G Loomis Jwr 3 Or 4 Power?????
Same with the Classic MBR's. The 844 is a Heavy Power that is rated from 1/4 to 1oz and 12to 20# line. IIRC, that is a rating that most manufactures hand on their MH.

G Loomis Jwr 3 Or 4 Power?????
4 power when you consider that a 3/8oz jig is over 1/2 when you count the hook and the skirt.

So, I Was Going To Buy A Stradic Fk...
That's a great looking box. Is there a fishing reel in it?

Anyone Know Which Line Is Lightest?
Braid. How light of finesse are you talking about? If you really want to shave some weight, a shallow spool from Avail, ZPI, KTF or Yumeya is a huge help.

Rod Advice(Mbr)
If you go with a 3/4oz jig head and a 6" SB, you are more than likely going to have a total weight close to 1.5oz and IMHO, I would not throw that much weight with my 844GLX. I would stick with 1/2oz heads for the 844 and 1/4oz plus SB, the 843 would be fine. The 843 is a fantastic unweighted Super Fluke rod. If it were me, I would get a MBR GLX because it's the better rod than the GL3.

First Expensive Rod, Broke In First Season :-(
You could just man up and say hey, I screwed up and it's totally my fault and not expect Abu to replace it.

Odd Knob Question... Flippin' Knobs?
Have you thought about getting the ZPI BFS knobs?

Check out the Major Craft Volkey BFS Rods.

Trilene Big Game
Big Game is IMHO, is an excellent extremely affordable line. In fact, I just received a spool of 8# in the mail today.

Shimano Aldebaran Bfs.....
Keep in mind there is more than one Avail spool model for you XT1000. Japan Tackle has them for sale and a great description of just about every one of them I think.

Shimano Aldebaran Bfs.....
You could save yourself some money and get the Yumeya Shallow Spool for your XT1000 and you be able to throw lighter weight lures but not as light as the BFS XG. The Avail spools are also better at throwing lighter lures than the Yumeya spool IMHO. A big part of throwing lighter weight lures besides the rod is your spool. The weight of the spool and it's line capacity specifically. The Yumeya spool is not as light and it holds more line than the better shallow spools. I just bought a Major Craft MS-X Limited BFS rod to specifically throw really light hardbaits and to be honest, I am disappointed with it in that role. My Loomis MBR782GLX with it's very soft tip does a better job at throwing Strike King Bitsy Minnows (less than 2.5 grams) using the same Conquest 50 w/Avail spool does. I think that my MS-X will shine with unweighted plastics and very light finesse jigs so that is what it will be doing from now on.

Is It Okay To Use Heavier Lures On A Finesse Reel?
You will find out this isn't entirely true if you ever try to cast a true finesse type lure.

Braid / Mono For Poppers?
For exspensive lures, I am using braid.

Looking To Get My First High End Baitcasting Rod.
I agree with kickerfish that you can buy a nice barely used Loomic MBR GLX with your budget or for a little more, an NRX.

Do Hooks Dissolve Under Water?
Smash the barbs down and removing the hook is soooooo much easier for you and the critter.

Help! My Reel Got Submerged In Water
When I finally started to check out the innards of one of my reels, I went to the UPS Store and had them print me a larger schematic. Even a blind man should be able to see everything with this schematic. I borrowed a tip from some guys and that is to lay a bath towel over your work area because parts don't roll on a bath towel. I also bought some really big Ziploc Bags to take apart my reels in. Bags that are big enough so that my reel and hands can fit into when removing clips and springs because when they fly off, you may never find them and if they fly off inside the bag, you will find them.

You are a better friend than me. I would either keep that one or buy another one for myself.

Which Shimano Reel For Topwater
No and Japan Tackle never got back to me about the availability. I have had one before and then sold it and was regretting it and now I am over it. Time to move on. Truthfully, it's a big reel and too big for my hands but it's by far the smoothest reel that I ever owned. I am more into the BFS thing now and I am having a lot of fun throwing Strike King Bitsy Minnows and other untralight lures.

Color coordinate them to your rods if you can and go have a beer after all that hard work.
