got home took it all out and went back out yesterday. I now have a terrible vibration at top speed. I did notice the shear pin had a slight bend in it. The line was all wrapped up in front of and behind where the shear pin is put through the drive shaft. Does anyone think that could cause the vibration? Has this happened to anyone? The shaft didnt get bent or anything. Thanks all.
