  2. I'm still laffin about it although it did't seems as funny when it first happened :-/. Whatever it takes to fish Im doin it! A dunk in the drink isn't gonna stop me. I had a great day and can't want to dunk you, JK. . If you need a trolling motor just gimmie a call. I mignt not even go out sunday anyway.
  3. I HAD a stowaway. Had 1 full season plus a little on it. I always charged it up properly etc. Even put it on a battery maintainer this winter. Took the boat out 1 time this year and the battery died. I would never buy another.
  4. Thanks! Yes I beter change the seals I amost forgot that! Thanks for the info.
  5. After looking at a bunch of boat trailers that were either over priced junk or just over priced for my 11 foot flat bottom jon boat I decided to go to Harbor Freight yesterday and look at the trailers. I was going to get the regular small boat trailer that have but it has to be ordered and the warehouse was out and it could take up to 6 weeks to get it, and at least 4 weeks at minimum. Not wanting to wait and tired of lugging my boat in and out of the truck I purchased a 4x8 flat utility trailer rater for over 1000 lbs. If anyone has ever wondered about these, they are very nice. My question is Has anyone had experience useing these or any flat trailer as a boat trailer. I was thinking about customizing it a bit and welding a vertical post and attaching a winch just like a regular boat trailer. Also I was debating weather or not to put the plywood down or leave it off and build some type of flat beds like on regular boat trailers. Is all that worth it or should I just leave it be. What have you found to work on yours? I know Im not the only one to use these as boat trailers. All my other boats had regular trailers but after my divorce Im back at square one with a smaller jon boat and I acutaly dont mind it at all if I can just work the trailer part out. Thanks all.
  6. Thisngs are so hard on many people finacially right now that you can buy a nice 10 year old Bass boat for less than what it wil cost you to make one! Ive seen 10 or 15 year ols NICE Bass boats in my area for 2000 and up! If they are around up here in the northeast for that cheap Im sure they are everywhere for that money if not for less. If you are set on building just remember W-I-D-E-R is always better obviously. I made a nice one out of a G 3 BUT it ended up costing me more than a nice older fiberglass boat would have with a 90 horse. Good luck.
  7. Had a great time at the 1st car topper tourney even though we had to drop out because of a bad battery. Just to clarify that so I dont feel like more of an idiot that I already do, LOL. The battery had only 1 full season on it but I did use it alot last year. I used a battery maintainer for the first time in 25 plus years of boating and it seems very weird that a batttery less than 2 years old was dead within a few hours of fishing. Just a word of advice, DONT USE ONE. I purchased it at Harbor Freight and it was supposed to be better than just leaving it alone all winter. I am almost positive that it ruined my battery as It was indeed fully charged and the water level in the battery was fine. I usually store the battery in the house and put a charge on it once a month or so but I thought I was doing good for it. Now I may be wrong but it all seems odd. As far as the fishing, it was actually going pretty well. We had a nice fish in the boat within 10 minutes of leaving the ramp and another to follow not long after. We had some shorts inbetween as well. We were catching them in deep water, 8 feet, which is deep for Bellville. They came on black and red spinnerbaits slow rolled. Not even a strike useing a Lucky Craft pointer which I felt was very odd. Once I noticed the battery was giving out we had to leave our productive spot because of the 30+ mile an hour wind gusts and once we did we never got another bite. Morel to the story, Fish em deep cause its still cold. Thanks to Paul for a good day and me and Bob are ready for The Blackstone! This time Im bringin' 2 NEW batteries!

  10. Nice Bass Izzy. Better than mine which is none. I've been going out a few times a week for a liitle bit and nothing yet. Its so tuff because its still so cold here ar night. Going out again this afternoon so you neve know.
  11. Congrats to you! Whats the average air tempture where you are? I know in Southeastern New England its still terrible because its still getting into the 30s at night. I guess when I asked the question I should have stated any luck in New England area, not that I dont like hearing from other areas of the US. Good luck!
  12. Just seeing if anyones had any luck out there. Im planing on going out today for a while. A friend of mine who has been doing alot of carp fishing for the last few years caught 10 carp yesterday. Most were over 15 pounds and some were over 20! I know its not Bass but its a fish!
  13. It depends on the weather to me. When the sun comes out try the shallower water where the sun is hitting it. That shoould warm up a bit. As you probably know bass can feel a 1 degree fluxuation in tempature. If its still chilly out I would go deeper. I know this sounds like pretty basic advice but its usually what works any time of year for me.
  14. Hi All. thanks for all the help. I am going to check out the sites now. Cheers!

Been going there since before I could walk. My parents store was right next to it and opened in 1961 the same year as Wein O. Remember when they were a quater. Dang.

  24. A reason not to let a pet in the house?!?!?! Me and 2 of my neighbors just had the loacal pet shelter take my neighbors dog from him because he left it out through 100 degree heat and snowstorms! Why have a pet and leave him tied up outside 24 7. Crazy.
