  1. Awesome! Nice catch
  2. No place like home is right! If the snook bite isnt on you always have bass and peacocks! ;D
  3. Cool, Ive been looking for a good book to read! I read the Hunt for Sow Belly and Ike's book. Anything to do with fishing is a good read to me
  4. Thanks everyone! It felt awesome! It wasnt a vicious hit but solid and the head shake was incredible
  5. Got up this morning real early like and mozied on down to the lake. Guess who was there to greet me? My new PB baby! I was stoked! I ran to the first people I saw and handed them my camera. It was sweet! ;D Caught it on a green senko worked extremely slow. It was very cold out so I wasnt sure what to expect but I had to go fishing. It weighed exactly 8lbs! I also caught a decent 2lb on a small swimbait and a couple dinks. All in all I caught 5 fish. Here's a pic of the 8lb LM. Enjoy

Now thats the kind of fish I need to catch! Sweet!
  7. Thats awesome! I've never heard of a meanmouth bass. Hmmm, makes me wonder what a LMB and a Peacock Bass hybrid would look like
  8. Suks about your grandpa. As far as the boat goes, I'd bundle up and take it out. I know its cold up there right now but I'd still do it. I wouldnt be able to resist, unless there is some mechanical type reason that you shouldnt be boating in 14 degree weather
  9. Nice! Love that topwater bight
  10. Guess you dont have to buy ice to keep the brews cold ;D
  11. The pointers are sweet but it sucks to lose a $15-20 lure. Since i mostly fish from shore I tend to lose alot of lures due to me being a somewhat aggressive angler. That being said, I am going to order some higher end lures to use on special occasions (i.e. when bragging rights are on the line!)
  12. I know this might sound crazy but there is a company that makes biodegradable egg weights that come apart once they hit the water. So, if you add a couple of weights to your line, launch it out there and then the egg weights come apart, all that is left would be your lure sitting in the middle of the lake in deep water. Other than that, I would say find someone with a kayak that would be willing to paddle your bait way out to the middle of the lake and drop it. Or, you could also rig a remote control boat to take you bait way out there. Anyways, just a thought.
  13. I didnt vote but I say Cali being that the fish there get to eat fatty trout all day. But, I wouldnt mind hitting Cuba to see whats swimming around there! Imaging going there with a couple of nice swimbaits!! Bonkers!! Oh yeah, Happy New Years everyone!!
  14. Difinetely bring your gear! The good thing about Florida fishing is that you can catch fish in almost any body of water no matter how small. I've fished canals right next to malls and caught fish. I caught a nice peacock bass during my lunch hour right next to the Miami airport! Trust me, bring at least one rod and a box of lures and you'll have a good time.
  15. I seen that ad too and it looks interesting. I looked into buying a U.S. Reel spinning reel for inshore saltwater fishing but I read a few bad reviews so I held off. I figured I'd wait until they work the kinks out before buying one. This was when they first came on to the market so its possible that they have improved. Curious to see what owners have to say.
  16. Only the kids are getting gifts this year but I still get to hang out with my beautiful family and enjoy their company! Later I'll take my daughter to the park and teach her to ride her bike. Maybe a little afternoon X-mas fishing! Not bad, huh? Merry Christmas everyone!
  17. ;D Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you got what you wished for!
  18. Wish I had me $70 to blow at BPS!
  19. Welcome to the forum OC!
  20. Nice fish! My local lake has a decent population of Peacocks and I'm hitting it this weekend ;D I'm hoping to work the LMB in the AM and then switch over to Peacock later in the day.
  21. Move to Florida! The freshwater fishing is great and the saltwater is even better and if you get bored fishing, which I doubt, you can chase the chickies! I moved from San Fran to South Florida over 6 years ago and I've had a blast! I'll always love my City (SF) but I'm definitely enjoying myself in the Sunshine State!
  22. I hear that Penn reels arent the same ever since they started manufacturing them in China. I use the older (i.e. American made) SS ones and they are work horses. Salt and Freshwater
