  1. how about the scorpion 70? unless you are spooling heavy nylon or FC it should hold plenty of line. less than $180 shipped: https://www.digitaka.com/list.php?category=14&series=CASTING REEL&item=SCORPION
  2. I like a graphite rod, MH usually, over 7' MB XX DSR is my main chatterbait rod.
  3. sorry. fixed. you will have to copy and paste the link. https://www.digitaka.com/list.php?category=14&series=CASTING REEL&item=METANIUM+MGL
  4. id get the MET MGL for under $300 shipped. https://www.digitaka.com/list.php?category=14&series=CASTING
  5. MickD - that paddletail is going to rip after a few fish! then you have to resort to taking out seagulls with rocks. a homeless gentleman in san diego once told me that seagulls taste like crap.
  6. i didnt realize you posted inline spinner in your thread. i enjoy fishing with plastics more than i do with moving baits. sometimes i wont put the jig rod down when i know i should have a long time ago. a senko would be a great survival bait if you only needed one fish. boring as hell to fish though! i use it as a follow up bait mostly these days.
  7. Yeajray231, your thread makes it seem like one lure in a survival situation (stranded) if i could only use one lure for sport fishing its easily a jig and plastic craw trailer. id go with inline spinner in a survival situation.
  8. out of dozens of rods not one has a moderate action.
  9. whoa! can i ask why you have used spincasters for so long? is that all you use?
  10. I like the keitech fat paddletails.
  11. I usually use 1/2oz when I want to connect with the bottom, 3/8oz for fishing grass.
  12. cant go wrong with a shimano 2500 and a st. croix rod. a 7' Med/Fast would be a versatile spinning rod.
  13. I hated hearing the news of his death this wkend. My favorite of his movies was "A Simple Plan". Check it out if you haven't already.
  14. I use 10 and 12# Sniper FC
  15. MB XXX rattle viper for topwater.
  16. id skip imx and go for the new glx or nrx. if you are ok with the length, the nrx 893 is going to be perfect for jigs and t-rigs under 1/2oz plus plastic.
  17. #2. except sell the shock rod.
  18. I am not familiar with your particular rods but id go M or MH fast depending on weight of lure and if grass is involved. I do not use braid for trebles but that is just my preference. id recommend getting a fish grip. eye protection (sunglasses) is not a bad idea either.
  19. I wonder how many earthworms Doug has seen being eaten by bass. The ones where I live drown in sidewalk puddles. another vote for the plastic "worm".
  20. Works great for me. They come off easily and I leave them in the tackle box and don't bother putting back on until I get home. I can see how it wouldn't work for some people.
  21. http://www.banggood.com/10Pcs-Fishing-Treble-Hooks-Safety-Holder-Protector-Cover-Bonnets-Caps-p-980392.html?rmmds=search
  22. Im getting the Destruction and the Rattle Viper! Hope they are as sensitive as the XX line. The low price point has me a bit worried!
