  1. The Avail Microcast Spool has a great reputation and should serve you well. I am going to eventually get one for a Conquest 50 sooner rather than later because I can't imagine that they have a large quantity of specialty spools for reels that are no longer being made.
  2. Go to WalMart and buy a loaf of their cheapest white bread. Make little bread balls just big enough to cover your hook and hang on!
  3. What spool are you looking at? I have an XT1000 with a Yumeya Spool and I recently aquired a Loomis CR721IMX. I am shocked at the ease that this combo just flat out slings a Zoom Finesse worm.
  4. I am trying to do my part! LOL
  5. I was hoping that I was the only one that noticed the MG7 prices on eBay right now. LOL
  6. I took someones advice and I bought an 8' rod for Grouper fishing from a party boat. That was very bad advice!
  7. I would get the Core. The Brenious with it's shallow spool will limit your casting range if/when you cast with it and the Core will not.
  8. You answered your own question.
  9. You served! So did I! Your service or mine, in regards to the First Amendment, doesn't mean jack on an Internet forum. You posted something really stupid and you are being called out on it. Like they say....if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!
  10. I would give the 6'10" MH and one of the 7'H a demo.
  11. Do you have a huge stash of 30 year old lures or are you using modern day lures or new lures that are old designs? I don't think that even you believe this bs. If you do, you are missing out on some really nice gear!
  12. They are more like $400.00 rods. It would be nice if TW had a demo program for rods like they do reels.
  13. The lower gear for moving baits and the higher gear for bottom contact. Either would be fine for bottom contact but the popular opinion is that a higher gear ratio is best for bottom contact.
  14. Great looking Mudfish!
  15. Tell him to use 10# braid. Problem solved!
  16. Bantam 1 (Dan Thorburn) is who you are talking about and he is going on to a different position with Shimano and he will not be frequenting the forums like he used to.
  17. The 2 reasons that you mention have nothing at all to do with why I don't tie directly to the spool. I don't tie directly to the spool because as DVT mentioned on page 1 of this Thread, there is just something about it that doesn't seem right to me.
  18. What kind of reel do you have? You should wash off any reel that is used in salt water and the beach may not be the open sea but it is still salt water.
  19. How tight/loose is your cast control knob? Have you tried a different line?
  20. Tying directly to the holes may work fine but it seems kinda amateurish to me.
  21. I believe you! I thought that I was a big shot casting a Trick Worm 20+ yards with a 2 power Loomis, XT1000 w/shallow spool and 10# Power Pro until I found out yesterday that I can cast farther with a full spool Conquest 50 with 10# Big Game. In reality, an unweighted Trick Worm should be no problem for a experianced caster using a 50 size Shimano with the proper rod and line.
