  1. Nice trip rondef. I'm sure you'll get an open pass to fish there especially if you buy them dinner.
  2. I've tried it recently without success but I don't see why people WOULD have a problem with it. I'll use a live gill in a heartbeat if I know I'll have the chance to catch a big one.
  3. Man, I don't know......last time I said yeah to an offer like this I woke up in a tub full of ice missing a kidney. Just kidding; man if this were in the Atlanta area I'd be on that like white on rice. :'( Thanks anyway.
  4. Broke PB twice this year; first one was at 5:50 PM in June, bright sunlight and then second one was at 11:00 AM in July shady though. That being said, I think there are other factors that have more of a bearing on it than what a clock says. Moon phase, barometer, etc....just too much to think about. Go fish when you can and see what's happening at the lake.
  5. I agree with road warrior that it is a tad skinny w/no belly. For comparison the bass in my avatar is 24.5" long and weighed a little over 8lbs on a spring scale (not the most accurate but close enough for government work). Based on that and the 26" it measured I'll guess about 6.5-7 lbs. If you hook that one in spring I'm guessing you'll come close to a double digit fish. NICE FISH BUD! 8-)
  6. No offense intended but let me be the first to ask if you carry a scale and are weighing these 6-10 lbers or just guesstimating? For reason yet explained, until you actually start weighing your fish they are anywhere from 1.5-2X heavier than they ACTUALLY weigh. :'( I know I was guilty of that and you see it ALL the time here. Personally I'd spend all day catching 1-2 pounders if I was catching alot of them. I love catching fish and if the bass aren't hitting, sometimes I go after bluegill, crappie or study the lake some more.
  7. Garlic tabasco rocks and so does Chipotle tabasco.
  8. Well, that sucks. I doubt it turns up in Georgia but if it does, I'll report it.
  9. You in the military bud? If so thanks for your service to our country. Nice fish too! 8-)
  10. X2 Paul. I'm very interested in how to rig this up. BTW nice fish there.
  11. Is it true that the lake level dropped 3 feet when you pulled that toad out?!!
  12. ;D ;D ;D Sorry bud, but that's some funny stuff right there.
  13. Sorry to hear that man. I would start scouting for a new honeyhole further inland if I were you.
  14. Nice one frog. ;D
  15. X2. With Brady going down, Colts losing ground in the AFC seed over the first six weeks with Saturday out and San Diego/Jags imploding, Steelers (despite the NFL's toughest schedule) are the odds on favorites.
  16. For those that still have a bad taste in their mouths from the Pats last year, go buy one of these tshirts. http://www.believemerch.com/product/bernard-pollard-fan-club-white-tee
  17. Good one paul; I'm guessing all the eligible 2nd stringers out there are calling the Pats for an interview. I doubt Cassel will continue starting the entire year and the Pats ARE shopping. Dante Culpepper might get to throw to Moss again.
  18. I missed out on the free ones but I love the two I have purchased from Dick's. They run true and are without a doubt the best buzzbaits I've ever used. Quick to the surface and you can run them sooooooo slow. Good job to the designers.
  19. LMB PB = 7" Zoom Utail Redshad SMB PB = 1/4 chartruese Rooster Tail
  20. Well I saw the guy at church today and he seems okay. I did say something along the lines of when you want to go again and he replied soon. His wife was within earshot and said 'I hear you're quite the fisherman! Sam says you really know your stuff'. So apparently there's no hard feelings and I'll go with him again. One other note; I only told one of my kids he didn't catch anything. When I got home that night, when the wife asked if we caught anything I said we caught about a dozen. I didn't want her saying anything to the guy's wife that could pour gasoline on the fire.
  21. Jimmy Houston. Been watching him since I was 14 years old. Only one of those I've seen in person. In 1993-4, the wife and I were driving on I-20 West of Atlanta heading West coming home from a Wedding in downtown. She's grabbing some zzz's while I'm driving and I notice a guy coming up on my left pulling a nice Ranger (I think) boat. I glance over at this blonde guy with a bowl cut and he glances over at me. I immediately look back point at him and he grins pointing back at me. I start holding up my index finger for him to hold on 1 second. By this time I'm elbowing the wife to wake up and take a picture of this guy in the truck next to me. He stayed parallel to me while my wife snapped a picture that never turned out. He was a great sport about it and seems like a great guy.
  22. Chubby girls are great guys..............heat in the winter and shade in the summer.
  23. Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I'm just not that competitive. When I fish or golf it's me vs the lake or golf course; not me vs whoever I'm with. This guy's obviously alot more competitive than me but I think he'll be okay. I have fished with guys like that before when they start counting the fish you or they catch my eyes start rolling. :
