Does anybody re-paint lures?
I might do that. I already have the compressor, line just need the airbrush. Any suggestions for the paint and finish? Where do you buy yours from? Thanks. In the past when I have a top water popper (plastic) that's paint is really bad, I've just gone ahead and removed all (or as much as possible) paint the paint so you're left with a clear top water plug. I've caught several fish on them as well.

Fishing jerks
Guessing this guy's name was 'Kicking Donkey'.........................you know...................@$$................... Never had/witnessed altercations like this before but I like the guy's solution of tossing those buttheads in the lake for yelling at his kids.

Any engineers on here?
FUNNY! +1 One thing about engineers in ANY field; just because you have a piece of paper doesn't mean you know what you're talking about. However you will get better pay.

Just my opinion but this thread probably needs closing as it's run it's course and is turning into a flamefest. :

2009 Bass Fishing Goals
1. First and foremost: just fish if I have the time. Don't look at when is the best time (moon phase, weather, etc.....); just fish to enjoy the time on the lake. 2. Use the depth finder with a purpose and map my subdivision lake. Fish the structure instead of fishing the 'fish'. 3. Catch a DD LMB. 4. Take my nephew out fishing on my boat.

Super Bowl Trivia Story
As a Steeler fan, I will be rooting for my team to win but won't be that disappointed if the Cards win it. The Cards are pretty much a feel good story from start to finish.

Popcorn
It wasn't listed on BJ's website but here's a photo of it: It makes 1.5 gallons of popcorn and is delicious. I haven't mastered mixing my own kernals/oil/butter yet so I'm sticking with the premixed packs.

Wish the Eagles would have won...
Looks like he was blocked down into that path by the O-line and the ball just barely gets out before contact is made. The guy is clearly looking down at the ground and heading that way. It was a freak accident and the only way to avoid it would be if Palmer jumps out of the way or his lineman quits blocking guys INTO his legs. Try this: fill up a 55 gallon barrel full of whatever to about 325lbs and put it on a moving dolly on a hill. Then give it a shove down the hill then jump in front of it and try to stop it. Kind of hard to stop that much beef once you get it going. Thought the MaGahee 'conspiracy' was funny but this one takes the cake.

Fishing jerks
I agree with fluke. At 20 ft ( ) you were in the wrong to start fishing that close without asking the person if he minded. Perhaps the reason he was ticked at you and being a 'jerk' is that he felt you were the one being the 'jerk'. I would have probably said something to you along the lines of 'you mind wiping while you're on my butt?' Thinking about it a little ask yourself "how far can the the average person cast?" then add 10% to that for longer casts. Then double it for the amount of distance you would need to cast and not cross him. That should be your minimum unless there is just not enough shoreline to manage that. If that's the case, then either find another spot or buy/rent/borrow a boat.

Wish the Eagles would have won...
The NFL has made great strides in protecting players but it IS a contact sport which is the appeal for a lot of NFL fans. Some would say that they've gone too far when you see some of the penalties called during the games. Yeah, there are still guys out there that seem like they're trying to hurt guys out there but not in this case. Now I will say that the hit Ryan Clark put on Wes Welker earlier this year was over the top but I think he got fined for that. Two thoughts to ponder: The NFL decided that the hit was legal in game and by review as they have elected NOT to fine Clark for the hit on MaGahee. End of discussion as they are notorious for fining guys even if during the game there was no penalty called. The Pittsburgh/Baltimore game Sunday was the most watched t.v. program since last the Superbowl. Reason why? People knew it would be a very physical, hard hitting game. The fans have spoken.

Wish the Eagles would have won...
Glenn, I don't know what your issues with the Steelers are but they appear set in stone. The overwhelming consensus is that the hits were clean but we're wasting our time debating it. I guess you'll be watching reruns or something else on Feb. 1st.

My Favortie thing about SUPERBOWL
My wife used to work for a Country Club and I used to get free golf; that was great. She quit and I cried.............for a month. :'(

My Favortie thing about SUPERBOWL
Good deal Muddy. However, to go to a Braves game with parking, refreshments, gas and tickets it would cost about $100.00+ dollars. I could feed the baitmonkey alot and listen to the game while I fish for those 4 hours.

Popcorn
My wife bought a upright popcorn machine for about $170.00 at BJs as a XMAS present for me. I buy premixed packets from of Chiefs Premium popcorn and it tastes EXACTLY like movie theatre popcorn and a heck of alot cheaper.

Who Will Win The Super Bowl?
Pittsburgh homer here but I can see Pitt losing this one if they don't keep their foot on the gas, scoring as much as possible. Going 3 and out just because you're up is keeping your defense out there a long time and giving Warner too many opportunities. I believe it will be a good game but the Steelers should prevail.

Wish the Eagles would have won...
;D Respectfully, I disagree. Yeah, I'm a Steeler fan but you've got to be joking about the refs 'fixing' that game. Seriously. #1. That roughing the punter call WAS bogus but it amounted to no points. If they were trying to fix it on that series don't you think they would have given Pittsburgh 1 second to kick a field goal instead of ruling that time expired? #2. Harrison was being held most of the night and only got 1 call. #3. MaGahee hit: Go look at that clip on youtube; Ryan Clark lowers his shoulder AND led slightly with it to hit MaGahee. MaGahee was the one who lowered HIS head for the contact. The impact of two 200+ lbs guy hitting each other caused their helmets to hit. If anyone is at fault, it's MaGahee. I respect you Glenn but you seem to have a hatred for the Steelers. Are you by chance a Seahawk or Baltimore fan? Really, that post of yours doesn't jive with the game last night.

Bass do learn!!! they are smarter then you think Read this
IMO I think this whole argument is subjective and relative. "Fish are smarter than we give them credit for" Well, I think some fish are smarter than some people give them credit for. Some people throw the same bait in the same location because they were killing them there before. They don't stop to think are the conditions the same, etc... These guys are NOT as smart as they give themselves credit for. Some fish are dumber than some people give them credit for. Darwin does work in the fish world too I assume. The fittest survive and live long enough to become lunkers by learning. Some fish will hit the same thing over and over because those are the dumb ones of the group. Depending upon the fishing pressure, population of fish, etc they 'learn' at different paces. Whether or not a fish is 'educated' doesn't mean you're guaranteed to catch them or get skunked. Remember there are different kinds of strikes right. Bottom line for me is don't overthink it; if you have the time to go fishing, go fishing. Enjoy your time outside whether the fish in your lake/pond are smart or stupid.

BRAVES SIGN LOWE
They need some bats too! Too bad they don't have the budget the Yankees do. I like many others, am rooting against the Yankees because they're trying to buy a championship. Side note: I don't care for watching the Braves play on T.V. but love listening to them on the radio. I've been to a couple games and loved that as well; just can't stand baseball on t.v. for some reason. :-?

Coming sign of the apocalypse?
Sure; most likely they'd get leftovers. They could choose from Greenish Meatloaf, some slightly 'gooey' stuff that might have been chili and some ketchup with an expiration date some time during the Reagan administration. If they were too proud for that, I'd say no.

Babylon A.D.
Gotta agree with KU bassmaster on this; thought this was a waste of my time and money (rental). Didn't see the 'female anotomies' that RW was talking about either. I'm a fan of Vin Diesel and 'man-cave movies' but this is NOT one of them. I may have to watch 'Chronicles of Riddick' yet again to undo any harm that might have been done.

Wow
The wow factor also applies that a regular season 9-7 team (Cards) and a 8-8 team, (Chargers) could play each other in the Superbowl. I can see it ending up Steelers vs Eagles in the Superbowl.
