  1. I know that I will. I bought my first 802 on your recommendation and I thank you for the advice! Do you recognize the lure on the bottom set up? I haven't got to use them yet but they look sweet! Thanks!
  2. Finally got a set of twins! NRX802C's with Conquest 50's. One for 1/4oz jigs and one for soft plastics.
  3. The Hookup Tackle Rep Sample.
  4. I like it but I never use it. I will start using it this coming summer. They make a 2500 and 2500S. The S is the shallow spool model. My 1000S has a shallow spool. I don't know the exact amount of line but I know there is not much on there even with 10# braid. The 2500 has a knob like the one on my 1000. Just so you know, if you do go the JDM route, there will be no warranty coverage for your reel should you need it. I personally don't worry about things like that as I know it comes with the territory. Check out Shimano Japan's Rareneium page. http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/reel/2816
  5. I am only addicted to Conquest 50's. LOL Trust me Hootie, I do not have the money! With Christmas next Thursday, I don't think my wife is going to front me any more money considering a NRX802C was delivered yesterday.
  6. I was looking at these yesterday. The USDM version and the JDM version. It looks to me like the USDM version is a better looking reel with a better looking drag star. If I had $300.00 to spend right now, I would be tempted to buy my first Daiwa.
  7. If you like silver and black, you should check out the Shimano Rareneium CI4+ 2500. I believe it is the JDM version of the Stradic and it can be had for just over $200.00 at Japan Lure Shop or Digitaka. The pic below is my 1000.
  8. My oldest reel is my first baitcaster. My dad bought it for me in 82 or 83. Neglect and abuse from when I was a kid make this reel not very desirable to use. It still functions but it's not very smooth.
  9. Neither was I until I seen it in person!
  10. An Antares HG that palms like a Curado 200E and one that palms like a 50E.
  11. And the Scorpion XT1000 is smoother than the Curado 50E. I don't know how the Chronarch 50E compares to the CU50E, but the XT1000 is noticeably smoother than the CU50.
  12. A Loomis NRX803C 5 Shimano Aldebaran MG7's G3 1548 Jon Boat with some electronics and a trolling motor.
  13. After losing a couple of $20+ Sammy 100's to hang ups, it's braid from now on.
  14. Nice looking fish! Do you have much Nile Crocodile activity where you fish?
  15. I am an adult (45) and I can do many things that other adults do like changing the brake pads on my truck, change the oil, put together tv stands, assemble BBQ grill etc but I can't psychologically take on the task of tearing down a fishing reel to clean it. IMHO, my reasons are easy for me to understand. I took apart my first baitcaster, a Shimano Bantam Mag Plus 250SG, when I was 12 or 13 and try as hard as I could, I couldn't get it back together. I didn't even remove C Clips or anything like that. I just took the handle side side plate off and I specifically remember the little springs giving me a lot of trouble. My dad refused to help me get it back together. My mom took me uptown and I paid a guy at a tackle shop $9.00 to put it back together. I think that incident scarred me for life! LOL
  16. First, fill your spool with cheap mono that is roughly the same diameter as the braid that you are going to use. Then tie on the heaviest lure that you will throw with this combo. After you make your longest cast, pull an equal amount of mono off the spool that equals your cast and refill with braid.
  17. Unfortunatly the red XT1000 doesn't color coridinate well with the blue wraps on the NRX but the light gray Aldebaran MG7 would look sweet. LOL
  18. Have you had the Conquest 50 in your hands? It is much more easily palmed than the 100 and above.
  19. You owe them nothing! Like others have said, you gave them more than they were asking so IMHO, you should have a clear consience on this.
  20. Thank you! I will check it out when I get home from work.
